Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Many more things go right in a day than go wrong, but you will never
notice if that one trying moment becomes your focus. Lord, help me
make a conscious effort to see the richness of my life and live with
gratitude for all of its wonders.

Scripture for the day:
"When you send forth your spirit, they are created; and you renew the
face of the ground." ~Psalm 104:30

Meditation for the day:
We need not yield to weariness of the spirit. At times, the world's
cares and distractions can intrude and the spirit can become weak. At
times like this, we can carry on and soon the spirit will become
strong again. God's spirit is always with us, to replenish and renew.
None of us has ever sincerely sought God's help in vain. Physical
weariness and exhaustion make a time of rest and communion with God
more necessary. When we are overcome by temporary conditions which we
cannot control, we can keep quiet and wait for the power of the spirit
to flow back.

Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may not speak or act in the midst of emotional upheaval.
I pray that I may wait until the tempest is past.

Hello my friends! Yes, many things go right in a day than go wrong - Linus had a good day at work, his feet were not so bad - he had an hour off for lunch, and took off his shoes, and then he did take two tyl. and the rest of the day went well - he was covered in prayer, and he thanks you all for praying. He works 7 hours tomorrow - so please continue to cover him in prayer - he calls this week a week from h ell. Five days in a row. But what a blessing for him today - he was tired, he was the only one on the floor and was really busy, but his feet weren't giving him trouble like they usually do! Another blessing was a call from my sister, Deil. I tried to call Sister LaDonna, but she wasn't home, so I emailed her.
We had a bad storm late afternoon so I didn't try calling back. We got 3 1/2 inches of rain - it just rained buckets upon us. Sirens went - but I didn't see any tornadoes. I saw on the news at 10 tonight other places where there was a lot of damage, but not here! Another blessing! Thank God for no hail! I was home alone, just a bit scared when I heard the sirens, but I couldn't see anything so that helped. I was thankful that Sammy didn't have to go out during that time. I think it freaked him anyway!
Hope your day went well.

Devotion to the Sacred Heart
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Dt 7:6-11 / 1 Jn 4:7-16 / Mt 11:25-30
Now as the devotion to the Sacred Heart makes us true and faithful adorers of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, and as it consecrates us in a special way to this mystery, it procures for us the greatest sweetness from it.
One would say that our Savior measures the special favors which He confers in this Sacrament by the number of insults which He has endured in it, and as there is no mystery in which He has received so many outrages, there is also no other mystery in which He fills with such sweet consolations those who do all in their power to make reparation for these outrages.
As the motive of this holy practice is so pure and agreeable to Jesus Christ, we should not be surprised if the best and holiest of all masters shows such sweetness to His grateful and faithful servants, especially at a time when gratitude is rare, and when so little eagerness to serve Him and so little true love are found even in those who make a profession of loving Him.
From The Devotion to the Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ

Because of my sins
I know that because of my sins,
I don´t deserve Your Mercy,
but I ask You to remember
Saint Faustina´s
spirit of sacrifice and self-denial,
and to be gracious
to her faithful love of You
by granting the petition
which I make to You now,
with childlike trust
through her intercession.
Amen.

A Light For God's House
In a mountain village in Europe a long time ago, a nobleman wondered what gift he could present to his townspeople. At last he decided to build them a church. No one saw the complete plans for the church until it was finished. When the people gathered, they marvelled at it's beauty. Then someone asked, "But where are the lamps? How will it be lighted?"
The nobleman pointed to some brackets in the walls. Then he gave each family a lamp, asking them to bring these with them each time they came to worship. "Each time you are in church, the area where you are seated will be lighted," the nobleman said. "Each time you are not here, that area will be dark. This is to remind you that whenever you fail to come to church, some part of God's house will be dark."

A Perfect Heart
One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley. A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart, for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in it.
Yes, they all agreed, it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen. The young man was very proud, and boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart.
Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said "Why, your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine." The crowd and the young man looked at the old man's heart. It was beating strongly, but was full of scars. It had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn't fit quite right and there were several jagged edges. In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing.
The people stared. How can he say his heart is more beautiful?, they thought. The young man looked at the old man's heart and saw its state and laughed. "You must be joking," he said. "Compare your heart with mine. Mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears." "Yes," said the old man, "Yours is perfect looking but I would never trade with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love. I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart which fits into the empty place in my heart, but because the pieces aren't exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared. Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn't returned a piece of his heart to me. These are the empty gouges - giving love is taking a chance. Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for these people too, and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is?"
The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked up to the old man, reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece out. He offered it to the old man with trembling hands. The old man took his offering, placed it in his heart and then took a piece from his old, scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young man's heart. It fit, but not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges.

