Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Never let the abundance of gifts from God cause you to forget the Giver.
Lord, may I start and end each day with a thank you to You for all of my
blessings including those which I take for granted.

Scripture of the day

"Help me, O LORD my God! Save me according to your steadfast love."
~Psalm 109:26
Meditation for the day:

I can depend on God to supply me with all the power I need to face any
situation, provided that I will sincerely believe in that power and honestly
ask for it, at the same time making all my life conform to what I believe
God wants me to be. I can come to God as a business manager would come to
the owner of the business, knowing that to lay the matter before God means
immediate cooperation, providing the matter has merit.

Prayer for the day

I pray that I may believe that God is ready and willing to supply me with
all that I need. I pray that I may ask only for faith and strength to meet
any situation.

Hello my friends! Beautiful day here today - snow is melting again! We went shopping at Penny's for a new Bed Set and found a nice one for 80.00. Haven't had a new one for ages.
It does wonders for the room! It's wine colored and matching pillows - never had that before either. Lori is having a super bowl party tonight - we were invited but decided to stay home. She's having enough people over - serving chili and cornbread. Others are bringing food too. Bet they're having fun but I’m not into football. He's watching it now and I’m over here. We don't have two TV's - sometimes it would be nice, but not worth buying another one. A blessing I take for granted so much is my food processor! I use it so much. Potatoes ready for hashbrowns in second! I've got some sweet potatoes now too, so next time I make hashbrowns it'll be with sweet potatoes. It's good, made that before. Well we tried playing that two handed 500 today - it's ok. Good for a change. Please remember Darla in prayer for interviews for a new job and tomorrow she has her review - and she's been very busy getting papers ready for her review. She could lose her job if her review doesn't go over well. She is so stressed! Thanks in advance for praying.

Prayer

If there is no love in our home,
let us first examine our prayer life.
Is it faithful, is it true, is it constant,
is it full, is it so real
that in the silence of our hearts
we can hear him speak?
from Thirsting for God: Mother Teresa

My Prayer to Our Mother Mary
Hail be unto thee, Mary, whom God Almighty has exalted above all of his other servants!! God has entrusted us unto your care and graciously grants any request that you make of Him on our behalf, if it is in accordance with His Divine Will. Our hearts burn with zeal as we honor you our Mother. We love you as a child loves a mother and you love us as mother loves her children. Please guide us, your little ones, to our Eternal and Almighty Father God through our prayers and through your love for us. Many in this world may slander and degrade you while still claiming to exalt God, please forgive them and pray for them for they may dishearten your devoted children. May we be made worthy of the promises of Christ through your prayers. You love us so freely and we are so unworthy of it. You love us because God and Christ loved us first. Mary, mother, I love you. Amen.

My Child...
Sometimes I ask the question,
"My Lord, is this Your will?"
It's then I hear You answer me,
"My Precious Child...Be still."
Sometimes I feel frustrated,
Cause I think I know what's best.
It's then I hear You say to me,
"My Busy Child...Just rest."
Sometimes I feel so lonely
And I think I'd like a mate.
Your still small voice gets oh so clear
And says, "My Child...Please wait."
"I know the plans I have for you,
The wondrous things you'll see;
If you can just be patient, Child,
And put your trust in Me.
I've plans to draw you closer.
I've plans to help you grow.
There's much I do you cannot see
And much you do not know.
But know this, Child...I LOVE YOU.
You are precious unto Me.
Before I formed you in the womb,
I planned your destiny.
I've something very special
I hope for you to learn.
The gifts I wish to give to you
Are gifts you cannot earn.
They come without a price tag,
But not without a cost;
At Calvary, I gave My Son,
So you would not be lost.
Rest Child, and do not grow weary
Of doing what is good.
I promise I'll come back for you
Just like I said I would.
Your name is written on My palm,
I never could forget;
Therefore, do not be discouraged
When my answer is...'Not yet.'"

