Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Hello my friends! Blessings today - first of all our Mass - then after Mass we served coffee and donuts, and being my husband is having some health issues, I asked Father Mark to anoint him and he did when we were finished with the clean-up. Another blessing was when Lori came over and stayed for the football game, ordered a pizza and paid for it! Please do pray for Linus - a couple episodes happened I won't go into it here, he's going to make appointments tomorrow to get checked. Praying for all of your needs daily.

Fears cannot survive without your full attention. Lord, help me to face

my fears, realize that they are not as big as I imagine and see that their

main purpose is to stop me from action.

Scripture for the day:

"I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God

that has been given you in Christ Jesus, for in every way you have

been enriched in him, in speech and knowledge of every kind--just as

the testimony of Christ has been strengthened among you--so that you

are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revealing of our

Lord Jesus Christ." ~1 Corinthians 1:4-7

Meditation for the day:

It is not so much us, as the grace of God that is in us, that helps

those around us. If we help even those we dislike, we can see that

there is nothing in us to block the way, to keep God's grace from

using us. Our own pride and selfishness are the greatest blocks. We

can keep those out of the way and God's grace can flow through us into

the lives of others. Then all who come in contact with us can be

helped in some way. We can keep the channel open, free from those

things that make our

life futile and ineffective.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that all who come in contact with me will feel better for it.

I pray that I may be careful not to harbor those things in my heart

that put people off.

The Sign of the cross - Meditation

When we bless ourselves with the sign of the cross, we should take advantage

of this opportunity to meditate the passion of Christ.

As I bless myself with the sign of the cross, I clothe my soul with the holy

wounds of Jesus Christ who died for my sins. The image of my soul which has

been destroyed by sin receives restoration and protection from my Lord and

Saviour.

"Lord Jesus Christ imprint upon my soul your most holy wounds, so that I may

be purified from all my sinfulness, deliver me Lord from all evil."

In the name of the Father,

I bless my soul with the holy wounds of the sacred head of Jesus and the

sufferings of His holy mind, so that I may always keep my soul in the

Presence of God.

In the name of the Son,

I bless my soul with the wounds of His sacred feet, so that I may always

walk in the path of Salvation and proclaim the Word of God to others.

In the name of the Holy Spirit,

I bless my soul with the wounds of His sacred hands, that I may always do

the work of God.

God Forgives

One night in a church service a young woman felt the tug of God at her

heart. She responded to God's call and accepted Jesus as her Lord and

Savior. The young woman had a very rough past, involving alcohol, drugs,

and prostitution. But, the change in her was evident. As time went on she

became a faithful member of the church. She eventually became involved in

the ministry, teaching young children. It was not very long until this

faithful young woman had caught the eye and heart of the pastor's son. The

relationship grew and they began to make wedding plans. This is when the

problems began. You see, about one half of the church did not think that a

woman with a past such as hers was suitable for a pastor's son.

The church began to argue and fight about the matter. So they decided

to have a meeting. As the people made their arguments and tensions

increased, the meeting was getting completely out of hand. The young woman

became very upset about all the things being brought up about her past. As

she began to cry the pastor's son stood to speak. He could not bear the

pain it was causing his wife to be. He began to speak and his statement was

this: "My fiancee's past is not what is on trial here. What you are

questioning is the ability of the blood of Jesus to wash away sin."

"Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial. So, does it wash away

sin or not?" The whole church began to weep as they realized that they had

been slandering the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Too often, even as

Christians, we bring up the past and use it as a weapon against our brothers

and sisters. Forgiveness is a very foundational part of the Gospel of our

Lord Jesus Christ. If the blood of Jesus does not cleanse the other person

completely then it cannot cleanse us completely. If that is the case, then

we are all in a lot of trouble. What can wash away my sins?... Nothing but

the blood of Jesus! End of case!!!!

God's Table Manners

You undoubtedly felt awkward the first time you had to learn which fork to

use. But with that knowledge you can enter any dining experience with

confidence. The same is true when you dine at God's table. At first it seems

difficult. But learning the right manners makes it possible for you to be in

any situation and please the Father.

Table manners at God's table:

* You have to do your own chewing. Too many Christians expect God to take

out a spoon and dish up the blessing for them. He is supposed to place it in

our mouths, work our jaws to chew it up, and help us swallow it. We want God

to do everything. The fact is that you have responsibility in God's

sovereign world.

* Accept the seating. Take the lowest seat, the seat of humility and

service. If God wants you to sit higher up, He will show you that, but err

on the side of humility, not pride.

* Finish the meal. John 3:16 tells us, "God so loved the world, that He gave

His only begotten Son." Some believe that because God has already come and

died for the sins of the world, they don't have to do anything else.

