Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Hello my friends! Today's blessings were a very beautiful and inspiring 10:30 Mass at the Benedictine Monastery close by - with seeing many nuns I knew - one being Sister Renee, my former high school teacher - we email each other now! Went to see Sisters Pat and Phyllis, our friends, and after Mass we had our brunch in a nice little private room so we could visit, later they took us to their house to sit in their living room for more visiting! We used to play cards with them, but we haven't been together for two years because of busyness that we had a lot to catch up on! These are life long friendships - we met in 1985 at a retreat! Wishing good health to you all!! May Jesus heal you!

Never let the abundance of gifts from God cause you to forget the Giver.

Lord, may I start and end each day with a thank you to You for all of my

blessings including those which I take for granted.

Scripture of the day

"Help me, O LORD my God! Save me according to your steadfast love."

~Psalm 109:26

Meditation for the day:

I can depend on God to supply me with all the power I need to face any

situation, provided that I will sincerely believe in that power and honestly

ask for it, at the same time making all my life conform to what I believe

God wants me to be. I can come to God as a business manager would come to

the owner of the business, knowing that to lay the matter before God means

immediate cooperation, providing the matter has merit.

Prayer for the day

I pray that I may believe that God is ready and willing to supply me with

all that I need. I pray that I may ask only for faith and strength to meet

any situation.

The Apple Tree

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and

play around it everyday. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, took a

nap under the shadow... He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with

him. Time went by... the little boy had grown up and he no longer played

around the tree everyday. One day, the boy came back to the tree and he

looked sad.

"Come and play with me," the tree asked the boy.

"I am no longer a kid, I don't play around trees anymore." The boy replied,

"I want toys. I need money to buy them."

"Sorry, but I don't have money... but you can pick all my apples and sell

them. Then you will have money." The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the

apples on the tree and left happily. The boy never came back after he picked

the apples. The tree was sad.

One day, the boy (now a man), returned and the tree was so excited. "Come

and play with me" the tree said.

"I don't have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house

for shelter. Can you help me?"

"Sorry, but I don't have a house. But you can chop off my branches to build

your house." So the man cut all the branches of the tree and left happily.

The tree was glad to see him happy but the man never came back since then.

The tree was again lonely and sad.

One hot summer day, the man returned and the tree was delighted. "Come and

play with me!" the tree said.

"I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you

give me a boat?"

"Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy." So

the boy cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed

up for a long time.

Finally, the man returned after he left for so many years. "Sorry, Sir, but

I don't have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you..." the tree

said.

"I don't have teeth to bite" the man replied.

"No more trunk for you to climb on"

"I am too old for that now" the man said.

"I really can't give you anything... the only thing left is my dying roots"

the tree said with tears.

"I don't need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these

years." The man replied.

"Good! Old tree roots is the best place to lean on and rest. Come, Come sit

down with me and rest." The man sat down and the tree was glad and smiled

with tears...

This is a story for everyone. The tree is our parents. When we were young,

we loved to play with Mom and Dad... When we grew up,we left them... only

come to them when we need something or when we are in trouble. No matter

what, parents will always be there and give everything they can to make you

happy. You may think the boy is cruel to the tree but that is how all of us

are treating our parents. love your parents, no matter where they are.

Blessings

God bless those I love

(say the name(s) of those you love)

And all the people in the world

The sick, the poor, the needy,

The hungry, the homeless,

The lost and the lonely

Show them Your presence, oh Lord

Let them know You love them

Help us to love You, to respect You

To honor You and to obey You

All the days of our lives

We ask You this through Jesus Christ,

Our Lord, Amen

I like this one:

---The Secret of Sanctity and Happiness---

I am going to reveal to you the secret of sanctity and happiness. Every day

for five minutes, control your imagination and close your eyes to the things

of sense and your ears to all noises of the world, in order to enter into

yourself. Then, in the sanctity of your baptized soul (which is the temple

of the Holy Spirit) speak to that Divine Spirit, saying to Him:

Oh, Holy Spirit, beloved of my soul...

I adore You. Enlighten me, guide me

strengthen me, console me. Tell me what

I should do...give me Your orders. I

Promise to submit myself to all that You

desire of me and to accept all that You

permit to happen to me. Let me only

know Your will.

If you do this, your life will flow along happily, serenely and full of

consolation, even in the midst of trials. Grace will be proportioned to the

trial, giving you the strength to carry it and you will arrive at the gate

of Paradise, laden with merit. This submission to the Holy Spirit is the

secret of sanctity. - Cardinal Mercier

Next time someone upsets you, just tell them to go

"FROG" it.

F R O G----we all need one.

I do hope this returns to ME, the sender! Isn't the little green guy sort

of cute?

