Meditation for the day:

We can admit our own helplessness. God will hear our prayer. Our own need
can be recognized, then we can ask God for the strength to meet that need.
But once that need is recognized, our prayer is heard above all the music of
heaven. It is not theological arguments that solve the problems of the
questing soul, but the sincere cry of that soul to God for strength and the
certainty of that soul that the cry can be heard and answered.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be humble enough to realize my need and ask for help. I
pray that I may fell certain that God will hear and answer my prayer.

Hello my friends! Hope your day was as nice as ours here! Lots of sunshine
and sun is always good - takes the darkness away - and that's all good.
After Mass it was a very relaxing day - a nice way to spend a Sunday. Lori
surprised us by coming over for a short visit bringing us a Rotisserie
chicken - she bought two for a price and gave us one, and also a bouquet of
tulips! How sweet is that! We scheduled cards with a couple from our card
club for the 14th. This should be an interesting week for Linus. Keep
those prayers coming!! I thank you so much for caring and for your prayers.

Loving God,
there is so much darkness in my life
and I hide from you.
Take my hand
and lead me out of the shadows of my fear.
Help me to change my heart.
Bring me to your truth
and help me to respond to your generous love.

Lenten Prayer to the Holy Archangel St. Gabriel,
Who Strengthened Our Lord in His Agony

O holy Angel Gabriel, who didst strengthen Jesus Christ our Lord, come and
strengthen us also; come and tarry not!

I salute thee, holy Angel who didst comfort my Jesus in His agony, and with
thee I praise the most holy Trinity for having chosen thee from among all
the holy Angels to comfort and strengthen Him Who is the comfort and
strength of all that are in affliction. By the honor thou didst enjoy and by
the obedience, humility and love wherewith thou didst assist the sacred
Humanity of Jesus, my Saviour, when He was fainting for very sorrow at
seeing the sins of the world and especially my sins, I beseech thee to
obtain for me perfect sorrow for my sins; deign to strengthen me in the
afflictions that now overwhelm me, and in all the other trials, to which I
shall be exposed henceforth and, in particular, when I find myself in my
final agony. Amen.


There in their presence, he was transfigured and his clothes became
amazingly white.." (Mk. 9:2-3)

"Listen to Him"

As Lent progresses, the shadow of the cross begins to loom. Even though the
Gospel narrates the account of the transfiguration of Jesus in glory it is
in the light of his death and resurrection that this scene is to be viewed.
The obedience of Jesus is seen to be prefigured in that of Abraham who
offered his only son. God´s promise to Abraham subsequently is also seen to
have been fulfilled in a manner beyond all expectation by his raising of
Jesus from death.

PERSONAL PRAYER

God, our heavenly Father, we see in Jesus a person who is at the same time
your only begotten Son and a human being. Help us not to lose sight of
either side of this great mystery and to keep both of its parts in balance.
May we take confidence from the fact that Jesus was a human being as we are
and like us in all things except sin and at the same time offer him the
praise and worship which is due as your only Son. We make this our prayer
through the same Jesus, the Christ, our Lord. Amen.

The man whispered, "God, speak to me".
And a meadowlark sang.

But the man did not hear.

So the man yelled "God, speak to me".
And the thunder & lightning rolled across the sky.

But the man did not listen.

The man looked around and said, "God, let me see you."
And a star shined brightly.

But the man did not see.

And, the man shouted, "God, show me a miracle".
And a life was born.

But the man did not notice.

So, the man cried out in despair, "Touch me, God, and let me know you are
here".
Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man.

But the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.

I found this to be a great reminder that God is always around us in the
little and simple things that we take for granted, even in our electronic
age... so I would like to add one more:

The man cried "God, I need your help"...
and an e-mail arrived reaching out with good news and encouragement.

But the man deleted it and continued crying...

The good news is that you are loved.

Don't miss out on a blessing because it isn't packaged the way that you
expect.

Expect the unexpected....

Dear Child:

I just wanted to remind you today of how beautiful you are because there is
a father of lies who will try to deceive you. He will try to tell you that
you are not good enough, not attractive enough, not thin enough, not strong
enough, not smart enough, not righteous enough, and that you are simply
unimportant to Me.

He will try to tell you that you have broken one too many promises, that you
have fallen one too many times, that you have lived one too many lies, and
that you've been going in the wrong direction so long that it is pointless
to turn back now. But guess what?

YOU DO NOT BELONG TO HIM. HE IS NOT YOUR FATHER.

I AM.

You see, you are My creation. My workmanship. You have been borne of My
thought, every part of you placed together by My hands. You have My
thumbprint upon you. You are a princess, did you know that? You are My
child, the child of THE King!

I look at you and see a precious, priceless pearl. There is no ocean I would
not swim, no mountain I would not climb, no price I would not pay to have
you and to be with you and call you My own.

I already have.

I have done all that I could, given all that there is. I desire to be with
you every moment of every day. How I long for you to talk to Me every day.
My love for you never grows cold. My promises are never broken (contrary to
what he might lead you to believe). My character never changes. And you, my
child have been made in My image.

I love you dearly, unconditionally and completely. I understand every
emotion that you have. I've been there. I count every tear that you cry.

And do you know what?

I even know your weaknesses and your failures and your fears. I know those
hidden parts of you that you wish would go away. Those dark corners of your
world that you stuff deep down, praying that no one will ever see. I have
already seen them and they will not change my love for you.

Nothing will.

I love your heart and I desire all of it.

I just wanted to remind you today of how beautiful you are and how precious
you are to Me.
