Hello my friends! Had Ollie here all day -but he was so relaxed, and didn't bother me at all for playing with him, that was good. He's getting better that way now and that's a blessing. Just an ordinary day here today - even with Ollie - and our everyday blessings are always treasured too! Praying for you all for all your needs. Wishing to hear from Shorelady and Felicia - how are you?
Be patient with others, but mostly be patient with yourself. Lord, help me
to keep a smile on my face and to realize my goodness and refuse to dwell
on my imperfections.
Scripture for the day:
Jesus was praying in a certain place, and after he had finished, one of
his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his
disciples." He said to them, "When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be
your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. And
forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us.
And do not bring us to the time of trial." ~Luke 11:1-4
Meditation for the day:
I need not become weary in prayer. When one day we see how unexpectedly
our prayer has been answered, then we may deeply regret that we have
prayed so little. Prayer can change things for us. We can practice
praying until our trust in God has become strong. And then we can pray
on, because it has become so much a habit that we need it daily. We can
keep praying until prayer seems to become communion with God. That is
the note on which true times of prayer can end.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may form the habit of daily prayer. I pray that I may
find the strength I need, as a result of this communion.
Time to Plant Your Garden
Plant three rows of Peas:
Peace of mind.
Peace of heart.
Peace of soul.
Plant four rows of Squash:
Squash gossip.
Squash indifference.
Squash grumbling.
Squash selfishness.
No garden should be without Turnips:
Turnip for service when needed.
Turnip to help one another.
Turnip the music and dance.
Plant four rows of Lettuce:
Lettuce be faithful.
Lettuce be kind.
Lettuce be happy.
Lettuce really love one another.
To conclude our garden we must have Thyme:
Thyme for fun.
Thyme for rest.
Thyme for others.
Thyme for ourselves.
Water freely with patience and cultivate with love.
We reap what we sow -- you 'should' have a bountiful garden.

Best Time of My Life
It was June 15, and in two days I would be turning thirty. I was insecure
about entering a new decade of my life and feared that my best years were
now behind me.
My daily routine included going to the gym for a workout before going to
work. Every morning I would see my friend Nicholas at the gym. He was
seventy-nine years old and in terrific shape. As I greeted Nicholas on this
particular day, he noticed I wasn't full of my usual vitality and asked if
there was anything wrong. I told him I was feeling anxious about turning
thirty. I wondered how I would look back on my life once I reached
Nicholas's age, so I asked him, "What was the best time of your life?"
Without hesitation, Nicholas replied, "Well, Joe, this is my philosophical
answer to your philosophical question:
"When I was a child in Austria and everything was taken care of for me and I
was nurtured by my parents, that was the best time of my life."
"When I was going to school and learning the things I know today, that was
the best time of my life."
"When I got my first job and had responsibilities and got paid for my
efforts, that was the best time of my life."
"When I met my wife and fell in love, that was the best time of my life."
"The Second World War came, and my wife and I had to flee Austria to save
our lives. When we were together and safe on a ship bound for North America,
that was the best time of my life."
"When we came to Canada and started a family, that was the best time of my
life."
"When I was a young father, watching my children grow up, that was the best
time of my life."
"And now, Joe, I am seventy-nine years old. I have my health, I feel good
and I am in love with my wife just as I was when we first met. This is the
best time of my life."

That's HIM!
Not long ago, somewhere in the hinterlands of Mindanao, a grim tragedy
happened. A frustrated father shot dead his wife before finally turning the
gun on himself, pulling the trigger. The entire scene was witnessed by a
lone survivor, a seven year old boy---the couple's only son. They were so
impoverished that his parents thought it was the only way out. Relatives
from both sides grieved and pitifully wanted to adopt the orphaned child but
they were also very poor. Fortunately, a priest from a nearby town agreed
to look after him in his parish locality. It was difficult for volunteer
workers in the church to communicate with the boy because he seemed to be
always in a state of shock. Teaching was not any easier since he did not
have any educational foundation at all, sad to say, illiterate.
One afternoon, while the young lad was attending Catechism class the Church
was conducting for the less fortunate children in the neighborhood, the
teacher was showing an enlarged poster of Jesus Christ. As he was going
around the room, he asked his class,"Do you know who this is?" Every child
had a puzzled look as they silently stared at the photo. Suddenly, amid the
eerie silence, the boy stood up with eyes wide open and pointing to the
poster, "That's HIM! He was the one who was with me at the moment my parents
died!", he screamed repeatedly in his native dialect.
Everybody in the room did not know what to say, especially those who knew of
the boy's history.

Good evening everyone. Yes, Harlene, I am definitely going to start taking the cranberry pills. I can't drink the juice because there is too much sugar in it. I do hope it will work as a preventative God willing.
Hope everyone has a nice rest of the evening.....

Serenity - the organic cranberry juice is sugar free - it's just plain, but more bitter because it doesn't have any sweetner in it, I do like the organic blueberry juice, it's good for that too, my doctor said. But the capsules work too.
