Hello my friends!! Well, Monday is here already! I get to have my teeth cleaned at noon!! Hurrah!! Sleeting now - hope the roads won't be icy by then. Today's blessing would have to be the wonderful Mass - we were last night too because we wanted to be at the Christmas Around the World display and good food! But this morning he promised to be a Communion Minister so we went again, and it was great!! Got to visit with our Church friends, which is always wonderful!! Tomorrow we celebrate Mary's Feast day - Feast of the Immaculate Conception. We'll be going to the 8 AM Mass. On this day, my Mom used to do her Christmas cards, and so will I tomorrow. Hope you all have a great Monday and know you are always in my prayers. Hope you enjoy the inspirations I picked out for tomorrow.
If we look to God for guidance, we will not be weighed down by the
circumstances of our life. Lord, free me from the worries that come
to distract me and keep me focused on that which is important.

"One of the scribes came near and heard them disputing with one
another, and seeing that he answered them well, he asked him, 'Which
commandment is the first of all?' Jesus answered, 'The first is,
'Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the
Lord your God with
all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and
with all your strength.' The second is this, 'You shall love your
neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than
these." ~Mark 12:28-31

To truly desire to do God's will , therein lies happiness for us. We
can start out wanting our own way. We want our wills to be satisfied.
We can take and not give. Gradually, we can find that we are not
happy when we are selfish, so we begin to make allowances for other
peoples' wills. But this again dos not give us full happiness, and we
begin to see that the only way to be truly happy is to try to do God's
will. In these times of meditation, we can seek to get guidance so
that we can find God's will for us.
P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y
I pray that I may subordinate my will to the will of God. I pray that
I may be guided today to find God's will for me.
WHEN I FORGET TO PRAY
Sometimes when things are going great I forget to Pray
Then in darkness I stumble and lose my way.
I open a closet where I have tucked Jesus in
I have to ask for Guidance to find my way Again
Once More a light begins to shine
I find Peace and Contentment in this troubled Life of Mine
He says My Child did you forget I am always here for you
To help with the bad times you go through
I am The Alpha and Omega The Beginning and The End
Child, I will not Forsake You, I am Your Best Friend.
Remember when you feel forsaken and you lose your way.
Just Bow Your Head and Open Up Your Heart
Don't Forget To Pray!
written by Rose Ballard
There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given
a slingshot to play with in the woods. He practiced in the woods, but he
could never hit the target.
Getting a little discouraged, he headed back to dinner. As he was walking
back he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot
fly, hit the duck square in the head, and killed it. He was shocked and
grieved. In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile, only to see his
sister watching. Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.
After lunch the next day Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the dishes." But
Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen." Then
she whispered to him, "Remember the duck?" So Johnny did the dishes.
Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and
Grandma said, "I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper."
Sally just smiled and said, "Well that's all right because Johnny told me he
wanted to help. She whispered again, "Remember the duck?" So Sally went
fishing and Johnny stayed to help.
After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's he finally
couldn't stand it any longer. He came to Grandma and confessed the he had
killed the duck.
Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug, and said, "Sweetheart, I know. You see,
I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing. But because I love
you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a
slave of you."
Thought for the day and everyday there after: Whatever is in your past,
whatever you have done and the devil keeps throwing it up in your face
(lying, debt, fear, hatred, anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, etc.) whatever
it is, you need to know that Jesus Christ was standing at the window and He
saw the whole thing, He has seen your whole life. He wants you to know that
He loves you and that you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you
will let the devil make a slave of you.
The great thing about God is that when you ask for forgiveness, He not only
forgives you, but He forgets.
It is hard
To forget
To apologize
To save money
To be unselfish
To avoid mistakes
To keep out of a rut
To begin all over again
To make the best of all things
To keep your temper at all times
To think first and act afterwards
To maintain a high standard
To keep on keeping on
To shoulder blame
To be charitable
To admit error
To take advice
To forgive
But it pays!

