Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

The ordinary things we do each day are often taken for granted

and make us feel unimportant. Lord, help me change my thinking

so that I can happily see that the little things I do are very important

and that I do make a very big difference.

Scripture for the day:

"You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of

joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore." ~Psalm 16:11

Meditation for the day:

Faith is the messenger that bears our prayers to God. Prayer can be

like incense, rising ever higher and higher. The prayer of faith is

the prayer of trust that feels the presence of God which it rises to

meet. It can be sure of some response from God. We can pray a prayer

of thanks to God every day for God's grace, which has kept us on the

right way and allowed us to start living the good life. So we can

pray to God with faith and trust and gratitude.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may feel sure of God's response to my prayers. I pray

that I may be content with whatever form that response takes.

Hello my friends! Today was a good day the Lord gave us! This morning we had our new young priest, Father Joe, over for Breakfast for the first time. He is enjoyable. He's about 29. I made whole wheat apple pancakes - he loved it! Linus needed to go the eye doctor this morning and our neighbor took him, he couldn't drive because his eyes were being dilated. His eyes are good and doesn't need new glasses. Just came home from a delicious fish fry our neighboring Church is serving, and soon we're off to Lori's to play some Wii bowling! Praying for all of you and thanks for your prayers for us!!

When I say good morning I mean to say:

G-od

O-ffers us His

O-utstanding

D-evotion to

M-ake us

O-bedient &

R-eady for a

N-ew day with Him.

I-nspire others please, and

N-ever forget

G-od loves you!

My Hand In God´s

Each morning when I wake I say,

"I place my hand in God's today;"

I know He'll walk close by my side

My every wandering step to guide.

He leads me with the tenderest care

When paths are dark and I despair---

No need for me to understand

If I but hold fast to His hand.

My hand in His! No surer way

to walk in safety through each day.

By His great bounty I am fed;

Warmed by His love, and comforted.

When at day's end I seek my rest

And realize how much I'm blessed,

My thanks pour out to Him; and then

I place my hand in God's again.

Hello! Is there too much noise in your life?

I AM your Lord God speaking!

Would you like me to speak louder?

Is it you who can't hear me already,

in the mere creation that was made by my hands;

Like the sun, which I shine on your face everyday,

or the wind, that blows through your window,

which you don't notice because your always in a hurry?

Can you not hear me in the Mass,

where I offer up myself to you through the Eucharist,

in a homily where my child speaks my words,

in the Bible - where I teach you how to live,

in prayer - where you listen and hear me speak,

or in any act of Love you experience

through another one of my children during a normal day?

I AM with you always, right here,

but unless you have time

and turn down the volume of the stereo of life,

how do you expect to hear me?

Take Up Your Cross

Take up your cross, the Savior said,

If you would my disciple be;

Deny yourself, the world forsake,

And humbly follow after me.

Take up your cross, let not its weight

Fill your weak spirit with alarm;

His strength shall bear your heart and nerve your arm.

Take up your cross then in his strength,

And ev’ry danger calmly brave,

To guide you to a better home,

And vict’ry over death and grave.

Take up your cross and follow Christ,

Nor think till death to lay it down;

For only he who bears the cross

May hope to wear the glorious crown.

To you, great Lord, the One in three,

All praise for evermore ascend;

O grant us here below to see

The heav’nly life that knows no end.

Maybe. . .we were supposed to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so that, when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.

Maybe . . . when the door of happiness closes, another opens; but, often times, we look so long at the closed door that we don’t even see the new one which has been opened for us.

Maybe . . . it is true that we don’t know what we have until we lose it, but it is also true that we don’t know what we have been missing until it arrives.

Maybe . . . the happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Maybe . . . the brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; after all, you can’t go on successfully in life until you let go of your past mistakes, failures and heartaches.

Maybe . . . you should dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you dream of, and want to do.

Maybe . . . there are moments in life when you miss someone — a parent, a spouse, a friend, a child — so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real, so that once they are around you appreciate them more.

Maybe . . . the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you’ve ever had.

Maybe . . you should always try to put yourself in others’ shoes. If you feel that something could hurt you, it probably will hurt the other person, too.

Maybe . . you should do something nice for someone every single day, even if it is simply to leave them alone.

Maybe . . . giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back. Don’t expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart; but, if it doesn’t, be content that it grew in yours.

Maybe . . . happiness waits for all those who cry, all those who hurt, all those who have searched, and all those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of all the people who have touched their lives.

Maybe . . . you shouldn’t go for looks; they can deceive; don’t go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.

Maybe . . you should hope for enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy

Maybe . . . you should try to live your life to the fullest because when you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling but when you die, you can be the one who is smiling and everyone around you crying.

Maybe . . . you could send this message to those people who mean something to you, to those who have touched your life, to those who can and do make you smile when you really need it, to those who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down, and to all those whom you want to know that you appreciate them and their friendship.

And if you don’t, don’t worry; nothing bad will happen to you.

Think Big

Walter D. Wintle

If you think you are beaten, you are.

If you think you dare not, you won’t.

If you like to win, but don’t think you can, It’s almost a cinch that you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost,

For out in the world you’ll find

Success begins with a person’s will;

It’s all in the state of mind.

For many a game is lost

Before even a step is run

And many a coward fails

Before his work is begun.

Think big and your deed will grow;

Think small and you will fall behind.

Think that you can and you will;

It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think that you are out-classed, you are;

You’ve got to think high to rise.

You’ve got to be sure of yourself

Before you can win the prize.

Life’s battles don't always go

To the strongest or fastest man

But sooner or later the person who wins

Is the person who thinks they can.

Faith Is......

Faith Is......reliance on the certainty that God has a pattern for my life when everything else seems meaningless

Faith Is......remembering I am God's priceless treasure when I feel utterly useless

Faith Is......depending on the fact that God is love - not on my ability to figure out why, in the midst of smashed hopes, reversal and tragedy

Faith Is......keeping on when I'm dog tired, discouraged, disillusioned, deserted, dusty, and dry and I cast on His strength alone

Faith Is......realizing that I am useful to God, not in spite of my scars, but because of them

Faith Is......confidence that God is acting for my highest good when He answers "No" to my prayers

Faith Is......accepting the truth that, in spite of the wreckage and grief I've caused, God has wiped the slate clean and delights in me!

Faith Is......recognizing that God is the Lord of time when my idea of timing doesn't agree with his

Faith Is......not a vague hope of a happy here after but an assurance of heaven based on my trust in Christ's death as payment for my sins

Faith Is......remembering that, though my way is as dark as night to me, God can see and guides me unerringly

Faith Is......doing the right thing regardless of the consequences knowing God will turn the ultimate effect to good

Faith Is......the conviction the Promiser keeps His promises.