Lord Guide Me
Help me, Lord, that I should know
The way you would have me to go.
Lead me on life's stormy sea
Through all the trials that be.
Give me strength that I may not fail
When I am weak and my ship has no sail.
Guide me through the stormy blast.
Give me courage while life shall last.
Lord, my life belongs to thee.
Give me faith to stand for thee.
Lead me when trails are rough and steep
And through waters that are turbid and deep.
Lord, always stay near my side
When trouble comes be thou my guide.
Lord, I know your ways are true
In things you speak and deeds you do.
Keep me, Lord, while life does last.
Let my feet not stray from your path.
Give me a light to lead me home
That in this world of darkness I may cease to roam.
Thank you, Lord, for the guidance given
And the narrow road that leads to Heaven.

Your Work Today
Is anyone happier because you passed this way?
Does anyone remember that you spoke to him today?
Can you say tonight, in parting with the day that is slipping fast,
That you helped a single person of the many that you passed ?
Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said?
Does the man whose hopes were fading, now in courage look ahead?
Did you leave a trail of kindness or a scar of discontent?
As you close your eyes in slumber, do you think that God will say,
You have earned one more tomorrow by the work you did today.

PEARLS
Author Unknown
The cheerful girl with bouncy golden curls was almost five. Waiting
with her mother at the checkout stand, she saw them: a circle of
glistening white pearls in a pink foil box. "Oh please, Mommy, can I
have them? Please, Mommy, please?"
Quickly the mother checked the back of the little foil box and then
looked back into the pleading blue eyes of her little girl's upturned
face. "A dollar ninety-five. That's almost $2.00. If you really want
them, I'll think of some extra chores for you and in no time you can
save enough money to buy them for yourself. Your birthday's only a
week away and you might get another crisp dollar bill from Grandma."
As soon as Jenny got home, she emptied her penny bank and counted out
17 pennies. After dinner, she did more than her share of chores and
she went to the neighbor and asked Mrs. McJames if she could pick
dandelions for ten cents. On her birthday, Grandma did give her
another new dollar bill and at last she had enough money to buy the
necklace.
Jenny loved her pearls. They made her feel dressed up and grown up.
She wore them everywhere-Sunday school, kindergarten, even to bed. The
only time she took them off was when she went swimming or had a bubble
bath. Mother said if they got wet, they might turn her neck green.
Jenny had a very loving daddy and every night when she was ready for
bed, he would stop whatever he was doing and come upstairs to read her
a story.
One night when he finished the story, he asked Jenny, "Do you love
me?"
"Oh yes, Daddy. You know that I love you."
"Then give me your pearls."
"Oh, Daddy, not my pearls. But you can have Princess - the white horse
from my collection. The one with the pink tail. Remember, Daddy? The
one you gave me. She's my favorite."
"That's okay, Honey. Daddy loves you. Good night." And he brushed her
cheek with a kiss.
About a week later, after the story time, Jenny's Daddy asked again,
"Do you love me?"
"Daddy, you know I love you."
"Then give me your pearls."
"Oh Daddy, not my pearls. But you can have my baby doll. The brand new
one I got for my birthday. She is so beautiful and you can have the
yellow blanket that matches her sleeper."
"That's okay. Sleep well. God bless you, little one. Daddy loves you."
And as always, he brushed her cheek with a gentle kiss.
A few nights later when her daddy came in, Jenny was sitting on her
bed with her legs crossed Indian-style. As he came close, he noticed
her chin was trembling and one silent tear rolled down her cheek.
"What is it, Jenny? What's the matter?"
Jenny didn't say anything but lifted her little hand up to her daddy.
And when she opened it, there was her little pearl necklace. With a
little quiver, she finally said, "Here, Daddy. It's for you."
With tears gathering in his own eyes, Jenny's kind daddy reached out
with one hand to take the dime-store necklace, and with the other hand
he reached into his pocket and pulled out a blue velvet case with a
strand of genuine pearls and gave them to Jenny. He had them all the
time. He was just waiting for her to give up the dime-store stuff so
he could give her genuine treasure.
Jenny's father is like our heavenly Father. He also is waiting for us
to give up our dime store stuff and seek Him first... so He can fling
open the windows of Heaven and pour us out such a blessing that we
will not have room enough to hold it.
What are you hanging on to?
Never be afraid to try something new.

Remember, amateurs built the ark.
Professionals built the Titanic.

Hope you like these - they were sent to my list this morning. Tomorrow another Monday - beginning of another week of blessings. We have to look at it that way - because God IS blessing us all the time, we should take notice! Enjoy your blessings!
