Be sensitive to the feelings of others and show the same forgiveness and compassion
that the Lord gives to you. Lord, give me the wisdom to know when to speak
and when to listen.
Scripture for the day:
"Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and
slander, together with all malice, and be kind to one another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children, and live in love, as
Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and
sacrifice to God." ~Ephesians 4:31-5:2
Meditation for the day:
We cannot believe in God and keep our selfish ways. When we believe
more strongly in God, we begin to abandon our selfish ways. The old
self can shrivel up and die, and God's image can become much clearer.
The gradual elimination of selfishness in the growth of love for God and
our fellow human beings is a wonderful goal in our lives. As the
picture grows, we can reveal more and more of the likeness of God until
those who see us can see in us the power of God's grace at work in a
human life.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may grow in my likeness to God. I pray that others may
see in me some of the power of God's grace at work.
Hello my friends, Well one family reunion is over and another one tomorrow. It was a great blessing that Lori drove to Mpls. for this - and we all had a great time visiting with my sisters, and nephews and nieces - and some of their kids. Nice day - lots of food - and lots of love!

If Your Hands and Your Heart Are His, Nothing Is Impossible
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Is 55:1-3 / Rom 8:35, 37-39 / Mt 14:13-21
There was pastor who used his computer to create a personalized printed program for every Baptism. To make each one special, he’d use the computer’s “search & replace” function to find the name of the last baby baptized and then replace it with the next baby’s name. So one Saturday evening, the priest told his computer to find the name “Mary,” last week’s baby, and to replace it with “Edna,” the next day’s baby. Next morning, everything went smoothly till the congregation reached the Apostles’ Creed and found themselves saying, “…And we believe in Jesus Christ, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Edna…”
So often our best intentions go awry, and before we get very old, the reality of our personal limitations becomes painfully clear. The Apostles in Sunday’s gospel knew their limits only too well, especially when they stood next to Jesus. So when Jesus looked at the crowd of about 15,000 and told the Apostles to feed the people, they were truly abashed.
“We have no money, and only five loaves and two fish! What can we do?”
“Bring them to me,” said Jesus, who blessed the little basket of food and then gave it back to the apostles. “Now,” He said. “Feed them!” And they did. As they broke off pieces of bread and gave them away, somehow, there was still something there — just enough for the next hungry person, and then the next, and the next….
Eventually, we all have to face challenges that seem utterly beyond us: salvaging a dead business, breathing life into a soured marriage, walking with a troubled teen who doesn’t want anyone near them, standing helplessly at the side of a dying friend. And we feel like those Apostles, trying to feed 15,000 with five loaves. “It can’t be done!” we say. And we’re right, if we’re trying to do it on our own. But we don’t have to do it alone. That’s the whole point of Jesus becoming one of us. He came not just to talk to us, but to walk with us, and to make the impossible possible for us. Remember what St. Paul says about this very thing: “I can do all things in Him who strengthens me.”
We can do what’s needed, even if the task seems utterly beyond us, if we put ourselves in the Lord’s hands, just as the Apostles put that little basket of food in Jesus’ hands. Flawed and weak as we are, the Lord can make us enough, just enough, for the work He’s asked us to do.
So look hard at the work that God has given you at this time in your life. Don’t run away from it. Name it, accept it, and then put your whole self in God’s hands. You’ll be amazed at what He can do with you, if He has full possession of your heart and your hands. The impossible will become possible!
Nobody's Friend
My name is Gossip.
I have no respect for justice.
I maim without killing.
I break hearts and ruin lives.
I am cunning and malicious
and gather strength with age.
The more I am quoted
the more I am believed.
My victims are helpless.
They cannot protect themselves against me
because I have no name or face.
To track me down is impossible.
The harder you try,
the more elusive I become.
I am nobody's friend.
Once I tarnish a reputation,
it is never the same.
I topple governments
and wreck marriages.
I ruin careers and cause sleepless nights,
heartaches and indigestion.
I make innocent people cry in their pillows.
Even my name hisses.
I am called Gossip.
I make headlines and headaches.
Readers,
before you repeat a story,
ask yourself:
Is it true?
Is it harmless?
Is it necessary?
If it isn't, don't repeat it.
DEAR FOOL
Author Unknown
Dear Fool,
I saw you yesterday as you began your daily chores. You awoke
without kneeling to pray. As a matter of fact, you didn't even bless
your meals or pray before going to bed last night. You are so
unthankful. I like that about you!
I cannot tell you how glad I am that you have not changed your way of
living. Fool, you are mine. Remember, you and I have been going steady
for years, and I still don't love you yet. As a matter of fact, I hate
you, because I hate God. I am only using you to get even with God.
He kicked me out of heaven and I'm going to use you as long as
possible to pay Him back. You see, Fool, GOD LOVES YOU and HE has
great plans in store for you. But you have yielded your life to me and
I'm going to make your life a living h ell. That way we'll be together
twice. This will really hurt God, thanks to you. I'm really showing
Him who's boss in your life. With all of the good times we've had...We
have been watching dirty movies, cursing people out, partying,
stealing, lying, being hypocritical, fornicating, overeating, telling
dirty jokes, gossiping, back-stabbing people, disrespecting old people
and those in leadership positions. NO
respect for the church, bad attitudes...
Surely, you don't want to give all of this up. Come on, Fool, let's
burn together forever. I've got some hot plans for us. This is just a
letter of appreciation from me to you. I'd like to say "THANKS" for
letting me use you for most of your foolish life.
You are so gullible, I laugh at you. When you are tempted to sin, you
give in. HA, HA, HA! You make me sick. Sin is beginning to take its
toll on your life. You look 20 yrs. older. I need new blood, so go
head and teach some children how to sin. All you have to do is smoke,
over indulge in alcoholic beverages, drugs, lie, cheat , gamble,
gossip, fornicate, be prideful (remember that's why God kicked me out
of heaven). Do all of this in the presence of children and they will
do it, too. Kids are like that.
Well, Fool, I have to let you go for now. I'll be back in a couple of
seconds to tempt you again. If you were smart, you would run
somewhere, confess your sins, live for God with what little bit of
life that you have left. It's not my nature to warn anyone, but to be
your age and still sinning, it's becoming a bit ridiculous. Don't get
me wrong, I still hate you...It's just that you'd make a better fool
for Christ.
Your partner in crime,
SATAN
PS - And if you really love me, you won't share this letter with
anyone!
Jesus Help Me
Jesus Help me. In every need let me come to you with a humble trust saying, Jesus help me. In all my doubts, perplexities and temptations, Jesus help me. In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials, Jesus help me. In failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments, troubles and sorrows, Jesus help me.
When others fail me and your grace alone can assist me, Jesus help me. When I throw myself on your tender love, as my Lord and Savior, Jesus help me. When my heart is cast down by failure at seeing no good coming from my efforts, Jesus help me.
When I am ill and my head and hands cannot work and I am lonely, Jesus help me. Always, Always, in spite of weariness, falls and shortcomings of every kind, Jesus help me and never forsake me.
Almighty Lord, before you I come with all my faith, begging you for comfort in my difficulties. Do not forsake me, My Lord. Open your doors, that your almighty arms will open and close as you design to give that tranquility that I so desire.
Oh my God! Receive my supplication from a wounded heart that is always fighting for me with your Divine power. Never let me scramble for want of help.
Almighty Lord, assist me to find shelter in your celestial bounty forever.
Amen
Good night every one! Sweet Dreams to all and have a very Blessed Sunday!
