Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Hello my friends! Beautiful, worshipful Mass this morning at 10:30 following by visiting with friends afterwards. What a blessing going to Mass is and receiving our Lord, Jesus! YES! That's always a big blessing! Then talking to my oldest sister, Deil, making plans for our sister get together when Lori has her eye surgery - Sister LaDonna can come and she gets a ride with another Sister. Praying for good weather for that weekend of March 15th through Monday if need be if Lori doesn't have to go in again Monday morning to have her eyes checked again. Praying for you all for all your needs!! Let's remember to pray for Felicia's sister, Kathleen, whom she asked prayers for on the last thread.

We are often called upon by God as His means to care for His people.

Lord, I am here to serve You and am ready to do Your work.

Scripture for the day:

"But those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and

persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act--they will be

blessed in their doing." ~James 1:25

Meditation for the day:

When something happens to upset us and we are discouraged, we can try to

feel that life's difficulties and troubles are not intended to arrest

our progress in the spiritual life, but to test our strength and to

increase our determination to keep going. Whatever it is that must be

met, we can either overcome it or use it. Nothing need daunt us for

long, nor need any difficulty entirely overcome or conquer us. God's

strength is always there, waiting for us to use it. Nothing can be too

great to be overcome, or if not overcome, then used.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may know that there can be no failure with God. I pray

that with God's help I may live a more victorious life.

Words of Mother Teresa:

Love

To do ordinary things with extraordinary love

Let us love one another as God loves each one of us. And where does this

love begin? In our own home. How does it begin? By praying together

God told us, "Love your neighbor as yourself." So first I am to love myself

rightly, and then to love my neighbor like that. But how can I love myself

unless I accept myself as God has made me?

Contemplatives in the heart

We are not social workers. We may be doing social work in the eyes of some

people, but we must be contemplatives in the heart of the world.

Created to love

God has created us to love and to be loved, and this is the beginning of

prayer--to know that he loves me, that I have been created for greater

things.

Something beautiful for God

What I can do, you cannot. What you can do, I cannot. But together we can do

something beautiful for God.

The child

The child is God's gift to the family. Each child is created in the special

image and likeness of God for greater things - to love and to be loved.

Family

The family that prays together stays together, and if they stay together

they will love one another as God has loved each one of them. And works of

love are always works of peace.

Holiness

Holiness is not the luxury of the few; it is a simply duty, for you and for

me.

Christian One Liners

Don't let your worries get the

best of you; remember, Moses started

out as a basket case.

Some people are kind, polite, and

sweet-spirited until you try to sit in their pews.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Many folks want to serve God,

but only as advisors.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

It is easier to preach ten sermons

than it is to live one.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

The good Lord didn't create anything

without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

When you get to your wit's end,

you'll find God lives there.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

People are funny; they want the front

of the bus, the middle of the road, and

the back of the church..

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Opportunity may knock once, but temptation

bangs on your front door forever.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Quit griping about your church;

if it was perfect, you couldn't belong.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

If the church wants a better preacher,

it only needs to pray for the one it has.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

God Himself does not propose to judge

a man until he is dead. So why should you?

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Some minds are like concrete

thoroughly mixed up and permanently set.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Peace starts with a smile.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

I don't know why some people

change churches; what difference does

it make which one you stay home from?

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

A lot of church members who are singing

'Standing on the Promises'

are just sitting on the premises.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

We were called to be witnesses,

not lawyers or judges..

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Be ye fishers of men. You catch

them - He'll clean them.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Coincidence is when God

chooses to remain anonymous.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Don't put a question mark

where God put a period.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Don't wait for 6 strong men

to take you to church.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Forbidden fruits create many jams.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

God doesn't call the qualified,

He qualifies the called.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

God grades on the cross, not the curve.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

God loves everyone, but probably prefers

'fruit of the spirit' over a 'religious nut!'

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

God promises a safe landing,

not a calm passage.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

He who angers you, controls you!

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

If God is your Co-pilot - swap seats!

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Prayer:

Don't give God instructions -- just report for duty!

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

The task ahead of us is never as

great as the Power behind us.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

The Will of God never takes you to

where the Grace of God will not protect you..

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

We don't change the message,

the message changes us

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

You can tell how big a person is

by what it takes to discourage him.

The best mathematical equation

I have ever seen:

1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given.

The Clay Balls

A man was exploring caves by the Seashore. In one of the caves he found a

canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had

rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake. They didn't look

like much, but they intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the cave

with him. As he strolled along the beach, he would throw the clay balls one

at a time out into the ocean as far as he could.

He thought little about it, until he dropped one of the clay balls and it

cracked open on a rock . Inside was a beautiful, precious stone!

Excited, the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each

contained a similar treasure He found thousands of dollars worth of jewels

in the 20 or so clay balls he had left. Then it struck him. He had been on

the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the clay balls with

their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of thousands of dollars

in treasure, he could have taken home tens of thousands, but he had just

thrown it away!

It's like that with people. We look at someone, maybe even ourselves, and we

see the external clay vessel. It doesn't look like much from the outside. It

isn't always beautiful or sparkling, so we discount it. We see that person

as less important than someone more beautiful or stylish or well known or

wealthy. But we have not taken the time to find the treasure hidden inside

that person.

There is a treasure in each and every one of us. If we take the time to get

to know that person, and if we ask God to show us that person the way He

sees them, then the clay begins to peel away and the brilliant gem begins to

shine forth.

May we not come to the end of our lives and find out that we have thrown

away a fortune in friendships because the gems were hidden in bits of clay.

May we see the people in our world as God sees them.

I am so blessed by the gems of friendship I have with you.. Thank you for

looking beyond my clay vessel.

APPRECIATE EVERY SINGLE

THING YOU HAVE, ESPECIALLY YOUR FRIENDS!

LIFE IS TOO SHORT AND FRIENDS ARE TOO FEW!

Do not ask the Lord to Guide your Footsteps if you are not willing to MOVE

your Feet'

Count Your Blessings

Count your blessings instead of your crosses,

Count you gains instead of your losses,

Count your joys instead of your woes,

Count your friends instead of your foes.

Count your courage instead of your fears,

Count your laughs instead of your tears.

Count your full years instead of your lean,

Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.

Count you health instead of your wealth,

Count on God instead of yourself.

Keeping all in my prayers. Thank you for yours! It's a blessing that we can come hear to find words of encouragement, and have hope when we hear of others blessings. It's nice that we can come here with our prayer requests. May God bless us and teach us to be praying friends.

Until next time...

Take Care and God Bless!
