Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends! Here's hoping you all had or are having a nice Valentine's day today. Our weather is nice out, sun shining, and we went to our fav restaurant for lunch today, it was so nice! We haven't been there for awhile, and we walk in and have such a warm reception. I mean hugs and called by our first names! Such a nice place! And Jim wasn't even there, but his brother and the waitress knows us - and it was fun! Tonight is their wine tasting dinner there, and it's a full house there now! I'll include that in our blessings today! Also I want to share another blessing - a nice, long talk on the phone with Darla! She had a good phone interview. What they do is the top 3 that they get they fly there for the interview at campus and the one they like best gets the job. Praying.

Be inspired to try something new and much of what you dream can

become your life. Lord, thank you for giving me the freedom of choice,

and grant me the courage to experience my opportunities and create

new ones.

Scripture for the day:

"There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every

affair under the heavens." ~Ecclesiastes 3:1

Meditation for the day:

There is a time for everything. We can learn to wait patiently until

the right time comes. Easy does it. We can waste our energies in

trying to get things before we are ready to have them, before we have

earned the right to receive them. A great lesson we have to learn is

how to wait with patience. We can believe that all our life is a

preparation for something better to come when we have earned the right

to it. We can believe that God has a plan for our lives and that this

plan will work out in the

fullness of time.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may learn the lesson of waiting patiently. I pray that

I may not expect things until I have earned the right to have them.

You give me strength

Holy Spirit when I am weak, You give me strength to carry on.

You comfort me each time I seek Your loving arms to lean on.

You are the Father that I need. You have the wisdom that I lack.

You give me courage to succeed, when I alone, would have turned back.

I may have crosses in my life, but I will never know despair;

for when I seek you in my strife, I know so well you will be there.

and this one:

Jesus Help Me

Jesus Help me. In every need let me come to you with a humble trust saying,

Jesus help me. In all my doubts, perplexities and temptations, Jesus help

me. In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials, Jesus help me. In failure

of my plans and hopes, in disappointments, troubles and sorrows, Jesus help

me.

When others fail me and your grace alone can assist me, Jesus help me. When

I throw myself on your tender love, as my Lord and Savior, Jesus help me.

When my heart is cast down by failure at seeing no good coming from my

efforts, Jesus help me.

When I am ill and my head and hands cannot work and I am lonely, Jesus help

me. Always, Always, in spite of weariness, falls and shortcomings of every

kind, Jesus help me and never forsake me.

Almighty Lord, before you I come with all my faith, begging you for comfort

in my difficulties. Do not forsake me, My Lord. Open your doors, that your

almighty arms will open and close as you design to give that tranquility

that I so desire.

Oh my God! Receive my supplication from a wounded heart that is always

fighting for me with your Divine power. Never let me scramble for want of

help.

Almighty Lord, assist me to find shelter in your celestial bounty forever.

Amen

Please Do It On Your Knees

Well, I hear people who are talkin'

about people most everywhere I go----

To hear them tell it they were there when it

happened, there's nothin' that they don't know.

Well, you may not approve of the things I do

but if you're gonna talk about me,

make sure what you're sayin' is done while

you're prayin'---and please do it on your knees.

The Book says brothers will love one another

but love doesn't need any words.

It's proven by the things we do and not say --

for actions speak louder than words.

There will always be people who will talk about people

but if you're gonna talk about me,

then tell it to Someone who can do somethin' about it

and please do it on your knees.

You can tell the Lord all the things I've done

that didn't seem right to you,

but don't tell your neighbor 'cause

he can never give me the grace to see me through.

You can tell Him all about how weak I am

and pray that He'll strengthen me--

you can talk about me any time you wanna

but please do it on your knees.

Mother Teresa Said...

Love one another as I have loved you.

As the Father loves me, love one another.

Meditations by Padre Pio

Reflect upon and keep before your mental gaze the great humility of the

Mother of God, our Mother. The more She was filled with Heavenly gifts, the

more deeply She humbled Herself.

Are You Strong Enough to Be Meek?

By the late Father Kilian McGowan, C.P.

Used with permission, from the Passionist Priests

What's wrong with meekness? Is the meek man a Milquetoast who is too

spineless and weak-kneed to face up to the battle of life? This is the

false face of meekness spread by our TV and modern novels. Life to them is

an "asphalt jungle" where every difference is settled by a six-gun or a pair

of fists. Strength is equated with violence and brutality.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The meek man has the courage of

the martyrs, the reverence of the poet, and the patience of a saint in his

make-up. Meekness is the son of self-conquest and father of self-control.

