Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends!! Another nice, relaxing day today for Linus' day off! We had Lori over for supper tonight, such a blessing! She's been too busy until now - since we got back. Linus made a turkey on the grill - it was soooo good!! We tasted our wine and it met with Lori's approval!! Yah!! One more racking and we'll be bottling it. I am grateful for my computer, because without it I wouldn't know you! Thanks be to God! I am also grateful for a nice, relaxing day spent with my husband on his day off. He did some errands, some snow blowing etc. and he went and picked up Ollie so Lori could come here right from work. Ollie was so happy to come! Hope I'm not boring you with our very sheltered life!!! LOL Praying for you all!

People should be able to look at us and see that we are different. Lord, may
I be an example of Your love and learn to rely on You at all times.

"Your Father who sees in secret will reward you." ~Matthew 6:4

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

In silence God's meaning can come to the heart. I need not judge when
it enters the heart. I can only judge by results. God's word can be
spoken to the secret places of my heart and, in some hour of
temptation, I can find that word and realize its value for the first
time. When I need it, I can find it there. "Your Father who sees in
secret will reward you."

I pray that I may see God's meaning in my life. I pray that I may
gladly accept what God has to teach me.

PRAYER FOR A MATURE FAITH

Lord, I wish to believe in You.

Let my faith be full and unreserved, and let it penetrate my thought, my way of judging Divine things and human things.

Let my faith be free. Let my faith be strong; let it not fear the difficulties or the problems of which the experience of our life, eager for light, is full; let it not fear the hostility of those who question it, attack it, reject it, deny it, but let it be strengthened in the intimate proof of Your truth; let it resist the attack of criticism.

Let my faith be joyful and give peace and gladness to my spirit, and dispose it for prayer with God and conversation with all.

New Year Alphabet
Almighty Creator of the Universe,
Beloved Father, God,
Create in me a clean heart this new year.
Deliver me from the temptations of the ego.
Exalt your presence in my mind.
Forgive all that I have held against you, myself and others.
Grant me peace this day and this new year.
Hold me steadfastly within the boundaries of your truth.
Inspire my heart to know you, my ears to hear you, and my eyes to recognize you.
Justify me in the presence of all enemies.
Knead my heart with words of kindness.
Let no harm befall me or my loved ones.
May all I do this day glorify you.
Nourish me with your wisdom.
Open my mind to know your truth.
Purge my heart of all things that are offensive to your law.
Quiet my soul in the midst of confusion.
Renew my connection to you.
Save me from evil influences.
Teach me to trust you at all times.
Use all that you have given me to serve you.
Victory for your cause is my desire.
Walk with me so that my strength will never be diminished.
eXamine my heart continually.
Your love and grace are my good fortune.
Zealously I commit myself to your will forever.

January 9

I am with you and for you. When you decide on a course of action that is in line with My will, nothing in heaven or on earth can stop you. You may encounter many obstacles as you move toward your goal, but don’t be discouraged—never give up! With My help, you can overcome any obstacle. Do not expect an easy path as you journey hand in hand with Me, but do remember that I, your very-present Helper, am omnipotent.

Much, much stress results from your wanting to make things happen before their times have come. One of the main ways I assert My sovereignty is in the timing of events. If you want to stay close to Me and do things My way, ask Me to show you the path forward moment by moment. Instead of dashing headlong toward your goal, let Me set the pace. Slow down, and enjoy the journey in My Presence.

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
—Romans 8:31

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling.
—Psalm 46:1–3 nkjv

“For nothing is impossible with God.”
—Luke 1:37

I Asked He Gave

I asked for Strength.....And God gave me Difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for Wisdom.......And God gave me Problems to solve.

I asked for Prosperity...And God gave me a Brain and Brawn to work.

I asked for Courage......And God gave me Danger to overcome.

I asked for Love.........And God gave me Troubled people to help.

I asked for Favors.......And God gave me Opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted. I received everything I needed.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Good evening, everyone.

I started to post on Friday but saw Gloria already had Saturday's up.

Gloria, your life is far from boring, you lead a very full and happy life. I enjoy hearing about your day and what you and your family have been up to.

I've been kinda busy the past couple of days. The grandsons stayed the night with us so I had to get them to school this morning. Our oldest will be 13 on the 29th and the other grandson will turn 9 on Feb 8. It blows my mind how the time has flown and how they are growing. I wish time would stand still, I mourn the young days of my own children and now these 2. Time needs to slow down.

Yesterday I found out that a 2nd cousin had surgery on her spine because a tumor was found. Her Mother just wrote me and said the tumor was malignant and she will immediately begin radiation. Please keep Dawn in your prayers. Thanks!

I guess I've talked enough so I will hush.

Keep warm. Have a peaceful rest and I will talk to y'all later.

Peace and blessings.

Be still, and know.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hi Lucy! Nice to see you and yes, I try to get the next day's thread up around six Minnesota time if possible. Thanks for saying I'm not boring, according to others lives on the boards, it must seem very boring!! We'll probably never have grandchildren, only God knows, so can't talk about them!!! Those of you who have them, you are so fortunate!

I keep forgetting to write Jesus Calling on the piece for it on the thread. It's where the date is, Jan. 9th for today. Have to remember that because on the email it has Jesus Calling on the subject line. I'm so glad that gmail is working out so well for me. Charter is scary - I would put an email I want to keep on a folder, and it will skip it! Just can't trust it.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Please keep my sweet, precious grandson, Aidan, in your prayers. He broke his arm tonight during his wrestling match and is now in surgery. My daughter just called saying they took him back about 10:45. Our other grandson was watching the match and saw what happened. He was so upset, he came in our house crying. He loves his little brother. Thanks for your prayers. I'll come back tomorrow and tell you how he did.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Aidan did well in surgery. Pins were put in his elbow and he is in pain, of course, but pain meds are helping that. Keep my little fella in your prayers. Thanks!

Thanks, Harlene.

Thanks Lucy for the update - prayers continue until all healed and no more pain. May Jesus, the Divine Physician heal him completely.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Good evening,

My sweet angel came home this evening. The DR gave them the choice of going home or staying another night so they decided to go home. He is in a lot of pain so please pray for my little one to feel better and rest well. My daughter is worn out and needs rest so please keep her in your prayers.

Not a lot to say so I will hush. Have a peaceful night. God bless.
