Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends! Tonight I ask you all to please say a prayer for my husband and he's trying to get off Effixor, and is on an alternate holistic one recommended by his doctor. He's having a hard time and needs prayers. His Effixor is triple the price that it used to be, so it's not affordable. So I just ask for your prayers, please. Tonight Lori has a date with Steve!! Going to a good restaurant, he picks her up and brings her back, like a true date! Only because of work, the dates are few, but they do keep in contact by text or phone. Wishing and praying for all of you to have your prayers answered!

If you look for the light side in all things, you will keep yourself alive

and healthy. Lord, may I be able to see the good in my experiences,

even in my most challenging moments.

Scripture for the day:

"When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were

harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." ~Matthew 9:36

Meditation for the day:

Having compassion for all who are in temptation, a condition which we

are sometimes in, we have a responsibility toward them. Compassion

always includes responsibility. Pity is useless because it does not

have a remedy for the need. But wherever our compassion goes, our

responsibility goes too. When we are moved with compassion, we can go

to the one in need and bind up their wounds as best we can.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may have compassion for those in temptations. I pray

that I may have compassion for the trials of others.

In Christ we have ....

A love that can never be fathomed,

A life that can never die,

A righteousness that can never be tarnished,

A peace that can never be understood,

A rest that can never be disturbed,

A joy that can never be diminished,

A hope that can never be disappointed,

A glory that can never be clouded,

A light that can never be darkened,

A purity that can never be defiled,

A beauty that can never be marred,

A wisdom that can never be baffled,

Resources that can never be exhausted.

Jesus is our all in all!

"Stay awake, because you do not know the day when your master is coming" (Mt

24:42)

Coincidence or Miracle?

I was asked the other day if I believed in coincidences.

I said that, "No I don't believe that there are any coincidences in this

life. I do believe that there are miracles in this life, however. I see more

proof of them everyday."

Just look at the world around us. Is it a coincidence that the sun rose so

beautifully today that it filled countless hearts and souls with wonder,

love, peace, and joy?

It seemed more like a miracle to me. Is it a coincidence that life developed

so intelligently and perfectly on this world?

Is it coincidences that birds know to fly south each winter, that the

seasons change and flowers bloom each spring, and that thousands upon

thousands of different plants and animals live, grow, and thrive here?

It seems to me more like a hundred million miracles created by a glorious,

joyous mind and a loving hand.

Look at your own lives as well. Is it a coincidence that you accidently

walked into the wrong room and met the person who changed your life and

blessed you with love?

Is it a coincidence that you followed a silent urge to turn off the road

before you had to and later learned you avoided a deadly accident because of

it?

Is it a coincidence that you were on the verge of despair and then heard a

song, or read a line, or got a call that lifted your spirits and

strengthened your soul once again?

Are they all coincidences or are they all little miracles created by God and

His angels to guide you, protect you and help you to ever greater love, joy,

and goodness in your life?

Embrace the miracles in your life then. Embrace the miracle of life. Rejoice

in these miracles and use them to choose and share ever more love and joy

with others.

It's not a coincidence that God put you in their life. You're there to share

his miracle of life!

Celebrate in the knowledge that you are loved, cared for, and watched over

by God and always remember that Life is full of Miracles not coincidences.

The Apple Tree

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and

play around it everyday. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, took a

nap under the shadow... He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with

him. Time went by... the little boy had grown up and he no longer played

around the tree everyday. One day, the boy came back to the tree and he

looked sad.

"Come and play with me," the tree asked the boy.

"I am no longer a kid, I don't play around trees anymore." The boy replied,

"I want toys. I need money to buy them."

"Sorry, but I don't have money... but you can pick all my apples and sell

them. Then you will have money." The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the

apples on the tree and left happily. The boy never came back after he picked

the apples. The tree was sad.

One day, the boy (now a man), returned and the tree was so excited. "Come

and play with me" the tree said.