The meek man has studied hard in the school of Christ Crucified, who was

meek and humble of heart.

You don't really need a show of force, or external bluster, or a display of

self-righteousness to overwhelm those who do you wrong. You must overcome

your enemies with the force of the divine life that flows in and through

you. You must conquer the world-and your enemies-with the love of Christ.

Have you noticed that the most excessive demands always seem to be made on

you when you're at your physical or nervous worst? Remember that our Lord

rebuked His apostles for trying to spare Him from the thoughtless crowds

that pressed about Him following and exhausting apostolic day: "Suffer the

little children to come unto me and forbid them not," He commanded them.

What do you do when insulted or rejected by otherwise good people? Perhaps

even by those you love? Recall what Christ said to the Apostles who wanted

to rain down fires from heaven on the cities that refused Him entrance. He

warned them that they knew not of what spirit they were. (Luke 19:55).

What happens when a trusted confidant or friend betrays you in speech or

action? Peter, who swore he would go to the death with the Savior, betrayed

Him in His hour of greatest need. Yet Christ's only rebuke was a look of

infinite tenderness and meek forgiveness. Was it any wonder that this look

brought tears of immediate repentance?

The truth is that even a little meekness takes a lot of strength. Now, more

than ever, the world filled with so much violence needs truly meek men. The

times call for the manliness of meekness more than the false courage of

violence and uncontrolled anger. We need the self-conquest of meekness more

than the self centeredness of hate and brutality. We need the meekness and

humility of Christ.

Helps to Meekness:

1-Reverence every other person, regardless of race, color of skin, or

religious background, as a child of God and a potential saint.

2-Compassionate with your healing strength the weaknesses and faults of

others no matter how vicious and mean. Begin at home, remembering that no

one can hurt you when you are truly meek.

3-When your best efforts are unappreciated, or your wise counsel is ignored,

go your way in peace. Prayer is another tool of meekness that heals and

wins souls after words and actions have failed.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Happy Sat. to all who post and read. Jesus takes care of me. I'm so blessed to be loved by Jesus. It is 25 here and sunny. The snow is melting. I have no place to go, so I will put on a pot of tea and watch TV. QVC has a garden show on all day. A bit much I think.

How are you and Linus feeling Gloria? When the weather gets warmer I plan to go to mass on a regular basis. I miss it.

Blessings to all who come here and I am counting my blessings. God bless you all.

For some reason I am thinking of Cakers. I hope she is well. I said a prayer for her and her family.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello everyone,

My blessing today...I get to go and work for six hours. I am thankful that they will call me when I am needed. The money is so needed, especially since I can't seem to get ahead, from the cold winter, and everything seems to continue to go up. I know I'm not the only one...may God help all of those who are reading with their finances. May God help all those who have health issues. May God help all those with emotional issues. Our God is good! May you feel Jesus' Presence today.

Gloriajean and Bobbisue, hope that you both have a wonderful weekend.

Keeping all in my prayers. Thank you for yours! Until next time...

Take Care and God Bless!

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Just wanted to drop by and tell you that you are on my mind and in my thoughts and prayers.

My husband and I were talking today about the worries and problems in the world. I reminded him that no one is immune from troubles. The other day on facebook I saw something that puts it all into perspective...

"The bad news is, nothing lasts forever. The good news is, nothing lasts forever."

Have a good evening, peace and blessings.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello Bobbiesue - we are okay - thanks for asking and thanks for your prayers! With our weather here, we, too, haven't been going to Daily Masses - but we will again soon. Weekend Masses is a must for us - we surely would miss that if we didn't go. We need our spiritual boost! Just like we need our physical boost, we also need our spiritual one. I'm glad you miss it and will get back to it soon.

Juanita - that job of yours certainly is a blessing for you! We sure need that help with finances too, and trust that God will provide - and He does. May you feel Jesus' presence today, too. What a nice thought!

Lucy - that's so true, but - the good news is that Jesus is Forever!! He lasts forever!! And so do our souls! Praying for your dear husband.

Cakers - so nice to see you again here!!! Thanks for your presence here.
