Keep your heart clean by constant spring cleaning. Then there will be a
place
for beauty and peace. Lord, help me to remove carelessness and disrespect
from
my heart and in all things may I celebrate Your love for me.
Scripture for the day:
"What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is
spirit. Do not be astonished that I said to you, 'You must be born from
above.' The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but
you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone
who is born of the Spirit." ~John 3:6-8
Meditation for the day:
To be attracted toward God and a better life, we can be spirit-guided. There
is a wonderful illumination of thought given to those who are spirit-guided.
To those who are material-guided, there is nothing in God or a finer life to
appeal to them or to attract them. But to those of us who are spirit-guided
there is strength and peace and calm to be found in communion with an unseen
Lord. To those of us who believe in this God we cannot see but whose power
we can feel, life has a meaning
and purpose. We are children of the unseen Lord, and all human beings are
our brothers and sisters.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may attain a state of true calmness. I pray that I may live
in quietness and peace.
Hello my friends! Another hot day here again - but not unbearable, still
didn't need the AC on, heard tomorrow should be 100 degrees! He works all
day tomorrow from 10 to 7. Sunday too, unfortunately. Today when we got
our Diocesan Visitor - all the priests are there who are leaving and coming
to new parishes. Saw the two that we will be getting. Another new one for
assistant, who just got ordain last Saturday, and the Pastor looks very warm
and friendly, of course, Fr. Al knows him and said he was very nice, so
we're anxious to meet them both. They start June 26th - hope my dear hubby
can get that Sunday off. We need and want to be in OUR PARISH! It's a
must! Especially now with new priests coming, and once in a great while a
Sunday isn't that bad but 7 in a row? That's BAD. It was fun going through
that paper and seeing where a lot of them are going to, some we've known
for lots of years. Our priest now is retiring. I hope I don't bore you with
all of this, but that was my day today - Linus was at Lori's all day working
with the granite chips. Not finished yet, the granite man is coming back to
finish Monday morning. Yesterday I could hardly believe how hard Linus can
work - I peter out so fast! Praise God for him and his strength. A great
blessing!
Everyone Needs Someone
People need people and friends need friends
And we all need love for a full life depends
Not on vast riches or great acclaim,
Not on success or on worldy fame,
But just in knowing that someone cares
And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers-
For only the knowledge that we're understood
Makes everyday living feel wonderfully good,
And we rob ourselves of life's greatest need
When we "lock up our hearts" and fail to heed
The outstretched hand reaching to find
A kindred spirit whose heart and mind
Are lonely and longing to somehow share
Our joys and sorrows and to make us aware
That life's completeness and richness depends
On the things we share with our loved ones and friends.

PRAYER SEEKING GOD'S LOVE
O God, loving Father, fill me with your infinite love and affection. Let me
remain in your steadfast love. Remove from me the feeling that no one loves
me. Take away from me the sorrowful thought that I am unwanted. I am yours
and yours only. You are my refuge. Loving Father, I acknowledge with
gratitude, in your sending your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ for my
salvation. Jesus, my loving Lord, I praise you, for cleansing me of my sins
and granting me the position of a child of God, through your death on
Calvary. O Holy Spirit, love of God, come and fill me. Let the flame of the
love of God blaze in me without ever dying out. Amen.
Learning From Jesus
If you have forgotten how to love, you might pray -
"Sacred Heart of Jesus, I implore that I may ever love You more and more."
If you are insecure and anxious -
"Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You."
If you are sensitive and resentful -
"Jesus meek and humble of Heart, make my heart like Yours."
If you have too little time for others -
"Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy kingdom come."
For your own sins and mistakes -
"Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on me."
For others -
"Sacred Heart of Jesus. May you be known, loved and imitated."
From the Prayerbook of the Missionaries of Charity (Mother Teresa's Order)
Let us all become a true and fruitful branch on the vine Jesus,
by accepting Him in our lives as it pleases Him to come:
as the Truth - to be told;
as the Life - to be lived;
as the Light - to be lighted;
as the Love - to be loved;
as the Way - to be walked;
as the Joy - to be given;
as the Peace - to be spread;
as the Sacrifice - to be offered,
in our families and within our neighborhood.
Amen.
Mr. Smith was walking through a valley when he suddenly noticed that his
feet were getting wet. It then dawned upon him that this little valley of
his was actually an arm of the sea and that high tide was coming in.
He stood still and looked around to find someone with a boat. So long as he
kept waiting for a boat to come and rescue him, he kept right on standing
where he was. But no boat came.
So he gave up on that idea and then began to wish that the tide would not
rise any higher. But when the water reached his chin, he also gave up that
idea and began to swim.
Only then did he realize that he himself was a boat.
Burdens Give Us Wings
An old legend relates that long ago God had a great many burdens which he
wished to have carried from one place to another on earth, so he asked the
animals to lend a hand. But all of them began to make excuses for not
helping: the elephant was too dignified; the lion, too proud; and so on.
Finally the birds came to God and said, "If you will tie the burdens into
small bundles, we'll be glad to carry them for you. We are small but we
would like to help."
So God fastened upon the back of each one a small bundle, and they all set
out walking across the plain to their destination. They sang as they went,
and did not seem to feel the weight of their burdens at all. Every day the
burdens seemed lighter and lighter, until the loads seems to be lifting the
birds, instead of the birds carrying the burdens.
When they arrived at their destination, they discovered that when they
removed their loads, there were wings in their place, wings which enabled
them to fly to the sky and the tree tops.
They had learned how to carry their burdens, and their loads had become
wings to carry them nearer to God. Burdens we carry for others may become
wings of the spirit, to lift us into happiness such as we have never known.
Broken Branches
The wind came through my life today,
Taking branches along the way.
Some I've had for so long I felt,
They were so very strong.
But the wind stripped them from me,
Taking them far from the tree.
Scattering my life like broken branches,
Without thoughts of the damage.
To a life that is so frail,
That sometimes hangs just by a nail.
Never knowing how the wounds will leave me,
Scared, alone, and forever weeping.
The broken branches of one's life,
Comes from living and taking chances.
For if we dare not to stand in the wind,
We would grow weak from within.
Even the storms of life feed the soul,
And help us to live and to grow.
Storms remind us that we are not the ones,
That are in control.
But that we are just to live,
With what God gives us here down below.
Have you ever seen a tree,
Long after the storm has had its way?
In many ways it may have changed,
It will not look the same.
But God still takes the broken tree,
And makes it more like it should be.
Shaping the new branches here and there,
As it grows under His care.
The storms of life may rip and tear
Taking things that we feel are so dear.
But this void is the place,
That God's greatest work,
Can most take place.
When God's work on us is done,
We will be as perfect as his Son.
Romans 11:17-18
Prayer To The Sacred Heart
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, source of all goodness and healing, you have loved
me from all eternity. Now I ask for the grace to love you in return. Please
increase within me your gifts of faith, hope and love. I offer you my heart,
wounded by sin, crippled by unkindness; but not beyond your power to make me
whole again. Jesus I ask that you continue to touch me, calm me, and heal
me. Teach me to be gentle and humble of heart, to be patient and loving.
In you I love and move and have being. In you I am healed. Keep me close to
you and the life and wholeness that you bring. When I stray, give me the
grace to accept your invitation to return to you. Glory to you, O most
Sacred Heart; glory and praise and thanksgiving today and every day. Amen.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in you. (say 3 times)
Mother Teresa said...
Yesterday is gone and tomorrow has not yet come; we must live each day as if
it were our last so that when God calls us we are ready, and prepared, to
die with a clean heart.
