Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Everything we need to deal with life's problems lies within us. Our trials
are tests to see if we can discover the solution. Lord, I call out Your name
when I face my difficulties and together we will overcome them.

Scripture for the day:

"What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is
spirit. Do not be astonished that I said to you, 'You must be born from
above.' The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but
you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with
everyone who is born of the Spirit." ~John 3:6-8

Meditation for the day:

Once I am "born of the spirit," that is my life's breath. Within me is the
life of life, so that I can never perish. The life that down the ages has
kept God's children through peril, adversity and sorrow. I can try never to
doubt or worry, but follow where the life of the spirit leads. How often,
when little I know it, God goes before me to prepare the way, to soften a
heart, or to overrule a resentment. As the life of the spirit grows, natural
wants become less important.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that my life may become centered in God more than in self. I pray
that my will may be directed toward doing God's will.

Hope you all had a nice, family time New Year! It was very peaceful and
relaxing for us and we played some more canasta - had a good nap this
afternoon too.
I'm thinking for a good New Year's Resolution would be to get private prayer
deepened - and meditate at least 15 minutes daily - trying to get the same
time daily if possible.
I heard about this on Relevant Radio this morning and thought that's what I
will do. The priest on the radio said that when distractions come, bring
them to the Lord and then they are no longer distractions, but let the Lord
handle them, or discuss them with Him. That makes sense, doesn't it? I'm
feeling better except for that cough that comes and goes. Couldn't make it
to Mass this morning because of it - and it was very windy out and cold too.
Hubby said the priest's message today was to ponder more - like meditation,
right?
Let us all strive to be better pray-ers and improve ourselves in whatever
way we feel the need to during this year.
My prayers are with you all!

Diary Of A Bible

JANUARY:

A busy time for me.
Most of the family decided to read me through this year.
They kept me busy for the first two weeks, but they have forgotten me now.

FEBRUARY:

Cleanup time.
I was dusted yesterday and put in my place.
My owner did use me for a few minutes last week.
He had been in an argument and was looking up some references to prove he
was right.

MARCH:

Had a busy day first of the month.
My owner was elected president of the PTA and used me to prepare a speech.

APRIL:

Grandpa visited us this month.
He kept me on his lap for an hour reading Cor 1:13.
He seems to think more of me than do some people in my own household.

MAY:

I have a few green stains on my pages.
Some spring flowers were pressed in my pages.

JUNE:

I look like a scrapbook.
They have stuffed me full of newspaper clippings - one of the girls got
married.

JULY:

They put me in a suitcase today.
I guess we are off on vacation.
I wish I could stay home.
I know I'll be closed up in this thing for at least two weeks.

AUGUST:

Still in the suitcase.

SEPTEMBER:

Back home at last and in my old familiar place.
I have a lot of company.
Two women's magazines and four comic books are stacked on top of me.
I wish I could be read as much as they are.

OCTOBER:

They read me a little bit today.
One of them is very sick.
Right now I am sitting in the center of the coffee table.
I think the Pastor is coming by for a visit.

NOVEMBER:

Back in my old place.
Somebody asked today if I were a scrapbook.

DECEMBER:

The family is busy getting ready for the holidays.
I guess I'll be covered up under wrapping paper & packages again ...just as
I am every Christmas.

This coming year, I have decided that with God's help, I shall:-

Give up complaining . . . focus on gratitude.

Give up harsh judgments . . . think kind thoughts.

Give up worry . . . trust divine providence.

Give up discouragement . . . be full of hope.

Give up bitterness . . . turn to forgiveness.

Give up hatred . . . return good for evil.

Give up anger . . . practice patience.

Give up pettiness . . . put on maturity.

Give up gloom. . . enjoy the beauty that is around me.

Give up gossiping . . . control my tongue.

Words from my friend, Mel:

We thank and praise God today
for seeing us through another year!

The old is in our past and the new is evolving.

May every minute of every hour of every day
be blessed beyond your wildest imaginings.

May you find the peace you seek and need.

May you permit the Lord to enter your
mind, heart, soul and spirit
now and forever.

It is said that your attitude determines your altitude
and my prayer is you always acquire
the mind of Jesus.

May you have increased virtues of
Faith, Hope and Love.

May your families be blessed wholly.

This PRAISE is coming to you that you will join in
and sing with your heart
JESUS CHRIST IS LORD FOREVER and EVER!

HOLY HAPPY NEW YEAR !

Good night - May the Angels be with you all night - and God bring you many
blessings daily. God bless you!
