Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Hello my friends! Hope you all had a great day!! It was a nice, sunny day for the Family Reunion at my nephew's. We all had a great dinner - my sister, Deil, brought chicken, she bought it cooked - it was broasted and so good, she also made apple bars and potato salad, she just makes too much!!! And at her age, she doesn't slow down. OK - guess what? Erma was there!!! YES! She got a ride with her daughter and was there for the day, she did have oxygen on though, but she said she was feeling much better. To think just a few days ago, last weekend, she was hardly breathing when they found her when she didn't show up for supper. Also my sister, Sister LaDonna, was there, she got a ride too - she had two surgeries for terrible hemorrhoids and at first wasn't going to come, but she's better and she came too!! We were all there and had a picture taken of us all - it got put on Facebook even!! What a blessing today was!! Lori went with us, so that was nice, too! Very nice! Lots of food - as everyone brings something.

Each day there are lessons to learn and lives to touch. Lord, You

have done so much for me. Help me to repay You.

Scripture for the day:

"And he will destroy on this mountain the shroud that is cast over all
peoples, the sheet that is spread over all nations; he will swallow up
death forever. Then the Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from all
faces, and the disgrace of his people he will take away from all the
earth, for the LORD has spoken. It will be said on that day, Lo, this is
our God; we have waited for him, so that he might save us. This is the
LORD for whom we have waited; let us be glad and rejoice in his
salvation." ~Isaiah 25:7-9

Meditation for the day:

We can live today in the consciousness of God's contact, upholding us in
all good thoughts, words and deeds. If sometimes there seems to be a
shadow on our lives and we feel out of sorts, we can remember that this
is not the withdrawal of God's presence, but only our own temporary
unwillingness to realize it. The quiet gray days are the days for doing
what we must do, but we can know that the consciousness of God's
nearness will return and be with us again, when the gray days are past.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may face the dull days with courage. I pray that I may
have faith that the bright days will return.

Food for Thought:
UGLY BIRDHOUSE
By Marion Smith

Galatians 5:22

“That is one ugly birdhouse, “ I thought, as I took my early
morning walk on a new route. “Wonder why the people who own that
property don’t do something to spruce the drab birdhouse up? They
could sand and paint it, or decoupage a scene on it…something, for
goodness sake!” Just as I was mulling over all these constructive
critical thoughts in my mind(!), a beautiful bluebird flew out of the
above mentioned birdhouse. He soared off into the air, with the
beauty of his open wings in full display.

The unattractive appearance of the birdhouse made no
difference to that little bird. He saw an appealing place to make his
home - to build his nest- and he entered it and did so. Inside the
wooden house, the nest is intricately woven and is made of twigs,
leaves and a variety of other materials from nature.

Do you know God wants to build His nest of love inside our
hearts? The exterior appearance doesn’t matter to Him- whether we are
spruced up and beautiful or dried out and weather beaten. When God
looks at you, or me, or any of His children, He sees a wonderful place
to make His home. He wants to bring us all His attributes, and will
build a tightly woven nest of love in our hearts. He will take twigs
of compassion, love, joy, patience, , peace, gentleness, kindness,
goodness and self control, and weave them into a wonderful love nest
for our hearts to dwell in. The best component of God’s love is
forgiveness. He weaves that twig of forgiveness throughout the entire
nest, holding it together. He is ready to forgive all our sins, and
this forgiveness we receive allows us to soar to the heights of a
personal relationship with Him.

I am so glad God chooses His dwelling place in the hearts of
all…. Not just those with polished exterior appearances. For outward
appearances and beauty will fade, but the love the Lord has for us
never will.

MY DAILY CREED
Author Unknown

Let me be a little kinder,

Let me be a little blinder

To the faults of those about me.

Let me praise a little more,

Let me be, when I am weary,

Just a little bit more cherry.

Let me serve a little better,

Those that I am striving for,

Let me be a little braver

When temptations bid me weaver.

Let me strive a little harder

To be all that I should be.

Let me be a little meeker,

With the brother that is weaker,

Let me think more of my neighbor

And little less of me.

House Cleaning

Last Week I threw out WORRYING,
It was getting old and in the way.
It kept me from being me,
I couldn't do things my way.
I threw out those inhibitions,
They were just crowding me out.
Made room for my New Growth,
Got rid of my old dreams and doubts.

I threw out a book on MY PAST
(didn't have time to read it anyway).
Replaced it with New Goals,
Started reading it today.
I threw out childhood toys
(remember how I treasured them so)?
Got me a NEW PHILOSOPHY too,
Threw out the one from long ago.

Bought in some new books too,
Called I CAN, I WILL, and I MUST.
Threw out I might, I think and I ought.
WOW, You should've seen the dust.
I ran across an OLD FRIEND,
Haven't seen him in a while.
I believe his name is GOD,
Yes, I really like His style.