However, it's important to finish the phrase regarding man's responsibility:

"whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." You

must come to Him in order to receive the forgiveness that He purchased for

you.

* Read the menu. You must spend time reading what God has prepared. Read

your Bible, meditate on the Word. It will give you strength and illumination

according to God's plan for your life. It will keep you on course and remind

you of your responsibilities in order to fulfill the plan of God.

* Count the fruit. If you are not willing to bear fruit for Him, then He is

not obligated to answer your requests, even if you ask things in His name.

Jesus declares, "Everyone that the Father gives me will come to me, and

anyone who comes to me I will never drive away" (John 6:37). The Holy Spirit

inspires us to go to Jesus and do what He asks of us. His sovereignty makes

the first move toward us, but because He gave us free will, we must move

toward Him as well.

PHYSICAL HEALING PRAYER

" Jesus, you are the wounded healer, heal me through your wounds. You are

the God, the Ultimate, who alone can heal me. You are my Divine medicine. O!

Lord! Just say one word, and I shall be healed. Jesus, forgive all my sins

and iniquities through your bloodshed. Have mercy on all my ancestors. O!

Jesus! Send your Holy Spirit upon me and liberate me from all bondage.

Jesus, my only Savior, deliver me from all my sins and sickness. Mother

Mary, mother of good health, I cry out to you for your prayers for the mercy

of your Son to heal me right now! Thank you Mother Mary, Thank you Jesus,

Thank you Abba Father, and Thank you Holy Spirit. Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Hallelujah!"

A Prayer for All Souls Day

Just as Jesus died and rose again, so will the Father bring with him those

who have died in Jesus. Just as in Adam all men die, so in Christ all will

be made alive.

God our Father, we ask that you hear our prayers and bring us some

consolation in our lives. As we remember in our prayers all of our loved

ones who have died, we pray that they will have received the promise of

eternal life and that they are with you in experiencing the joy of heaven.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns

with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Everyone Needs Someone

People need people and friends need friends

And we all need love for a full life depends

Not on vast riches or great acclaim,

Not on success or on worldly fame,

But just in knowing that someone cares

And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers-

For only the knowledge that we're understood

Makes everyday living feel wonderfully good,

And we rob ourselves of life's greatest need

When we "lock up our hearts" and fail to heed

The outstretched hand reaching to find

A kindred spirit whose heart and mind

Are lonely and longing to somehow share

Our joys and sorrows and to make us aware

That life's completeness and richness depends

On the things we share with our loved ones and friends.

~ Helen Steiner Rice

Mother Teresa Said...

If we really mean to pray and want to pray we must be ready to do it now.

This is only the first step towards prayer, but if we never make the first

step with determination, we will not reach the last one: the presence of

God.

Hello To All!

Gloria, you are a gal that is in demand. Nice to serve the coffee and donuts as you get to meet and chat with folks and keep in touch. Of course I will lift up your Linus in my prayers - never doubt that, along with you as our mates suffer alongside us as well.

My blessings are many. I delight in noticing and appreciating the very small things. I give thanks for the many of them.

I daily give thanks and appreciate this wonderful nation. She is so very good, strong, resilient, generous, loving, and helpful. We have been blessed with outstanding troops, citizens, allies, and resources. Many are welcome here at her table. Go within, find peace, know you are loved.

Hello everyone,

Gloriajean, prayers being lifted for Linus.

May we all remember when we are tempted to doubt, that God has everything in His control. He knows every situation, whether it's the past, presence or the future. He always chooses what is best for us. Even if our path isn't easy, He will never forsake any of us who are seeking Him.

A good reminder for me today. Love all who post here, may God bless each and everyone of you. Until next time...

Take care, stay safe, and God Bless!

Love Roses - Thanks for your prayers for Linus - it is so appreciated! He's always a big helper for the coffee and donuts, setting up tables etc. I just am there pouring the coffee among little things. And talking! Washing dishes, not many, afterwards. We get home at noon. Mass is at 10:30. It's wonderful to notice all your blessings no matter how small they are!

Jamma - thanks for praying to St. Jude for Linus. At our Church Sunday, I saw those prayer cards to St. Jude and now I've got one! Thanks to you, for reminding me to pray to him. My Mom always did. Padre Pio, St. Anthony, The Little Flower, St. Therese are some of those I pray to. All the Saints are there to help us, isn't wonderful?

Juanita - Thanks! I knew when I asked for prayers for him, I'd get them here. It's so appreciated to know I can count on my friends here.

Lucy - like that one - "The Storms of this LIfe don't last forever. The Sun will shine again. And it will.
