Hello my friends! It's been a good weekend! Hope yours was, too. As I mentioned on the last thread, I did meet my friend, Jeannie, after the Mass this morning, at this her parish, and here she looked better than I've ever known her. She was not using a cane, and walking great. She was miss-diagnosed years ago as having MS, and long story short, she was at the Mayo Clinic and it's a different muscle thing, but not MS and she's now looking great! We exchanged phone numbers, email addresses and will keep in touch. She has GPS so that can show her exactly how to get to our house! I just want to praise and thank our God for this great blessing! Another blessing, Lori came for supper, with Ollie, who didn't want to go home again with her! Such a funny dog! When she told him we're going home, he wouldn't come, he tipped over on his back feet up protesting! So she carried him to the car! Guess he thought they should stay a lot longer! Tonight in Germany Lori's friend, Katrin is having her whole colon removed - please, please pray for her - she's only in the 30's. This will be a start of a year's worth of surgeries for her. In Germany it's morning there now. Also she has a client, Amanda, who has a disease that is really making that young woman sick, please also pray for her! Ever hear of Pots Disease? I didn't but that's what she has. Lori does massages on her a lot. They help her. Praying for you all for all your needs.
Most often a gentle approach is the best resolution to a conflict.
Lord, I have been given today to improve myself and make life
better for others. Help me walk in the way that You lead me.
Scripture for the day:
"For we are God's servants, working together; you are God's field,
God's building." ~1 Corinthians 3:9
Meditation for the day:
We are God's servants. We can serve God cheerfully and readily.
Nobody likes a servant who avoids extra work, who complains about
being called from one task to do one less enjoyable. A master would
feel that he was being ill served by such a servant. But is that not
how we so often serve God? We can view our day's work in this light.
We can try to do our day's work the way we believe God wants us to do
it, never shirking any responsibility and often going out of our way
to be of service.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may be a good servant. I pray that I may be willing to
go out of my way to be of service.
36 Stress Reducers

4. Say No, to projects that won't fit into your time schedule
or that will compromise your mental health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are

of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation,
forget it.

purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra
house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.,

to try and pray.

25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope
is often a good "Thank you, Jesus!"

BUCKING THE WIND
By Marion Smith
Psalm 9:10 God does not forsake those who seek Him.
The wind had recently shifted its direction and was now blowing from
the East, blasting its fury to anyone who bucked it. I held my cap
onto my head as I walked with a brisk step when the wind was at my
back. My pace was lively and I felt invigorated with the brisk breeze
pushing me from behind. Everything changed, however, when I turned
around to walk home. Facing the wind was not easy- each step became
labored as I pushed ahead- forcing one foot ahead of the other to
reach my destination.
I noticed that the birds, also, were experiencing the same
predicament. As they flew with the wind, they seemed to soar easily
and speedily with no effort. Any birds flying the opposite direction-
facing the wind - had a more difficult flight. Their little wings
worked furiously as they made a major effort to travel a short
distance.
It was nice when the wind was behind me- almost carrying me along on
my walk. I also like it when my life is moving along smoothly, and I
have the winds of life almost carrying me - unruffled sailing all the
way! Life isn’t always so easy, though. There are many times when
existence is hard to face. Trials, disappointments and life’s hard
knocks can make me feel like I am bucking the wind. The road of life
seems arduous, and I have to push one foot in front of the other to
continue along this path.
I know Jesus is on the walk of life with me, and because of Him I will
reach my destination surrounded by His precious love. During calm or
turbulent times He is there- for He promised never to leave or forsake
me.(Psalm 9:10) I am so thankful for that.
Meet God in the morning
I met God in the morning
when my day was at its best
His Presence was like sunshine
like a glory in my breast.
All day long He sailed beside me,
all day long He stayed with me,
And we sailed thru gentle waters
over a very troubled sea.
Other ships were torn and battered,
Other ships where so distressed
But the winds that seemed to guide them
Brought to me a peace and rest.
When I think of other mornings
with a keen remorse of mind
when I too had loosed the moorings
with His Presence left behind.
Now I think I know the secret
learnt thru many a troubled way.
You must meet God in the morning
if you want Him thru the day...
~ THE POWER OF HABIT ~
I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest helper or your heaviest burden.
I will push you onward or drag you down to failure.
I am completely at your command.
Half the things you do you might as well turn over to
me,
And I will be able to do them quickly and correctly.
I am easily managed; you must merely be firm with me.
Show me exactly how you want something done,
And after a few lessons I will do it automatically.
I am the servant of all great individuals
And, alas, of all failures as well.
Those who are great I have made great
Those who are failures I have made failures.
I am not a machine,
Though I work with all the precision of a machine
Plus the intelligence of a human being.
You may run me for profit or run me for ruin;
It makes no difference to me.
Take me, train me, be firm with me,
And I will put the world at your feet
Be easy with me, and I will destroy you.
Who am I?
I am habit!
