Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends! What a day!! What a blessing today was!! Miracles do happen, don't ever, ever doubt it what ever you do!!! We were expecting to hear he had at least two strokes, and how to prevent it now in the future etc., but when we found out that the CT Scan came out clean - nothing there at all!! Wow! Hard to believe!! The Anointing Linus got on Sunday was a blessing from God - and whatever was there is gone now! Praise the Lord from Whom all Blessings flow. His cholesterol is a a little high, 214, and we will get that down naturally with food as we did before. They still want to have him see a neurologist yet. Today he had an ultra sound around the neck area so see about the blood flow there, everything is normal! Thanks to everyone who prayed for him - prayers do help, don't ever forget that! I thank you all sincerely for all your care and prayers! May our Jesus Who heals heal all of you who are suffering and need His healing touch. Praying for you all!

It is you, not where you are or what you have, that makes the difference.

Lord, may I always blossom where I am planted.

Scripture for the day:

"I will look to the LORD, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God

will hear me." ~Micah 7:7

Meditation for the day:

We can admit our own helplessness. God will hear our prayer. Our own need

can be recognized, then we can ask God for the strength to meet that need.

But once that need is recognized, our prayer is heard above all the music of

heaven. It is not theological arguments that solve the problems of the

questing soul, but the sincere cry of that soul to God for strength and the

certainty of that soul that the cry can be heard and answered.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be humble enough to realize my need and ask for help. I

pray that I may feel certain that God will hear and answer my prayer.

Forever

"Forever" she said.

"Forever," he said.

First day of life and they made the vow to be together forever.

"I need some room," she said.

"I'll will always be here, just call for me" he said.

Ten years old and they made the vow to always be there.

"Does he like me?" she asked.

"I'll find out," he said.

Twelve years old and he made the vow to show her who loved her.

"He doesn't love me anymore," she said.

"I will always love you" he said.

Fourteen years old and he made the vow to show her love forever.

"Nobody loves me," she said.

"I know someone who does," he said.

Sixteen years old and he made the vow to love her forever.

"I'm getting married," she said.

"I'll be there," he said.

Eighteen years old and he made the vow to forever give her love.

"I got divorced yesterday," she said.

"I'm here for you," he said.

Twenty years old and he made the vow to be there for her forever.

"Why doesn't anyone love me?" she asked.

"I have always loved you," he said.

Twenty-two years old and he made the vow to keep on loving her.

"I could never just love you," she said.

"I could never stop," he said.

Twenty-four years old and he made the vow to never stop loving her.

"I can never see you," she said.

"I have lived in your heart from the day you were born," he said.

Twenty-six years old and he made the vow to live in her heart forever.

As she lays dying,

"I'm sorry, for not always loving you, please forgive me" she said.

"I told you I will always be here for you, I am here!" he said.

Twenty-eight years old and he kept his vow as her body lay in an open

casket he turned to her and said, "You shall come unto me to live and be

loved forever."

"Forever," she said

"Forever," The Lord said.

Each time you warmly greet a stranger

or beam a heartfelt smile,

you pass along

the effects lingering for awhile.

Each time you help a friend

or a neighbor you do not know,

you give of

and the effects just grow and grow

Each time you stop to listen

or judge not anothers' trials,

you show

then the effects travel for miles

Each time you console a burdened heart

or shoulder someone's tears,

you spread

the effects passing on for years.

Each time you "Love thy neighbor"

as He has always loved you,

you light a candle of

to last a lifetime through

Although our lives may differ greatly

our strengths and weaknesses may vary too

I know you are a special soul

because He brightly shines through you!

Now, if I can share but one small message

to you, my friend, I say:

hold on to this important promise

He has spoken every day...

"Each time you need a hand

or a friend to walk with you,

Remember I am always near

and My love is always true."

Pass this message on with care,

for all your loved ones you might share

a thought of love and kindness too

tell them:

To help us make the wisest use of our time,

someone has offered these guidelines :

Take time to pray - it's a source of power

Take time to read - it's a fountain of wisdom.

Take time to play - it's a secret of youth.

Take time to be friendly - it's a path of happiness.

Take time to laugh - it's the music of the soul.

Take time to dream - it's a road to greater vision.

Take time to love - it's GOD like.

POURING OUT

By Sally I. Kennedy

God….can….pour out showers of blessing to refresh you. Acts 3:19

“It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring…”, a kids’ rhyme.

Well rain it did last night, in fact it poured.

Moisture must have literally come pouring out from thick, charcoal-

colored clouds. The rainfall only added to the already swift current

in the river below. This morning the river wasn’t just gurgling and

bubbling along; it was moving steadily and forcefully. In fact I

could hear the roar of the waters, before I could see it.

Cradling my first cup of coffe, I took a seat by the corner window and

sat mesmerized. It was so aweome to watch the water rushing

downstream, pounding boulders and rocks in its way, with only the

sodden banks on either side to contain it.

It made me think of when there was a great pouring out, back in an

upstairs room, when the Holy Spirit flowed powerfully one morning, to

people gathered together to pray (Acts 2). There was no containing the

outpouring on that Pentecost day!

One of the many, many promises that God gives us in His Word, is in

the book of Joel , and again in Acts, where He says, “ I will pour out

my Spirit on all people.” (Joel 2, Acts 2).

In this same book of Acts, the Lord speaks of His pouring out

refreshing blessings when we turn back to Him (Acts 3). And in

Malachi 3, He talks of pouring out blessings we won’t be able to

contain, as we do as He has told us.

Not holding back, pouring. Pouring out. Isn’t that our extravagant,

wonderful, heavenly Father?!!

Lord, thank You for Your awesome Holy Spirit, and thank You that You

are today willing to pour out Your Spirit on us, Your sons and

daughters who believe and are called by Your name. Amen!

That is very good news.

From Patrick Carnivale's scripture reflection for today:

Today's readings 11/7/14

Phil.3:17--4:1; Ps.122:1-5; Lk.16:1-8

As I listened to St.Paul instruct his Philippian listeners to "become

imitators of me" I couldn't help but think about the burden that placed on

him to set a good example worthy of that call. To be honest I don't want

anyone to imitate me because I know all about my flaws that I carefully keep

hidden, I think we all share that problem to a certain degree, and that's

why the Parable of the Dishonest Steward fits so well into the teaching we

are being presented with through these scripture passages today. The master

in the parable was well aware that his steward was overcharging his

neighbors and living a life of luxury at their expense, and so it's only

natural that he would be pleased when he saw him correcting those

"promissory notes" and making things right. This is an example of integrity

we would all do well to "imitate" because if the truth be known we've all

done a few "dishonest" things over the course of our lives that God has

given us the opportunity to make right once again. Yes, we've all made

mistakes and taken advantage of someone or some situation to get what we

want, now is the time to make things right, not only in their eyes and in

the Eyes of Our Divine Master as well, setting an example that we, like

St.Paul, can confidently call others to "become imitators of me".

God bless you,

In Jesus - Pat