A woman once fretted over the usefulness of her life. She feared she was
wasting her potential being a devoted wife and mother.
She wondered if the time and energy she invested in her husband, and
children would make a difference.
At times she got discouraged because so much of what she did seemed to go
unnoticed and unappreciated.
"Is it worth it?" she often wondered. Is there something better I could be
doing with my time? It was during these moments of questioning that she
heard the still small voice of the Father speak to her heart:
"You are a wife and mother because that is what I called you to be. Much of
what you do is hidden from the public eye. But I notice.
Much of what you do is without remuneration. But I am your reward. Your
husband cannot be the man I have called him to be without your support. Your
influence upon him is greater than you will ever know. I bless him through
your service and honor him through your love,
Your children are precious to me. Even more precious than they are to you. I
have entrusted them into your care to raise for me.
What you invest in them is an offering to me true, You may never be in the
public spotlight. But your obedience shines as a bright light before me.
Continue on. Remember, you are my servant.

Gloriajean........The grave covers are usually oval shaped pieces consisting of evergreens and some sort of Christmas decoration, generally bows, artifical pointsettias, maybe an ornament or two or anything along the decoration theme and placed over the grave in front of the headstone. They are also referred to as grave blankets. Some people hang wreaths on the headstones. The difficult part is using the thin wodden spikes to secure the cover/blankets. But they do look beautiful.
snappy......I hope you see this post. Thank you for taking the time to express your kind thoughts to me and thank you for inviting me to post on the Widows thread. I have been reading the postings there, and the ladies are indeed a wonderful group. I may take you up on your invitation. Again thank you.

Hello everyone,
"Comfort each other and edify one another." 1 Thessalonians 5:11
The one thing that I have found about coming here and reading the "Positive Thread" everyday is...each and everyone of you bring encouragement to all who read. Whether it's through the words that are written or the graphics. When one thinks about that...isn't that what we are meant to do as followers of Christ.
Lord Jesus thank You for all who post here. Thank You for bringing Gloriajean to us each day. Help us, Lord, not to think that we can go through life without others. Use us Lord to bless others and humble us to accept encouragement. "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." Hebrews 10:24
Danky, Shorelady, Snappyfrappy, asking God to comfort and bring peace to your hearts. Danky, prayers for safe travels, and look forward when you return.
Keeping all in my prayers. Thank you for yours! Remember dear friends, a word of encouragement can make the difference between giving up or going on. Until next time...
Take care, stay safe and God bless!

shorelady - Now I know what you mean. We just call it decorating the graves and they do look beautiful! I even had to paint a mallard duck, a cement one, for my brother-in-law's grave, as he was a hunter, died of a heart attack at age 46. I was painting ducks at the time for a ten year period, and so had all the paints for it. That did look nice there, around decorations. I mean I was asked to paint it, they got the cement mold for me to paint so I tried it and it did turn out well. I just never heard covers for them.
Juanita - What a sweet post - as usual. At the beginning the Q wouldn't allow graphics, do you remember that? If anyone would post one, it got poofed. But there are so many beautiful, meaningful graphics now - I'm glad they let it be. It's true that everyone brings encouragement to all who read. I praise and thank our God for all the friends He gives us through here.

Hello Everyone!
It was a busy day yesterday, and I never even got online, let alone post. This morning I attended 9:00 mass, and did a few errands while I was in town. We're supposed to get a snowstorm within the next day or so, so I'm glad I've been to the store, as I didn't realize anything was even supposed to come. A few other small stops got taken care of so I won't have to go back to town until maybe the end of the week. Love when I can stay home and not worry about running anywhere.
We're in a good place getting ready for the holidays. I still have to do my cards too,and wrap a few things, but the tree and decorations are done, as well as the shopping. I'll be baking less this year, and feel good about it. Our family just doesn't have the interest after a big meal, so I figured it was time to make things a little easier for myself.
I have to go back and read the threads for both days yet, but didn't want to let another day pass and not post. Have a good week everyone! Hope the spirit of the season fills your heart early and stays late! Hugs, pinky

Blessings back to Harlene, Bobbiesue and Pinky Ann! Pinky - it's a good thing to cut down on the baking - I sure have! I haven't done Christmas Cookies in years! And we don't miss it! Good for you that you are finished decorating. I haven't started anything - and being we'll be gone, I'm not in the mood. But I will get our cards out because these have our Anniversary picture! Don't overdue yourself with work.
