Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

It is you, not where you are or what you have, that makes the difference.
Lord, may I always blossom where I am planted.

"I will look to the LORD, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God
will hear me." ~Micah 7:7

We can admit our own helplessness. God will hear our prayer. Our own need
can be recognized, then we can ask God for the strength to meet that need.
But once that need is recognized, our prayer is heard above all the music of
heaven. It is not theological arguments that solve the problems of the
questing soul, but the sincere cry of that soul to God for strength and the
certainty of that soul that the cry can be heard and answered.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may be humble enough to realize my need and ask for help. I
pray that I may fell certain that God will hear and answer my prayer.

Hello my friends! We never got to the funeral this morning - he wasn't
feeling well, so I called my sister to tell my cousin that we couldn't come
because of that. We were planning on going to the noon Mass today, but he
still wasn't feeling good, so later on we went to a fish fry and now he's
good again. That fish fry has such good scalloped potatoes, baked beans,
wonderful cabbage salad, and all the fish you can eat. All that for eight
dollars a person which includes the coffee. Same place we went to last
Friday. He wants to go there again next week, which will be the last time,
they only have these in Lent. I've been busy today in re-organizing my list
and starting a new category which I will be typing out a reflection for
every day, it's called "Padre Pio's Spiritual Direction for Every Day". I
sent out a notice to my list about it asking for sign-ups for those
interested and already I have some sign-ups, so I've made the category and
entered them in it. Sign-ups keep coming in. Tomorrow I'll be doing a lot
of typing.

Prayer for Friday for Fourth week of Lent:
Loving God of forgiveness,
I come before you humbled and sad
in the face of my own repeated failings.
I hold out my hands as a petitioner would,
asking for mercy.
It is then that I feel you reach out and take my hand
in your loving grasp.
Thank you for the love you pour out on me
so lavishly.
Help me to follow more closely
in the path you have set for me,
the path of your Son.

Lenten Prayer

Father, give us the humility which realizes its ignorance, admits its
mistakes, recognizes its needs, welcomes advice, accepts rebuke. Help us
always to praise rather than criticize, to sympathize rather than condemn,
to encourage rather than to discourage, to build rather than to destroy, and
to think of people at their best rather than at their worst. Amen.

A Love Letter from Jesus

(Insert your name in the blank)

__________,I love you! I shed my own blood for you to make you clean.
You are clean now, so believe that it is true.

You are lovely in my eyes, and I created you to be just as you are.
Do not criticize yourself or get down for not being perfect in your own
eyes.
This leads only to frustration. I want you to trust Me - one step
one day at a time. Dwell in My power and in My love and be free!
Be yourself! Don't allow other people to run you.
I will guide you, if you let Me. Be aware of My presence in everything.
I give you patience, love, joy, peace and life. Look to Me for your answers.
I am your shepherd and will lead you. Follow me only! Do not ever forget
this.
Listen to Me and I will tell you My will.

Let My love flow from you and spill over to all you touch.
Do not be concerned with yourself. You are My responsibility. I will change
you,
and you will hardly know it is happening. You are to
love yourself and love others simply because I love you.
Take your eyes off yourself! Look only at Me!
I change...I create..., but not when you are trying. I won't fight your
efforts.
You are Mine. Let Me give you joy, peace, and kindness. No one else can!

Love,
Jesus

"BE A P.E.S.T."

-------------------------------------

Today, I'd like you to be a PEST to strangers. That's right, a pest.
Here's what I mean. As you go about your day, be very sensitive to people
around you, whether it be family, friends, or strangers.

Look carefully at people and ask the Lord what they need. Some people will
need you to offer up a PRAYER on their behalf. That's the "P" in PEST. You
don't even have to know someone or their name to pray for them.

Second, you may need to offer an EAR - be a good listener. Others might
need a SHOULDER cry on - friendly comfort for their heart. Some will need a
tangible TOUCH. or another type of encouragement.

Dear one, be a PEST God's way! Offer PRAYER, an EAR, a SHOULDER, or THE
TOUCH OF JESUS.

We are made for Happiness

We are made for happiness. It's the point of our existence.
Nobody ever does anything but try to make themselves happy.
So why isn't everybody happy?
Because we do not seek happiness where it is found: in God.

We seek happiness in almost everything. Food, sx, money, power, the usual
suspects.
And these things provide a measure of happiness, to be sure.
Indeed, some forms of happiness are nobler than others but even the lowest
are good as far as they go.
A really good piece of chocolate is good, but not as noble and good
as the happiness derived from friendship, or the love of a spouse.
But even these nobler forms of happiness are not, in the end, enough.
After that good marriage, the great job, the involvement in the charitable
work,
the adopted children, even the life of self-sacrifice such as Mother
Teresa's,
the soul still cries out for happiness which is ultimately found only in
God.

Compared to that happiness, all our happiness is like straw, good as it is.
Mother Teresa, who was wise, knew this and sought all her happiness in God,
where she found it.
We, who are often fools, seek ultimate happiness here on earth.
But when what is good becomes the rival of what is best, it becomes an
idol - the tent of the wicked.
That is why our life is a long process of dying to ourselves and living to
God.

God desires that we have what is best, not that we settle for what is second
best.
Today, ask God for what is best and receive it with joy. It's the only way
to happiness.