"I don't have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house

for shelter. Can you help me?"

"Sorry, but I don't have a house. But you can chop off my branches to build

your house." So the man cut all the branches of the tree and left happily.

The tree was glad to see him happy but the man never came back since then.

The tree was again lonely and sad.

One hot summer day, the man returned and the tree was delighted. "Come and

play with me!" the tree said.

"I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you

give me a boat?"

"Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy." So

the boy cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed

up for a long time.

Finally, the man returned after he left for so many years. "Sorry, Sir, but

I don't have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you..." the tree

said.

"I don't have teeth to bite" the man replied.

"No more trunk for you to climb on"

"I am too old for that now" the man said.

"I really can't give you anything... the only thing left is my dying roots"

the tree said with tears.

"I don't need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these

years." The man replied.

"Good! Old tree roots is the best place to lean on and rest. Come, Come sit

down with me and rest." The man sat down and the tree was glad and smiled

with tears...

This is a story for everyone. The tree is our parents. When we were young,

we loved to play with Mom and Dad... When we grew up,we left them... only

come to them when we need something or when we are in trouble. No matter

what, parents will always be there and give everything they can to make you

happy. You may think the boy is cruel to the tree but that is how all of us

are treating our parents. love your parents, no matter where they are.

RENEW PRAYER

Lord,We are your people,

the sheep of your flock.

Heal the sheep who are wounded,

Touch the sheep who are in pain,

Clean the sheep who are soiled,

Warm the lambs who are cold.

Help us to know the Father's love

through Jesus the Shepherd

and through His Spirit.

Help us to lift up that love,

and show it all over this land.

Help us to build love on justice

and justice on love.

Help us to believe mightily,

hope joyfully,

love divinely.

Renew us that we may renew

the face of the earth.

Amen.

Lord Jesus, give me your peace.

Give me confidence in the depths of danger.

Give me hope when I am surrounded by fear.

Still my worries, calm the anxieties pressing in

on me from the world I live in.

Lord Jesus, give me your peace.

Reassure me that you are with me when I seem alone.

Ease my doubting, as you did Thomas'.

Lord Jesus, give me your peace.

Guide my searching for peace,

so that I may not seek it where it is not to be found,

but I may seek it in you.

Lord Jesus, live in me and give me your peace.

Amen

The Friend Who Just Stands By

When troubles come your soul to try,

You love the friend who just stands by.

Perhaps there's nothing she can do,

The thing is strictly up to you.

For there are troubles all your own,

And paths the soul must tread alone.

Times when love can't smooth the road,

Nor friendship lift the heavy load.

But just to feel you have a friend,

Who will stand by until the end.

Whose sympathy through all endures,

Whose warm handclasp is always yours.

It helps somehow to pull you through,

Although there's nothing she can do.

And so with fervent heart we cry,

God Bless the friend who just stands by.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Gloria, the medication your husband takes has a generic and it costs $10.00 for a ninety day supply at Walmart......fluoxetine. A thirty day supply is $4.00. Maybe you can check it out with his physician. Also there are a number of incentive programs where the drug manufacturer offers a reduced rate on various prescriptions. I found one for a medication that I take where I am saving hundreds of dollars a year by getting their card and showing it to my pharmacist. They charge me $50.00 for a three month supply whereas it would cost me even with insurance close to $600.00 for the same prescription without the card.

I hope that might be of some help to you.

Blessings to all that post here and have a wonderful weekend.Smile

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Welcome to Mayflower! Thanks for posting, do come and post again and thanks much for your kind words!

serenity - thanks much for your information. Right now he's seems better with the holistic meds. Praise God!

Felicia - Thanks for your prayers for my husband - today seemed better than yesterday, Lori's date didn't happen - his boss made him work instead, so he was so bumbed out about it. It's happened before. She says we should pray when he gets a new boss in a month and a half that he'll be more lenient with him. Glad you like the thread! God uses it for His people and know just what they need!