I was told a story about a lady in the hospital who was near death when an

area Chaplain came to visit her.

This Chaplain was a very young female with long blond hair. She listened to

the lady who was ill and left her a small gift for comfort. It was a tiny

ceramic frog.

The next day one of the people from the lady's church came to visit. The

lady told her friend about the beautiful young Chaplain who had come to

visit her. The friend was so impressed with the way the lady had improved

and felt the need to talk to the young Chaplain.

In her search to find the young gal, she was repeatedly reassured that the

chaplains are never very young and that there was never a gal that fit the

description given. Upon returning to the lady in the hospital, a visiting

nurse entered the room and noticed the ceramic frog. The nurse made the

comment 'I see you have a guardian angel with you.'

As she held the little frog we asked why she made the comment and we were

informed that the frog stood for:

Forever

Rely

On

GOD

To The World You Might Be One Person; But To One Person You Might Be The

World.

You have been Tagged by the Froggy,

which means you are a great friend!

Insight:

God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. "For God so loved the

world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him

should not perish, but have everlasting Life." [John 3:16]

The problem is that you and I, all of us, have done and thought things

wrong, and our sins have separated us from God.

The good news is that God sent his son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in

our place, to the pay the penalty for our sins. The gift of God is eternal

life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. When we accept Jesus as our Saviour,

we are accepting the call for repentance, the call to turn from sin. We

receive Christ not so to continue sin, but to stop it. Grace is not an

authority to sin; it is the power not to.

May you grow in your Christian life to love one another. Jesus said, "My

commandment is this: love one another, just as I love you." (John 15:12)

Let us pray:

Help us Lord, to follow your command to walk in love and to demonstrate our

faith through expressions of love today. Inspire us to acts of love towards

our fellow man today. May our kind and encouraging words, our thoughtful

gestures and our gentle witness touch our co-workers, friends, family,

neighbours, and even strangers with your love! May our deeds before men be a

testimony of your love, a witness of your character, and a sincere

expression of our faith to the world. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen

- - -

Galatians 5:6 - What matters is faith that works through love.

We thank you, Lord

whose finger touched our dust,

who gave us breath.

We thank you, Lord

who gave us sight and sense

to see the flowers,

to hear the wind,

to feel the waters in our hand.

To sleep with the night

and wake with the sun,

to stand upon this earth,

to hear your voice,

to sing your praise.

Our hearts are stirred

with each new sight and sound.

Like a stream

the whole world pours into our lives,

and eyes and hands,

And fills our souls

with the joy of gratitude

and living gladness.

We want to embrace

and experience and express

every good thing in your world.

O Lord our God,

how excellent is your name.

A Love Letter from Jesus

(Insert your name in the blank)

__________,I love you! I shed my own blood for you to make you clean.

You are clean now, so believe that it is true.

You are lovely in my eyes, and I created you to be just as you are.

Do not criticize yourself or get down for not being perfect in your own

eyes.

This leads only to frustration. I want you to trust Me - one step

one day at a time. Dwell in My power and in My love and be free!

Be yourself! Don't allow other people to run you.

I will guide you, if you let Me. Be aware of My presence in everything.

I give you patience, love, joy, peace and life. Look to Me for your answers.

I am your shepherd and will lead you. Follow me only! Do not ever forget

this.

Listen to Me and I will tell you My will.

Let My love flow from you and spill over to all you touch.

Do not be concerned with yourself. You are My responsibility. I will change

you,

and you will hardly know it is happening. You are to

love yourself and love others simply because I love you.

Take your eyes off yourself! Look only at Me!

I change...I create..., but not when you are trying. I won't fight your

efforts.

You are Mine. Let Me give you joy, peace, and kindness. No one else can!

Love,

Jesus

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Hello To All!

Yes, like the inspiration written, we need to remember who the Giver is, sigh, I tend to forget at times. It's when I remember I feel a stronger urge to grow closer to that Giver.

Gloria - You had a nice visit. You and your husband are quite social. My lunch with my husband was nice but not a date per say. We have 'date night' on weeknights when some places are less crowded. He just owed me a lunch out as I agreed to drive and we hadn't been out on a Saturday with no particular destination in mind. My 'decorating' item I purchased for the home was a clothes hamper (not too exciting), and a canister that will be purposeful. My two cats each got a new toy.

I remember many who request for their concerns. I keep all in my highest and best of thoughts. I let the inner light guide and direct me. Be at peace and know you are loved.

Hi, Love Roses...

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Thanks much for your prayers!!! We are going to the doctor in the morning! I have a sore throat - and some fever off and on - taking Iboprofin. Linus has been having this cold since Jan and finally decided to go to the doctor for antibiotics. We hope we're better for his birthday party tomorrow night with his brothers and sisters at a restaurant.
