Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Allow your mind to become quiet and less judgmental and you will feel
improvements
in all areas of your life. Lord, help my mind avoid twisting the words I
hear and misjudging
the intentions of others in order to justify my own righteousness. Help me
to spread Your peace.

S C R I P T U R E S F O R T H E D A Y

On this mountain he will destroy the veil that veils all peoples, The web
that is woven over all nations; he will destroy death forever. The Lord
GOD will wipe away the tears from all faces; The reproach of his people he
will remove from the whole earth; for the Lord has spoken. ~Isaiah
25:6-10a

They placed them at his feet, and he cured them. The crowds were amazed
when they saw the mute speaking, the deformed made whole, the lame
walking, and the blind able to see, and they glorified the God of Israel.
~Matthew 15:29-37

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

What a wonderful day it will be when Jesus comes in His glory. All we hope
for will come into being. During this Holy Season though, the Lord calls
us to get involved in building His Kingdom ... by promoting justice and
building peace, by showing concern for the sick and the poor and bringing
God's healing presence, by living in a confusing world but following in
His footsteps.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that God's dream for the world might be my dream. I pray that I may
become more and more involved in ushering in His Kingdom.

Greetings my friends! How was your day? Today we had again a cool day -
right now it's 55 - never got higher. But I am still able to pick
raspberries, as they didn't freeze. None of our stuff froze, praise God!
Today Linus was off and he worked in the yard - he got the yard pretty well
cleaned up for the year. He was stirring the compost as you are supposed to
do that, and here there was a bee nest in there and they got angry with him,
he got one sting, but escaped the rest. He didn't even swell, I would and
have already. He was going to pick our carrots yet but thought they can
stay in the ground yet. So we'll use them and our potatoes as needed - just
dig them up. I made chili today - different than chili usually is. I used
no meat because the beans are protein enough, I just used cans of organic
beans, black, chili beans, pinto beans, one can of tomato juice, a bunch of
tomatoes, quartered, one sweet potato sliced, and even two apples, and it
was really good. I like to make my own concoctions sometimes with what I
have here. Today we got five more chickens from the farm - they were all
cut up so we just bagged them and put away some for soups. One we didn't
freeze, will cook it tomorrow night when he gets home from work. These were
around 5 lbs. each. I like that size. Hope to get some freezing done
tomorrow sometime.

Your Silent Gift to Your Neighbor
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.

1 Tim 6:2-12 / Lk 8:1-3

Through town after town and across the countryside into the tiniest of
villages, Jesus walked and walked, month after month, proclaiming the Good
News. The gospels are filled with his words, but equally important are the
deeds that they report. What he did had every much as great an impact as
what he said, and that’s because he had integrity: his deeds matched his
words; all the pieces of his life fit together and there were none left
over. He talked love and forgiveness, and he lived it every day of his life.

Jesus’ integrity, which was so deeply rooted, was what gave him so much
power to heal and strengthen people and help them to change. They sensed
that he could be trusted, and therefore they were confident that he could
show them the way to life and could help them find their way home to the
Father.

With God’s help, our own integrity — though never perfect — is a gift we can
give to one another, just as Jesus did. In our own way, we can be beacons
that light up the dark and encourage people to keep striving and not give
up. In our honest willingness to name and own our own mistakes, we can be a
source of comfort and growth for others. As we slowly grow more whole, we
can cause people to look at us and say to themselves, “Living like that
rings true. I’d like to be like that. I can be like that.”

Give your neighbors the silent gift of your own integrity. Someday, though
maybe not till heaven, you’ll discover what a powerful gift it was.

Total Surrender

Just think of almighty God in the womb of Mary, locked in.
He had to cling helplessly to his mother.
This was the total surrender of Christ.

A man went to a Jewish rabbi and complained, "Life is unbearable. There are
nine of us living in one room. What can I do?" The rabbi answered, "Take
the goat into the room with you."

The man did not believe what he was hearing ... take a stinking goat into
the house? But the rabbi insisted, "Do as I tell you and come back in a
week. "A week later the man came back half dead, saying, "We cannot stand
it any longer. That goat is filthy and smelly."

The rabbi then told him, "Now go home and let the goat out. And come back
in a week's time." A radiant man visited the rabbi a week later. "Life is
beautiful, rabbi. We enjoy every minute of it. No goat - and only the nine
of us."

Another rabbi put it this way: "The best way to feel real contentment is to
lose everything you have ... and then get it all back again."

When daily toils and trials increase,
My Lord gives His abiding peace.

When once-dear friends forsake and flee,
I feel His arms enfolding me.

When I feel lost and all alone,
'Tis then His tender love is shown.

When no one's near to hear my cry,
I know my precious Lord is nigh.

Though I sink low in deep despair,
He shows again His constant care.

When no more pain can I endure,
He gives me hope, steadfast and sure.

And as I lift my heart and pray,
I feel His strength anew each day.

He leads and guides each step I take,
And tells me He will not forsake.

And as I read His Word He feeds
My hungry soul, and fills my needs.

He gives me grace, and so much more!
Some day my ransomed soul shall soar,

And In God's loving arms I'll be
Secure for all eternity!'

MAYONNAISE JAR & TWO BEERS....

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24
hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and
the 2 Beers.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items
in front of him.

When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and
empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into
the jar. He shook the jar lightly.

The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full.

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the
jar

Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full.

The students responded with a unanimous 'yes....'

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and
poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the
empty space between the sand.

The students laughed..

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to
recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things---your family, your
children, your health, your friends and your favorite
passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained,
your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your
house and your car..

The sand is everything else---the small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no
room for the pebbles or the golf balls.

The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will
never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Spend time with your children..

Spend time with your parents.

Visit with grandparents.

Take your spouse out to dinner.

Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter.

Set your priorities.

The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer
represented.

The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.'

The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

LIFE ISN'T ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORM TO PASS...... IT'S LEARNING
HOW TO DANCE IN THE RAIN
Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love
truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you
smile.

Prayer of Daily Neglects

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with al its love,
all its sufferings and all its merits.

To expiate all the sins I have committed this day and during all my life.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in
the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

To purify the good I have done poorly this day and during all my life.

Glory be, etc.

To supply for the good I ought to have done, and that I have neglected this
day and all my life.

Glory be, etc.

Daily Prayer of the Church

Visit our dwelling, we beseech Thee, O Lord, and drive far from it all
snares of the enemy; let Thy holy angels abide therein to preserve us in p
eace, and may Thy blessing remain with us always, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

(Offer to God your night's rest, every beat of your heart and every breath
you take. This good intention will make even these unconscious acts full of
merit. Pray one "Hail Mary."

Our Lord revealed to St. Josefa Menendez, "During the night, you will rest
in My Heart. My Heart will listen to the beats of yours, which will be so
many acts of love and desire. Thus even while you are sleeping, you will
bring back to Me souls who offend Me. Ask forgiveness for the whole world,
especially for those that know Me and yet sin. Offer yourself in
reparation." Below is the resulting prayer.)

Eternal Father, I desire to rest in Your Heart this night. I make the
intention of offering to Thee every beat of my heart, joining to them as
many acts of love and desire. I pray that even while I am asleep, I will
bring back to Thee the souls that offend Thee. I ask forgiveness for the
whole world, especially for those who know You and yet sin. I offer Thee my
every breath and heart beat as a prayer of reparation. Amen.

Good night all - sweet dreams and God bless your Saturday! Enjoy God's Gifts!
