Hello my friends! First off, I wish you all a very blessed Mother's Day! I still miss my Mom! I am hoping and praying this will be the last Mother's day without our daughter, Darla, with us. Family times are very important to us. Today's blessings - I saw a couple Oriels flying around our back yard and coming to the feeder he just set out yesterday for them. They sure are pretty!! Waiting for the cardinals, saw one once, this spring, but he hasn't been back again!! Hope he will - he does every summer! Another blessing - talking to Darla on the phone this morning was good too! Nothing is in writing yet, so she says prayers should continue. Monday should be the day for sure. Praying for you all with love.
Joy does not depend on your circumstances, but rather on your triumph over
your
circumstances. Lord, my joy comes from within where Your spirit fills my
soul
and You bless me with Your strength.
Scripture for the day:
"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalm 46:10
A scripture that fits the Meditation for today, and is also
appropriate for a person without a computer!
Meditation for the day:
I can keep calm and unmoved in the vicissitudes of life. I can go
back into the silence of communion with God to recover this calm
when it is lost even for one moment. I can accomplish more by this
callmness than by all the activities of a long day. At alll cost I can
keep calm. I can solve nothing when I am agitated. I can keep
away from things that are upsetting emotionally. I can run on an
even keel and not get tipped over by emotional upsets. I can seek
for things that are calm and good and true ... and stick to those
things.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may not argue or contend, but merely state calmly
what I believe to be true. I pray that I may keep myself in that
state of calmness that comes from faith in God's purpose for the
world.

An Intimate Conversation
You Can Have with
the Resurrected Jesus
Speak to Me, My precious one . .. .
Tell Me about those who are closest to you, the sorrows they cause you, and
your fears for them. How would you like Me to help them? And what about the
people who have alienated themselves from you? Tell Me how they have hurt
you. Tell Me you forgive them, so that I may heal your pain. Ask for wisdom
and understanding in dealing with difficult people—the family member, the
neighbor, the co-worker—and I will be generous in giving you insights.
Tell Me about the sick people you know, those who are suffering from
physical ills. Tell Me about those who are suffering from mental anguish.
Tell Me about the sinners you would like to see converted. I care about them
even more than you do.
Good Things To Remember
Stop trying to please others - it doesn't work.
Start pleasing yourself.
Make sure your shoe souls are clean when you're walking through someone
else's life.
Upon awakening each day, use the following quotation.. " Thank You God, for
this day...
let's get out there and see what wonderful stuff we can accomplish
"TOGETHER".
Always praise a person for a job well done.
Praise your children often.
Words we should say more often: "LOVE YOU".
Never say good-bye or good night to your husband, child, mother, father,
dear friends, without making sure they've heard or felt your "LOVE YOU"
message.
Remember that the world does not expect you to be more than you are capable
of being, but it does expect you to try to live up to all that you were
created for.
You can't turn back the clock, but you can wind it up again.
BURDENS GIVE US WINGS
Author Unknown
An old legend relates that long ago God had a great many burdens which He
wished to have carried from one place to another on earth, so He asked the
animals to lend a hand. But all of them began to make excuses for not
helping: the elephant was too dignified; the lion, too proud; and so on.
Finally the birds came to God and said, "If you will tie the burdens into
small bundles, we'll be glad to carry them for you. We are small but we
would like to help."
So God fastened upon the back of each one a small bundle, and they all set
out walking across the plain to their destination. They sang as they went,
and did not seem to feel the weight of their burdens at all. Every day the
burdens seemed lighter and lighter, until the loads seems to be lifting the
birds, instead of the birds carrying the burdens.
When they arrived at their destination, they discovered that when they
removed their loads, there were wings in their place, wings which enabled
them to fly to the sky and the tree tops.
They had learned how to carry their burdens, and their loads had become
wings to carry them nearer to God. Burdens we carry for others may become
wings of the spirit, to lift us into happiness such as we have never known.
At times I'm so discouraged
with problems of the day
I fail to see the joyful things
that are along the way
When troubles overwhelm me
It's then my nerves may fray
that's when I need to take the time
To simply sit and pray
Reflecting on God's many the gifts
It makes me so aware
Of all the joy in little things
around me everywhere!
I must try to remember
though problems come my way
not to miss the joyful things
and the beauty of the day.

Dearest Mother of Our Lord,
Sweet and blessed mother, guide our mothers that they too may lead us to
Your Son, just as you show us.
May they imitate Your love and devotion.
May we in return also be loving, patient, understanding and supportive to
our mothers.
Blessed Mother, we pray for all mothers - our own mums, our aunts, our
grandmothers... the living and the departed.
Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with You.
Blessed are you amongst all women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
