Hello my friends!!! Well today was another rainy day. It's almost a record for Minnesota for rains. Seems like everyday some rain comes. We went to town after he got home from work at 2 for some groceries and it poured!! Today my girls are together with friends in Mpls. and Greg, too. I saw on facebook pictures of them on a pontoon - must have been between rains! Nice to see on Facebook what the girls are doing right then. That's a blessing! Tomorrow night we see them again - another blessing! Every day is a blessing, we just need to stop and count them!! Praying for all of you!!! Cakers, how was your out to eat with family? Must have been great!!
God can calm your fears, bring rest to your worry and fix your broken heart
if
only you give Him all of the pieces. Lord, I ask You to fill me with Your
peace
as I turn my troubles over to You.
Scripture for the day:
"Do not forsake me, O LORD; O my God, do not be far from me; make haste
to help me, O Lord, my salvation." ~Psalm 38:21-22
Meditation of the day:
It is not our circumstances that need altering so much as ourselves.
After we have changed, conditions will naturally change. We need spare
no effort to become all that God would have us become. We can follow
every good leading of our conscience. We can take each day with no
backward look. We can face the day's problems with God, and seek God's
help and guidance as to what we should do in every situation that may
arise. We need never look back. We need not leave until tomorrow the
thing that we are guided to do today.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that God will help me to become all that God would have me be.
I pray that I may face today's problems with good grace.
Reverence of the Eucharist
This solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) brings
before us the worship of the Blessed Sacrament so that we may celebrate the
wonderful works of God, signified by the sacrament and accomplished by the
paschal mystery of Christ. Again we resolve to do our best to share in the
eucharistic sactrifice and to have it more profoundly influence our lives,
to have great reverence for the presence of Christ the Lord in this
sacrament, and to offer the thanks due for God´s gifts.
PERSONAL PRAYER
Heavenly Father, holy is this feast in which Christ is our food; His passion
is recalled; grace fills our hearts and we receive a pledge of the glory to
come! As we celebrate it with thanksgiving let it be for your Church a
spiritual enrichment, that we may carry out in our lives the mysteries we
celebrate. As we who are many share in the one bread, let us be brought
together in harmony and peace. You give us this feast for our strength and
nourishment, may it restore health to the sick and bring hope to sinners. In
the Eucharist we proclaim your death and resurrection, grant that all who
die in you may share in your resurrection. Amen.
Be Yourself
Be strong enough to face the world each day.
Be weak enough to know you cannot do everything.
Be generous to those who need your help.
Be frugal with what you need yourself.
Be willing to share your joys.
Be willing to share the sorrows of others.
Be a leader when you see a path others have missed.
Be a follower when you are shrouded in the midst of uncertainty.
Be the first to congratulate an opponent who succeeds.
Be the last to criticize a colleague who fails.
Be sure where your next step will fall, so that you will not stumble.
Be sure of your final destination, in case you are going the wrong way.
Be loving to those who love you.
Be loving to those who do not love you, and they may change.
Above all, be yourself!
The Jack in Us
A man named Jack was walking along a steep cliff one day, when he
accidentally got too close to the edge and fell.
On the way down he grabbed a branch, which temporarily stopped his fall. He
looked down and to his horror saw that the canyon fell straight down for
more than a thousand feet. He couldn't hang onto the branch forever, and
there was no way for him to climb up the steep wall of the cliff. So Jack
began yelling for help, hoping that someone passing by would hear him and
lower a rope or something. "HELP! HELP! Is anyone up there?"
He yelled for a long time, but no one heard him. He was about to give up
when he heard a voice. "
“Jack, Jack, can you hear me?"
"Yes, yes! I can hear you. I'm down here!"
"I can see you, Jack. Are you all right?"
"Yes, but who are you, and where are you?"
"I am the Lord, Jack. I'm everywhere."
"The Lord? You mean, GOD?"
"That's Me. "
"God, please help me! I promise if, you'll get me down from here, I'll stop
sinning. I'll be a really good person. I'll serve You for the rest of my
life. "
"Easy on the promises. Jack. Let's get you off from there - then we can
talk." "Now, here's what I want you to do. Listen carefully.
"I'll do anything, Lord. Just tell me what to do."
"Okay. Let go of the branch. "
"What?"
"I said, let go of the branch. Just trust Me. Let go."
There was a long silence. Finally Jack yelled.
"HELP! HELP! IS ANYONE ELSE UP THERE?"
Have you ever felt like Jack? We say that we want to know the will of God,
but when we find out what it is, we can't handle it. Sounds too scary, too
difficult. We decide to look elsewhere. When He says, "Let go of the things
that stand between you and Me. and trust Me with your life," it sounds
pretty scary. But when we let go, we find freedom and safety in His hands. .
" Have a Blessed Day and remember that Jesus Loves You
Move Your Mind Forward
Whatever you dwell upon in your mind, you give power to. So of course it
makes sense to focus on what you want rather than what you don't want. Yet
there are many ways in which the things you don't want can sneak into your
thinking.
Worry and doubt focus your thinking on what you don't want. Rather than
worrying about the bad things that might happen, direct your actions toward
making positive things happen.
Complaining can also get your mind sidetracked into thinking about what you
don't want. What do you complain about? The things you don't like. Rather
than complaining, take action. Action moves you toward what you do want.
Anger is one more way to get your thinking negatively directed. Rather than
getting angry about what you don't like, use that energy to give you
determination for what you want to achieve.
Keep your mind positively focused on the good things that life can offer.
Those things will grow stronger and more abundant in your world.

