Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends!

Hope you are having a great Friday! Heard from Darla - I mentioned this on the last thread - that the Dean of Metro State University offered the job to her, but for 25G less than what she's worth, so she says she will negotiate with him. Please help us pray it all works out and she will be coming home!!! Too bad the offer is not good, but maybe he can make it right for her to come - this is what we pray! I'm back in the entertaining again, feeling better now. Tomorrow night Fr. Jerry is having Mass at our Parish, and coming here after that for supper and visit. Sunday our friends, Ray and Ann are coming for an early supper and fellowship after. Then Monday night is our Card Club play-offs, Linus has to work, so Fr. Jerry's sister, Shirley will be my partner for it, she's looking forward to it! And Monday Lori comes home and so do her animals! Praying for you all - thanks for your prayers for us!

Making decisions is not difficult if we know our values. Lord, bless me

with the ability to know myself and the strength of good conscience.

Scripture for the day:

"Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes

refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge." ~Psalm 57:1

Meditation for the day:

God can irradiate our lives with the warmth of God's spirit. We can open up

like a flower to this divine irradiation. We can loosen our hold on the

earth, its cares and its worries. We can unclasp our hold on material

things, relax our grip, and the tide of peace and serenity can flow in. We

can relinquish every material thing and receive it back again from God.

We need not hold on to the earth's treasures so firmly that our hands are

too occupied to clasp God's hand as God holds it out to us in love.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be open to receive God's blessing. I pray that I may be

willing to relinquish my hold on material things and receive them back from

God.

IMPOSSIBLE

By Sally I. Kennedy

“For nothing is impossible with God." Luke 1:37

Kids were climbing all over the large half-grapefruit. Others were

swarming onto the waffles with butter and sticky syrup. Starfruit,

kiwi, and orange slices garnished the ‘plate’.

A bunch of children climbing on fruit and waffles. Impossible.

Impossible! Unless, of course, it is a play area with equipment

created to look edible.

It’s true that ‘nothing is as it seems’, and ‘there’s always a bigger

picture’. Recently I’ve heard many stories from and about persons who

are in ‘impossible’ situations, all different kinds.

If you happen to fall into that category today, or you know someone

who does, it’s good to remember the Hope of a great God-promise,

that’s given twice in the book of Luke. The Message says, "No chance

at all," Jesus said, "if you think you can pull it off by yourself.

Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it." (Luke 18:27)

No matter what things look like, you and God are an overwhelming

majority. And nothing is impossible with God.

That is good news.

Searching for God

O Lord my God,

Teach my heart this day where and how to see you,

Where and how to find you.

You have made me and remade me,

And you have bestowed on me

All the good things I possess,

And still I do not know you.

I have not yet done that

For which I was made.

Teach me to seek you,

For I cannot seek you

Unless you teach me,

Or find you

Unless you show yourself to me.

Let me seek you in my desire,

Let me desire you in my seeking.

Let me find you by loving you,

Let me love you when I find you.

Saint Anselm

By Your Holy Cross

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By your holy cross, O Lord,
you have saved the universe
which has wandered from your love,
lost in darkness; now returned,
redeemed by your loving death upon the cross.
We adore your cross.
Cross of love and cross of life,
key of Heaven, path to light,
which leads to you, Lord,
leading to your Heavn'ly home.
May we follow you and worship you, O Lord,
you have saved us by your cross.
The Heart of a Child
Matthew 18:4 "I tell you the truth, unless you change
and become like little children, you will never enter
the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles
himself like one of these children is the greatest in the
kingdom of heaven."
When we are children there's a part of us
that is open to love, and faith and trust.
Through a little child's laughter and teary eyes
we grow older and that part of us dies.
Innocence lost, is so hard to regain.
We get forgiven but hold on to the pain.
But Jesus said to the crowd roaring wild;
"Come to me with the heart of a child."
It's so hard to open ourselves up to others,
we're afraid to trust our own sisters and brothers.
But there is a love so costly and dear,
a love strong enough to cast out fear.
Let's take off our masks and drop the facade
and live like the children of the Living God.
Take a chance, you may be betrayed if you risk it all
but He'll be there to catch you when you slip and fall.
There's a holy laughter, and tears so pure,
there's an innocence that will always endure.
There's a dream and vision, an endless sea,
the tingling of life in a heart set free.
Nothing to prove, no possessions to hold
but a joy and peace more precious than gold.
It's a beautiful place, fiery and wild
when we return to the heart of the child.
Remember that our Father to whom we pray
considers us His children each day
and like little children we must learn to rely
on the love of our Father who reigns on high.
So much prejudice to forget and unlearn,
it's the heart of the child for which we yearn.
We can't enter heaven with a heart defiled,
it must change through Jesus to the heart of the child.
The Kindness Pledge
I Resolve to:
1. Speak kindly of someone at least once a day.
2. Think kindly about someone at least once a day.
3. Act kindly toward someone as least once a day.
4. Avoid speaking unkindly to anyone.
5. Avoid acting unkindly toward anyone.
Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine, after the rain....
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall;
But God's always ready, to answer your call....
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
a word from His lips, can calm every fear...
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, dawn's early light...
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above,
to give you His grace, and send you His love...
Meditations by Padre Pio
May Mary be the star which shines on your path, and May she show you the
safe way to reach the Heavenly Father. May she be like an anchor to which
you must be more closely attached in time of trial.