He helped me to do some cleaning
And added some thing's Himself.
Like PRAYER, HOPE and FAITH,
Yes I placed them right on the shelf.
I picked up this special thing
And placed it at the front door.
I FOUND IT - its called PEACE.
Nothing gets me down anymore.

Yes, I've got my house looking nice.
Looks good around the place.
For things like Worry and Trouble
There just isn't any place.
Its good to do a little house cleaning,
Get rid of the old things on the shelf.
It sure makes things brighter,
Maybe you should TRY IT YOURSELF.

Have you noticed?
+++++++++++++++++++

Have you noticed how beautiful the world is today? Have you
seen some of the fresh, new opportunities that are coming to
life?

Have you remembered today what a unique and wonderful
blessing it is to be alive? Can you feel the richness that
lives in this very moment?

Do you understand how truly fortunate you are to be you? Can
you see the magnificent possibilities that are close enough
to touch?

Do you realize the immense value that your thoughts and
actions are able to create? Do you feel the power of your
own special purpose?

This is not just any day. It is the day that you now have to
work with, and a day in which you can accomplish so very
much.

Open yourself to the best possibilities. This day is now
yours to fulfill.

Ralph Marston

PRAYER AGAINST EVERY EVIL

Spirit of our God, Father, Son , and Holy Spirit, Most Holy Trinity,
Immaculate Virgin Mary, angels, archangels, and saints of Heaven, descend
upon me. Please purify me, Lord, mold me, fill me with Yourself, use me.
Banish all the forces of evil from me, destroy them, vanquish them, so that
I can be healthy and do good deeds. Banish from me all spells, witchcraft,
black magic, malefice, ties, maledictions, and the evil eye; diabolic
infestations, oppressions, possessions; all that is evil and sinful,
jealousy, perfidy, envy; physical, psychological, moral, spiritual,
diabolical ailments. Burn all these evils in h ell, that they may never again
touch me or any other creature in the entire world. I command and bid all
the powers who molest me -- by the power of God all powerful, in the name of
Jesus Christ our Savior, through the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin
Mary -- to leave me forever, and to be consigned into the everlasting h ell,
where they will be bound by Saint Michael the archangel, Saint Gabriel,
Saint Raphael, our guardian angels, and where they will be crushed under the
heel of the Immaculate Virgin Mary. Amen.

Prayer for Peace of Heart

Almighty and Eternal God
Give me, I beseech You
the great gift of inward peace
Command the winds and storms
of my unruly passions.
Subdue, by your grace, my proneness
to love created things too much,
Give me a love of suffering for your sake.
Make me forbearing and kind to others,
that I may avoid quarrels and contentions.
And teach me constantly to seek after
and to acquire that perfect resignation
to Your Holy Will
which alone brings interior peace. Amen

Hello everyone:

Gloria: The pic is beautiful. So glad you can have all your sisters with you. What a blessing.

{{{shorelady}}} Good to see you - one day at a time. You are travelling on a road with no experience - it will take time.

I need to tend to a family matter so I might not check in for a few days.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Hello To All! Gloria, enjoying those who have been lovingly selected to share our life with is a most wonderful blessing. I am sure your sisters were more than happy to see you and the others.

Saw a girlfriend I haven't seen I weeks and that was a blessing for me. I comforted her as she'd had her feelings hurt and she was back at her life after our visit.

Take care all. I am so grateful for this nation, her citizens, her allies, her troops, her many blessings. We have so much and I am so very grateful and appreciative. I look for all the blessings and the lessons to teach me how to love more. Be at peace and know you are loved.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Good morning!

Gloria, sounds like everyone had a wonderful time. I saw the picture and you are all lovely ladies.

Hey, Harlene, have a great Sunday.

Cakers, hope you have a great day, as well.

Love Roses, you were there at the right time to bring solace to a friend. You were just what she needed!

Not a whole lot going on. My son is returning from Louisville today and my daughter and grandsons come home tomorrow. Keep a prayer for them, thanks!

I talked to my youngest grandson yesterday and he told me that Disney World was boring because they've done it all before AND...there was nothing to do! Nothing to do and bored in Disney World! Have you ever heard???!!! My daughter told him that other kids would love to have a trip like that. He was mad because she wouldn't let him on the Ipad...so...she told him that she could put him in child care and he could spend the rest of his time with the little kids and she and my other grandson would go and finish having a good time. Needless to say...he had an attitude adjustment! In more ways than one! lol

We got out early this morning and went to a produce stand, got peas, potatoes and okra. Lots of good eating right there! Tomorrow will be meatless Monday. We bought enough okra that I will cut up, bag and freeze. Need to do the same with tomatoes and peaches so I will get them soon.

Keep our country and world in your prayers. So much turmoil, sorrow, pain, suffering, the list just goes on. I know that the Lord knows all and has his plan, my trust is in him. We have so much to be grateful for.

Peace and blessings to all.