Good Things To Remember
God writes with a pen that never blots,
speaks with a tongue that never slips,
and acts with a hand that never fails.
God can heal a broken heart, but He has
to have all the pieces.
God has a history of using the insignificant
to accomplish the impossible.
God never asks about our ability or
inability - just our availability.
Without God the world would be a maze
without a clue.
Many millions search for God and find
Him in their hearts.
Sometimes God calms the storm; sometimes
He lets the storm rage and calms His child.
God always gives His best to those who
leave the choice with Him.
When God measures a man, He puts the tape
around the heart instead of the head.
God does not wish us to remember what He
is willing to forget.
God has two dwellings - one in heaven and
the other in a grateful heart.
God is more interested in making us what He
wants us to be than in giving us what we
think we ought to have.
The man who walks with God always knows in
what direction he is going.
In order to receive the direction from God
you must be able to receive the correction
from God.
The measure of a man is not how great his
faith is but how great his love is.
To forgive is to set a prisoner free and
discover the prisoner was You.
Let us so live that when we die, even the
undertaker will be sorry.
You can preach a better sermon with your
life than with your lips.
Christianity is a religion of paradoxes:
The way up is down; the way to get is to
give; the way to be first is to be last;
and the way to live is to die.
Most people wish to serve God - but only
in an advisory capacity.
Christianity helps us to face the music
even when we don't like the tune.
A Christian...Is a mind through which Christ
thinks, Is a heart through which Christ lives,
Is a voice through which Christ speaks, Is a
hand through which Christ helps!
Most men forget God all day and ask Him to
remember them at night.
Some people complain because God put thorns
on roses while others praise Him for putting roses on thorns.

ARE YOU WAITING TO BE CALLED?
Author Unknown
July 1, 2011
Back when the telegraph was the fastest method of long-distance
communication, a young man applied for a job as a Morse Code operator.
Answering an ad in the newspaper, he went to the office address that
was listed.
When he arrived, he entered a large, busy office filled with noise and
clatter, including the sound of the telegraph in the background. A
sign on
the receptionist's counter instructed job applicants to fill out a
form and
wait until they were summoned to enter the inner office.
The young man filled out his form and sat down with the seven other
applicants in the waiting area. After a few minutes, the young man
stood up, crossed the room to the door of the inner office, and walked
right in.
Naturally the other applicants perked up, wondering what was going on.
They
muttered among themselves that they hadn't heard any summons yet.
They assumed that the young man who went into the office made a
mistake and would be disqualified.
Within a few minutes, however, the employer escorted the young man out
of the office and said to the other applicants, "Gentlemen, thank you
very much for coming, but the job has just been filled."
The other applicants began grumbling to each other, and one spoke up
saying, "Wait a minute, I don't understand. He was the last to come
in, and we never even got a chance to be interviewed. Yet he got the
job. That's not fair!"
The employer said, "I'm sorry, but the last several minutes while
you've been sitting here, the telegraph has been ticking out the
following message in Morse Code: 'If you understand this message, then
come right in. The job is yours.' None of you heard it or understood
it. This young man did. The job is his."
We are so busy living in a world that is full of noise and clatter,
like that office. People are distracted and unable to hear the still,
small voice of God as He speaks in creation, in the Scriptures, and in
the life and work of Jesus Christ.
So I ask you, as I ask myself, "Are you listening, or are you waiting
to be called? Do you hear the Lord when he speaks to you?

Being today is the Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus - here will be our closing prayer:
Prayer for the Feast of the Sacred Heart
God of love,
when we abandoned you
for a world made in our image, You did not forget us.
Nor did you ignore the violence,
the injustice,
and the misery caused by our sin.
Instead, you sent your only Son,
who is the image of your love for us.
He allowed his heart to be pierced,
that we might live.
Gracious God,
we thank you for your mercy.
In grateful love,
we offer you our lives in reparation.
We pledge our common life and ministry
to the work of justice and life,
the good news of reconciliation,
and the task of showing the world
the depths of your abundant grace,
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Good night everyone - sweet dreams - God bless you all - see you tomorrow!
