Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

If others disappoint you, remember that God alone is perfect.
Lord, forgive me my failings as I forgive others.

Scripture for the day:

"But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute
you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he
makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the
righteous and on the unrighteous." ~Matthew 5:44-45

Meditation for the day:

"He makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on
the righteous and on the unrighteous." God does not interfere with
the working of natural laws. The laws of nature are unchangeable,
otherwise we could not depend on them. As far as natural laws are
concerned,
God makes no distinction between good and bad people. Sickness or
death may strike anywhere. But spiritual laws are also made to be
obeyed. Our success or failure in life can depend on our choice of
good or evil.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may choose today the way of the spiritual life. I pray
that I may live today with faith, hope and love.

Hello my friends! Today was busy - Linus had errands this morning, Sammy
got groomed - he looks so nice again!! Mass at noon again, lots of people
go there at noon! And after that, busy with cleaning and preparing a good
meal for our birthday girl! We had a nice visit with her - she didn't have
to go to Mpls. tonight, her cousin, Cory, was sick, so she was able to stay
here longer and visit and meet up with some friends later somewhere. Got a
nice blessing call from Ann, my best friend here, and they will pick us up
tomorrow night for the Parish Dinner and Silent Auction - our young priest,
Fr. Matthew will be singing again this year - this time Hawaiian songs being
that's the theme this year, last year it was the 50's and 60's, and he sang
Elvis and Johnny Cash songs. Oh found out that Darla isn't taking that
job - it just wouldn't pay for her - and they won't negotiate - and women
won't get paid as much as men there. And there'd be stress there too, plus
lots of transportation to and from. Thanks for your prayers that she made
the right decision. We pray God puts her where He wants her and where she
can be happy.

The Key to Happiness
by Anonymous

God asks us to give things up—to refuse his request is to kill your own
soul. To remain selfish when God asks you to go out of yourself and do
things for him and for your fellow creatures leads to unhappiness. But we
must also be ready when God asks us to accept a gift. God is always giving
gifts, and many of them are simple joys: good food, friendship, beautiful
music, a walk in the woods. When God presents those little joys to us, it is
just as selfish to refuse them as it is to refuse his call to give something
up. Be ready to do both, as God sees fit. In short, be ready to do God’s
will at all times.

5 Ways To Live A Holier Life

Make more time for prayer:
Spending time together is the best way to get to know God better.

Practice sharing:
God wants us to take care of each other. Look for more ways to share your
money, time, and talents with someone who needs them.

Celebrate the Sacraments:
Make Sunday Mass the highlight of your week. Go to confession and celebrate
God´s forgiving spirit.

Be a voice in the wilderness :
When you notice and injustice, be the first one to speak out and take
action. Treat all people with the dignity they deserve as children of God.

Share your faith :
Talk about God with anyone who wants to listen. We shouldn´t keep his love
all to ourselves. There´s more than enough to go around.

Enough

Dear God,

Please give me...

Enough tears to keep me human,

Enough humor to keep me wise,

Enough setbacks to keep me humble,

Enough accomplishments to keep me confident,

Enough waiting to teach me patience,

Enough hope to teach me trusting,

Enough friends to give me love,

Enough memories to give me comfort.

I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still
talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers.
Isaiah 65:24

Concerns of The Heart

Literally, I had no agenda. Many things had been on my mind, though.
Several situations I’d been mulling over. A few people that had been
especially on my heart. Some unresolved issues stewing in the back
corners of my brain.

So, I had no agenda when we went to this church for an evening service
of refreshing and renewing. I just know that there would be a time to
be quiet and be still before the Lord.

With beautiful music in the background, I began to zone out, let my
mind wander. As I was still, sitting there, I felt so thankful to be
in the presence of the Lord. God began to whisper softly to me, not
in an audible voice, but ever so gently. He began addressing one by
one the concerns of my heart. Gradually I began to be aware that He
was sharing with me direction and answers to these unspoken concerns.

Later, I thought about how amazing God is. Amazing God! Amazing
grace! How good to remember that God knows our deepest needs and
desires before they are even fully formed in our minds, or on our
lips. And, that in His time, the perfect time, He will answer the
concerns of our hearts. Even if we have ‘no agenda’.

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for sharing the Word, the wisdom, the love of
our heavenly Father with us. In the name of Jesus! Amen.

Here's hoping you all are having a wonderful positive weekend - with Jesus
as Lord of your life. God bless you all!