ARE YOU WAITING TO BE CALLED?
Back when the telegraph was the fastest method of long-distance
communication, a young man applied for a job as a Morse Code operator.
Answering an ad in the newspaper, he went to the office address that was
listed.
When he arrived, he entered a large, busy office filled with noise and
clatter, including the sound of the telegraph in the background. A sign on
the receptionist's counter instructed job applicants to fill out a form and
wait until they were summoned to enter the inner office.
The young man filled out his form and sat down with the seven other
applicants in the waiting area. After a few minutes, the young man stood up,
crossed the room to the door of the inner office, and walked right in.
Naturally the other applicants perked up, wondering what was going on. They
muttered among themselves that they hadn't heard any summons yet.
They assumed that the young man who went into the office made a mistake and
would be disqualified.
Within a few minutes, however, the employer escorted the young man out of
the office and said to the other applicants, "Gentlemen, thank you very much
for coming, but the job has just been filled."
The other applicants began grumbling to each other, and one spoke up saying,
"Wait a minute, I don't understand. He was the last to come in, and we never
even got a chance to be interviewed. Yet he got the job. That's not fair!"
The employer said, "I'm sorry, but the last several minutes while you've
been sitting here, the telegraph has been ticking out the following message
in Morse Code: 'If you understand this message, then come right in. The job
is yours.' None of you heard it or understood it. This young man did. The
job is his."
We are so busy living in a world that is full of noise and clatter, like
that office. People are distracted and unable to hear the still, small voice
of God as He speaks in creation, in the Scriptures, and in the life and work
of Jesus Christ.
So I ask you, as I ask myself, "Are you listening, or are you waiting to be
called? Do you hear the Lord when he speaks to you?

Meditations by Padre Pio
I end here because the bell is calling me and urging me. I am going to the
wine press of the church, to the holy altar where the sacred blood of that
delicious and singular grape, with which only very few are allowed to
inebriate themselves, drips continually. There - and you know I cannot do
otherwise - I will present you to the Heavenly Father in union with His Son,
to whom, for whom, and through whom I am totally yours in the Lord (Letters
III p 593).
Take My Hand....
Are you troubled, burdened, blue?
Take my hand.
I've been troubled, too,
I understand.
Where you've fallen, once I fell --
Let me help the clouds dispel --
Take my hand.
Others helped when I was weak,
Took my hand,
Helped me face toward the peak,
Helped me stand.
What they did, now let me do --
Pass the kindness on to you.
Someday you'll help others, too.
Take my hand.
AMEN !!
Mother Teresa Favorite Sayings
I work for the people, because I feel I must do something. People are generally irrational, unreasonable and selfish. They deserve to be loved, anyway. It's law of nature that the good you do, will be forgotten tomorrow. But the good work must be carried on. Your honesty and frankness will expose you to problems but your work should not stop for it means the world to so many people. Years of your hard work may be destroyed overnight, that should not deter you from building upon your hard work. Despite giving your best to the world, you may be kicked in the teeth. Give the best you've got anyway. Places like Calcutta can be seen all over the world if you have eyes to see. Developed countries suffer from poverty of understanding, poverty of will, of loneliness, of lack of love and spirit. There is no greater disease in the world today than this. When you don't have anything, then you have everything. The person who gives with a smile is the best giver because God loves a cheerful giver. It is not the size of our actions but the amount of love and care that is put into them that matters. You should never lose heart. God is merciful and kind- he has endowed you with the best gift- smile, which can make millions happy. Show kindness through your face, your eyes, your smile and through the warmth of your greetings. You must bear a cheerful smile. Don't only give your care, but give your heart as well.

Hi, Gloria it's nice that you are having such a nice time with your two girls. I
think Darla will like one of the Ford's we have an Escape and we love it.
I told you all a couple of days ago that sadly we had to put our little rat terrier down. Well the best thing we could do to heal that wound be to get another puppy. We were searching for two days and found a little Chihuahuas in Strousburg pa. He is one quarter Shitsu and three quarters Chihauhua. He is all white with a light rusty so course his name is Rusty. He's a cute little guy. Actually he is helping me type this right now, well he is really sleeping on my chest. LOL!
Counting my blessings.

Praying all is okay for Bobbiesue!!
tearoses - Welcome to our thread!!!Thanks for praying for Bobbiesue - and hope you come here again, would love to get to know you!
Harlene - what a wonderful way to stop the pain of losing your darling dog!! We did the exact same thing when Ashley (14) died, exactly 3 weeks later Sammy came here at 7 weeks! He made us laugh again! Of course we still missed our beloved Ashley, but he sure made the pain much more bearable! I do hope they decide on the Ford Focus. I tried to call her tonight, she can hardly talk!! I wonder why she lost her voice! She has no idea!!
Cakers - No flooding where we live! Far from it! Today it didn't rain!! Sun is out all day but windy!!
