Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends, Well we will soon be celebrating the birthday girl's early birthday within the hour, as she'll be in Guatemala on the 24th. Darla and Greg will soon be here at our house. Lori is getting her ankle X-rayed now because it may be broken alittle. She's going anyway. Says it's not that bad.

If everyone thought alike, no one would have to do much thinking.
Lord, bless me with the strength of my convictions and the ability
to disagree when necessary without being disagreeable.
S C R I P T U R E F O R T H E D A Y

"Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to
give you the kingdom." ~Luke 12:32

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

The life-line, the line of rescue, is the line from the soul to God.
On
one end of the life-line is our faith and on the other end is God's power.
It can be a strong line and no soul can be overwhelmed who is linked to God
by it. I can trust in this life-line and never be afraid. God can save me
from doing wrong and from the cares and troubles of life. I can look to God
for help and trust God for aid when I am emotionally upset.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that no lack of trust of fearfulness will make me disloyal to God. I
pray that I may keep a stronghold on the life-line of faith.
A Balanced Life
My life has been balanced
with pleasures and trials,
I've had many teardrops
and thousands of smiles.
I've soared to the moon
and I've plunged to the sand,
My life has been balanced
by God's loving hand.
I've had many friendships
I've had a few foes,
In the life of a Christian
that's the way that it goes.
Should I just accept
only good from God's hands?
No, I must endure
whatever He plans.
But I can be sure
and you can be, too,
All things work for best
as God deals with you.

Be A Family
A Meditation by Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

You are to be a family, to be that presence of Christ to each other. God has sent the family to be His Love. Love each other tenderly as Jesus loves each one of you.

Jesus is always there...
to love
to share
to be the joy of our life.
Jesus' love for us is unconditional
tender
forgiving
complete.
Just allow people to see Jesus in you
to see how you pray
to see how you lead a pure life
to see how you deal with your family
to see how much peace is in your family.

Thoughtfulness is the beginning of great sanctity. If you learn this art of being thoughtful, you will become more Christ like, for His Heart was meek, and He always thought of the needs of others. If we also have that kind of thoughtfulness for each other, our homes would really become the abode of God most high.

Meditations by Padre Pio

Just as the bees sometimes fly great distances without hesitation to reach fields where they have a favorite flower bed and then, tired but satisfied and laden with pollen, return to the honeycomb to complete the fertile and silent work of transforming the nectar of flowers into nectar of life; so must you after having gathered it, meditate on it with attention, examine its elements and search for the hidden meaning. It will then appear to you in all its splendor; it will acquire the power of doing away with your natural materialistic inclinations; it will have the virtue of transforming them into pure and sublime ascensions of the spirit, which will bring together ever more closely your heart with the Divine Heart of your Lord.
Jesus Calling

February 13

Peace be with you! Ever since the resurrection, this has been My watchword to those who yearn for Me. As you sit quietly, let My Peace settle over you and enfold you in My loving Presence. To provide this radiant Peace for you, I died a criminal’s death. Receive My Peace abundantly and thankfully. It is a rare treasure, dazzling in delicate beauty yet strong enough to withstand all onslaughts. Wear My Peace with regal dignity. It will keep your heart and mind close to Mine.

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” … Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
—John 20:19, 21

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
—John 14:27

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hi Gloria, That is great news about Lori's ankle! Very happy birthday to her, and safe travels as well. Hope she has an amazing time! Happy birthday to Darla's FIL too. I'm glad the dinner out was so good, and it was a nice family evening.

There is snow falling now. We expect 1-4 inches now. I have things to keep me busy, so as long as I can get to mass tomorrow, it won't bother me. My aunt from Conn. wrote about how huge the snow piles were there. It's times like this I'm glad she lives in senior housing, and doesn't drive.

Wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's day! We'll have a nice dinner here tonight to celebrate. Have a good weekend everyone! pinky

Happy Valentines Day to all here. It is snowing up a storm here. Really coming down here. I doubt that I will get out tomorrow due to the snow. I made a pot of beef vegetable soup this morning.

My blessing is that I was not hurt when I fell off my porch steps the other day. Praise God! Blessings to all here.

Gloria, Happy Birthday to your daughter and I know she will have fun in Guatemala. Tell her to buy some black bean soup. It is great! Best of health to your other daughter.
