Love and trust are the solutions for the worries and frets of life. Lord, I
pray
for Your gift of Faith which is all that I need for Your power to work
within me.
Scripture for the day:
"And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am
coming to you. Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given
me, so that they may be one, as we are one." ~John 17:11
Meditation for the day:
I can live in the world and yet live apart with God. I can go forth from my
secret times of communion with God to the work of the world.
To get the spiritual strength I need, my inner life can be lived apart from
the world. I can wear the world as a loose garment. Nothing in the world
can seriously upset me, as long as my inner life is lived with God. All
successful living can arise from this inner life.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may live my inner life with God. I pray that nothing will
invade or destroy that secret place of peace.
Greetings my friends! Today was a good day - I put my husband to work -
helping me clean and he did - also he bought a new facet for our kitchen
sink - our old one didn't give much pressure at all - now this one does and
it's such a blessing!! I'm going to clean out my old Areo Garden and start
some herbs in there tomorrow. They are old, so don't know if they'll come
up, but worth a try. I always enjoyed planting things in there, but haven't
for a long time - mainly money. This is crazy - got a new catalogue today -
ever hear of Seventh Avenue? I never did, yet I got this today - kind of
unique things to buy. Anyway - in there was a vegetable storage thing -
wooden - just what I have in my pantry - and it showed you can put potatoes
and onions in there - the windows show that - well, ok - all I had in there
was some cleaning supplies, I cleaned it all out, and put my potatoes in one
door and the onions in the bottom one just like the picture!! The roll down
top I just put some odds and ends in for now. That frees a big space in my
pantry for other things. Just like a lightbulb went on in my head!
A Beautiful Hymn
May your grace make me whole again,
May your eyes make me see again,
May your words make me hear again,
Your song of love.
May your hands touch the poor again,
May your arms hold the sick again,
May your smile fill each heart again,
Through who I am.
May your birth make me live again,
May your death make me free again,
May your life make me sing again,
Your song of Love.
May your feet walk the road again,
May your voice raise the dead again,
May your will calm the storm again,
Through who I am.
Let my tears wash your feet again,
Let my cloth wipe your face again,
Let my home give you rest again,
In those I see.
Let me give you your food again,
Let me shoulder your step again,
Let me answer your call again,
In who I am.
(Hymn by R. Fabing S.J.)

The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance
between your knees and the floor.
The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything.
New Year's Resolution
At the beginning of a new year, it is traditional that we make resolutions.
Resolutions are promises concerning things that we will try to accomplish in
the year to come. Usually, they have to do with losing weight, trying to
stop smoking, working harder in school/work or something such as that. I'd
like to share what I believe are resolutions that will help to insure that
we will all have a happy and prosperous New Year.
In the New Year, be sure to LIE, CHEAT, DRINK, SWEAR and STEAL more than you
did last year.
LIE back and relax just a little more this new year. Let a little more life
happen to you without so much worry.
CHEAT failure. Don't be afraid to try something new because you think you
may fail. It is through failure that we learn the most valuable lessons.
DRINK from the fountain of knowledge. Many people around you have already
been down roads you are about to travel. Learn from mistakes they have made.
Take what they have learned and use it.
SWEAR to do your best. All the time, in every situation. That is all anybody
will ever ask.
STEAL a little time for yourself. Everyday take a little more time to
develop a stronger relationship with- the one and only...YOU.
So, if you lie, cheat, drink, swear and steal just a little more in the next
year, you will have a profitable and enjoyable year ahead!
God bless you in 2012!
...Here are 21 things to remember.......
1. No one can ruin your day without YOUR permission.
2. Most people will be about as happy, as they decide to be.
3. Others can stop you temporarily, but only you can do it permanently.
4. Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will
have.
5. Success stops when you do.
6. When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.
7. You will never "have it all together."
8. Life is a journey...not a destination. Enjoy the trip!
9. The biggest lie on the planet: "When I get what I want, I will be
happy."
10. The best way to escape your problem is to solve it.
11. I've learned that ultimately, 'takers' lose and 'givers' win.
12. Life's precious moments don't have value, unless they are shared.
13. If you don't start, it's certain you won't arrive.
14. We often fear the thing we want the most.
15. He or she who laughs......lasts.
16. Yesterday was the deadline for all complaints.
17. Look for opportunities...not guarantees.
18. Life is what's coming....not what was.
19. Success is getting up one more time.
20. Now is the most interesting time of all.
21. When things go wrong.....don't go with them.
Remind Me God!
When I am lonely and Perhaps I feel despair,
Let not my ailing heart forget That YOU hear every prayer...
Remind me that no matter what I do or fail to do,
There still is hope for as long as I have FAITH in YOU...
Let not my eyes be blinded by Some folly I commit,
But help me to regret my wrong And make amends for it.
Inspire me to put my fears Upon a hidden shelf,
And in the future try not to Feel sorry for myself.
Give me the restful sleep I need Before another dawn,
And bless me in the morning with THE COURAGE TO GO ON
Prayer for Perseverance in Faith
Father, keep us from vain strife of words. Grant to us constant profession
of the Truth! Preserve us in a true and undefiled Faith so that we may hold
fast to that which we professed when we were baptized in the Name of the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit - that we may have Thee for our Father, that we
may abide in Thy Son and in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus
Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
Saint Hilary of Poitiers, Bishop and Doctor
Let us continue to pray for one another - for healings, for hurts, for all
of our intentions - asking Mary to intercede for us and the Saints - just
like you and I are praying for each other.
May you have a wonderful weekend - filled with many blessings. YOU are
certainly my blessings!
