Greetings to my friends! Today's blessings was a nice day - the snow was finished already when we got up, and it got into the 40 degrees today so it was very nice out. The birds are in the feeders again - finches so far. I'm waiting for my cardinal to show up again! I get one every year. It was a blessing playing cards again after being cooped up in the house since the 23rd of March - getting out in the sun was great! This couple we played this afternoon was for the month of March but we were too sick to go out - so we played them today and tomorrow night we play the April couple and then we're caught up for the play-offs. I'm feeling better - another blessing - Thank you, Jesus, for blessings all around us!
Avoid using the words 'If only...' and 'I should have...'. These can
destroy
your peace of mind and even your health. Lord, help me to stop punishing
myself for past mistakes and live in the peace of the present.

Meditation for the day
I can work for God, with God and through God's help. By helping to bring
about a true fellowship of human beings, I am working for God.
I am also working with God because this is the way God works, and God is
with
me when I am doing such work. I cannot do good work, however, without God's
help. In the final analysis, it is through the grace of God that any real
change in human personality takes place. I can rely on God's power, and
anything I accomplish is through God's help.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may work for God and with God. I pray that I may be used to
change human personalities through God's help.
A PRAYER
Dear Lord:
Every single evening
As I'm lying here in bed
This tiny little prayer
Keeps running through my head.
God bless my mom and dad,
And other family.
Keep them warm and safe from harm
For they're so close to me.
And God, there is one more thing
I wish that you could do.
Hope you don't mind me asking,
Bless my computer too.
Now I know that it's not normal
To bless a mother board,
But listen just a second
While I explain to you my Lord.
You see, that little metal box
Holds more than odds & ends
Inside those small compartments

A Blue Rose
Having four visiting family members, my wife was very busy, so I offered to
go to the store for her to get some needed items, which included light
bulbs, paper towels, trash bags, detergent and Clorox. So off I went.
I scurried around the store, gathered up my goodies and headed for the
checkout counter, only to be blocked in the narrow aisle by a young man who
appeared to be about sixteen-years-old. I wasn't in a hurry, so I patiently
waited for the boy to realize that I was there. This was when he waved his
hands excitedly in the air and declared in a loud voice, "Mommy, I'm over
here."
It was obvious now, he was mentally challenged and also startled as he
turned and saw me standing so close to him, waiting to squeeze by. His eyes
widened and surprise exploded on his face as I said, "Hey Buddy, what's your
name?"
"My name is Denny and I'm shopping with my mother," he responded proudly.
"Wow," I said, "that's a cool name; I wish my name was Denny, but my name is
Steve."
"Steve, like Stevarino?" he asked. "Yes," I answered. "How old are you
Denny?"
"How old am I now, Mommy?" he asked his mother as she slowly came over from
the next aisle.
"You're fifteen-years-old Denny; now be a good boy and let the man pass by."
I acknowledged her and continued to talk to Denny for several more minutes
about summer, bicycles and school. I watched his brown eyes dance with
excitement, because he was the center of someone's attention. He then
abruptly turned and headed toward the toy section.
Denny's mom had a puzzled look on her face and thanked me for taking the
time to talk with her son. She told me that most people wouldn't even look
at him, much less talk to him.
I told her that it was my pleasure and then I said something I have no idea
where it came from, other than by the prompting of the Holy Spirit. I told
her that there are plenty of red, yellow, and pink roses in God's Garden;
however, "Blue Roses" are very rare and should be appreciated for their
beauty and distinctiveness. You see, Denny is a Blue Rose and if someone
doesn't stop and smell that rose with their heart and touch that rose with
their kindness, then they've missed a blessing from God.
She was silent for a second, then with a tear in her eye she asked, "Who are
you?"
Without thinking I said, "Oh, I'm probably just a dandelion, but I sure love
living in God's garden."
She reached out, squeezed my hand and said, "God bless you!" and then I had
tears in my eyes.
May I suggest, the next time you see a BLUE ROSE, don't turn your head and
walk off. Take the time to smile and say Hello. Why? Because, by the grace
of GOD, this mother or father could be you. This could be your child,
grandchild, niece or nephew. What a difference a moment can mean to that
person or their family.
From an old dandelion! Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak
kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Gloria Jean, I have come here to read your posts, they comfort me, I don't post much. Love to read everyone's though.
I just lost my Husband of 50 years and I'm just heart broken. Can't sleep, not eating and just crying all the time. Your scriptures and prayers are very helpful to me, thank you for them.
I know there is a widow's thread but I feel like the ladies there are all friends and I don't want to interfere.
God Bless YOU for the time you take to post, seems like God has given you a mission for helping people, and you have with me.

My dear friend.....So sorry for your loss. I, too, am a widow and post on the Widows Thread. You are most welcome to come there and post. The ladies would love to meet you and talk to you. Please come. Again, I am sorry for your loss and may God be with you now and forever.

Bobbisue, thank you for your kind words. I have been so taken by the thread for Widows,
but can't seem to take the steps to post there yet. Gloriajeans post got me because of the "if" only I did this and I think of so many heartache decisions that we made. My Husband was my rock, my soul mate and the love of my life. I'm happy I can share that with you.
Please accept my sorrow for your loss also. It's just so heart breaking. My Husband went quickly, did not suffer. That's a blessing.....

phluphy - I'm so very sorry for your loss - I'm sure bobbiesue's widow's thread will help you somewhat, but you are ALWAYS WELCOMED here too. I'm glad that you find some comfort in what I send here. Thanks for your post - know that we will pray for you here, and post again - say whatever you feel like saying, we are here for you, dear! Talk about your husband, what he died of, it all helps to talk about him - please do. You are fortunate to have had him for 50 years!! I will be married 50 years this August.

Gloriajean, sure hope and pray that Linus is much better, and that he will never have to go back on that medication. Always saying a prayer for you and your loved ones.
Bobbisue, I hope you got to enjoy your 70 degree weather. Prayers continue for you and your loved ones.
Serenity, Harlene, Felicia, Love Roses, Lucy, hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. Harlene, how is your brother? Love Roses, I think of Skip quite often and hope things are going well for him. Lucy, prayers continue for your hubby, and how about your son? Still praying that the right job will come for him. Felicia, hope the stint has been removed and that you are on the road to a full recovery.
Phluphy, welcome to the Positive Thread! Like you this thread also has helped me many times. I am sorry that you lost your husband. My prayer for you that God will grant you peace and rest, and that He gives you the strength and faith that only He knows best.
Like the verse above...I ask that the Lord will fill our hearts with His presence, that He will give us a strong desire. A desire to look at His Word each day. That it may be hidden in our hearts, so we don't stray from His truth. That it will feed us each day so we can draw closer to Our Lord Jesus Christ, Our Savior.
And at night time, Psalm 63:5-6"...with singing lips my mouth will praise You. On my bed I remember You; I think of You through the watches of the night."
My blessings, I will be off to work in a little while. Spring flowers are blooming, the trees are budding out. My apple tree smells so good. Thank You Lord for all these things, and especially for my eyes, to see such wonders, and my nose to smell those blooms on the apple tree. Thank You for my senses, what a great Creator You are!
