Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Hello my friends! Beautiful day here today again!! Many, many blessings - too many to count, one being that Lori is taking me to see Deil's tonight. She's here so here's the thread:

Meditations by Padre Pio

Don’t try, excessively, to heal your heart, as your efforts would only make it more infirm. Don’t make too great an effort to overcome your temptations, as this violence would only make them stronger. Despise them and don’t dwell on them too much.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Our body is the temple of God and our soul is His image. It is the devil's

work to make us forget that and feel useless, incapable and worthless.

Lord, I will not deny Your existence in me. I am strong and capable

because You live and work through me.

"In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not

so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And

if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take

you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also." ~John

14:2-3

We can look at the world as our Father's house. We can think of all

people we meet as guests in our Fathers house, to be treated with love

and consideration. We can look at ourselves as servants in our

Father's house, as servants of all. We can think of no work as

beneath us. We can be ready to do all we can for others who need our

help. There is gladness in God's service. There is much satisfaction

in serving the highest that we know. We can express our love for God

in service to all

who are living with us in our Father's house.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may serve others out of gratitude to God. I pray that

my work may be a small repayment for God's grace so freely given me.

Life is not about being perfect,

it’s about making life perfect with

common imperfections.

~ Erika Valdespino

Laugh when you can, apologize when you should

and let go of what you can’t change.

Letting go doesn’t mean you’re giving up,

it means you’re moving on.

Lord, I bring to you my burdens and you know

my situation. You know i can’t make it without you.

Comfort my heart, give me strength

and help me carry on.

~ Unknown

Don’t ever change just to impress and please someone.

Change because it makes you a better person

and it leads you to a better future.

~ Unknown

Never underestimate the pain of a person,

because in all honesty, everyone is struggling.

Some people are better at hiding

it than others.

~ Will Smith

There will always be a reason why you meet people.

Either you need them to change your life or

you’re the one that will change theirs.

GOD IS ALWAYS NEAR

Author Unknown

One thing can always cheer me

When I'm feeling sad and low

When I tired of daily trials

That I have to undergo,

When those who should

Seem closest, seem like

People I don't know,

One thing can always cheer me

I know that God is near me.

One thing can always cheer me

When I do not understand

How pain and sadness

In our lives

Can get so out of hand,

When the best of human efforts

Doesn't meet the days demands,

One thing can always cheer me

I know that God is always near me.

One thing can always cheer me

More than anything I've known

And show me I will never

Have to struggle on my own

For no matter what might happen

I will never be alone

The thing that will always cheer me

Is just knowing God is near me.

Our lives are in God's loving

Hands, in everything we do

He is with us constantly,

He always sees us through.

And if our faith is strong enough

We'll never walk alone,

For with His great and perfect love

He takes care of His own.

Obstacles

An old farmer had plowed around a large rock in one of his fields for years.

He had broken several plowshares and a cultivator on it and had grown rather

morbid about the rock.

After breaking another plowshare one day, and remembering all the trouble

the rock had caused him through the years, he finally decided to do

something about it.

When he put the crowbar under the rock, he was surprised to discover that it

was only about six inches thick and that he could break it up easily with a

sledgehammer. As he was carting the pieces away he had to smile, remembering

all the trouble that the rock had caused him over the years and how easy it

would have been to get rid of it sooner.

O Blessed Virgin Mary

O BLESSED Virgin Mary, who can worthily repay thee thy just dues of praise

and thanksgiving, thou who by the wondrous assent of thy will didst rescue a

fallen world? What songs of praise can our weak human nature recite in thy

honor, since it is by thy intervention alone that it has found the way to

restoration?

Accept, then, such poor thanks as we have here to offer, though they be

unequal to thy merits; and, receiving our vows, obtain by thy prayers the

remission of our offenses. Carry thou our prayers within the sanctuary of

the heavenly audience, and bring forth from it the antidote of our

reconciliation. May the sins we bring before Almighty God through thee,

become pardonable through thee; may what we ask for with sure confidence,

through thee be granted.

Take our offering, grant us our requests, obtain pardon for what we fear,

for thou art the sole hope of sinners. Through thee we hope for the

remission of our sins, and in thee, O blessed Lady, is our hope of reward.

Holy Mary, succor the miserable, help the fainthearted, comfort the

sorrowful, pray for thy people, plead for the clergy, intercede for all

women consecrated to God; may all who keep thy holy commemoration feel now

thy help and protection.

Be thou ever ready to assist us when we pray, and bring back to us the

answers to our prayers. Make it thy continual care to pray for the people of

God, thou who, blessed by God, didst merit to bear the Redeemer of the

world, who liveth and reigneth, world without end. Amen.

Mother Teresa Said...

The aim of taking a retreat is to advance in the knowledge and love of God,

to purify ourselves, and to reform and transform our lives according to the

life of our model, Jesus Christ. It is not so much a looking back on the

achievements and failures of the past, as a looking forward to a more

generous imitation of our Lord Himself.
