Daily Positive Thread for Monday

You will be what you believe that you are and you will become what you
believe
you can become. Lord, increase my humility so that I may always be mindful
that the good within comes from You.

Brothers and sisters: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the
heavens, as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be
holy and without blemish before him. In love he destined us for adoption
to himself through Jesus Christ, in accord with the favor of his will, for
the praise of the glory of his grace that he granted us in the beloved.
~Ephesians 1:3-6,11-12

Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me
according to your word." Then the angel departed from her. ~Luke 1:26-28

Today, as we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the
Blessed Virgin Mary we celebrate her special place with God and the fact
that from her Conception she was preserved from the stain of Original Sin.
As we rely on her presence and intercession we strive to follow her
example as well. As she said, "I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be
done to me according to your word."

I pray that I may rely on the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I
pray that I may be inspired by her example and know that I too and the
handmaid of the Lord. I pray that I may accept my life as a gift from God
and proclaim, "May it be done to me according to your word."

Greetings my friends! Hope you all had a good and blessed Sunday! Very
relaxing here - After Mass my dear husband make a brunch for us - I always
let him cook whenever he wants to! He's a good cook and likes to be
creative. We rested in the afternoon - and he watched TV. We got picked up
tonight by our friends, Ray and Ann, again for our Church meeting which is
now learning all about the Mass changes, and it was a very nice meeting -
our own 10 people (group) which has met for the last few years for our "Why
Catholic" groups. We will have three more sessions of this. The new Mass
changes takes effect the beginning of Advent. Sorry though, I had to turn
down dinner and dominoes with Lori though tonight. We'll do that another
time. Card Club has started again for the season. Got a call to come to a
new couple's house for Tuesday afternoon.

God's Messengers By: Helen Steiner Rice

The unexpected kindness from an unexpected place
a hand outstretched in friendship, a smile on someone's face.
A word of understanding spoken in a time of trail
are unexpected miracles that make life more worthwhile.
We know not how it happened that in our hour of need somebody out of nowhere
proved to be a friend indeed.
For God has many messengers we fail to recognize, but He sends them when we
need them, and His ways are wondrous and wise.
So keep looking for your angel and keep listening to hear, for on life's
busy, crowded streets you will find God's presence near.

Let Me Be a Rock

God,
let me be a rock on which others can lean
in their times of hardship.
When all seems bleak,
send me signs of your presence,
signs as simple as rainbows and smiles.
Amen.

45 LESSONS OF LIFE
By Regina Brett

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland,
Ohio

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught
me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written. My odometer
rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone...
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and
parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first pay cheque.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't s crew up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their
journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God
never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one
is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no
for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie.
Don't save it for a special occasion, Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important s$x organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years,
will this matter?'
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you
did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's,
we'd grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
42. The best is yet to come.
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.
45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

Speak now of yourself, my wonderful friend.
What are the needs of your soul? Write a list - a long list - of all of your
desires. No, this is not being self-centered or selfish, for I have asked
you to unburden everything upon Me. Write this list, and then come and read
it to Me. Let us speak of how your desires will glorify My Father, and I
will hold the list close to My heart.

What are the concerns you have about yourself? In just a few words, tell Me
how self-indulgent you sometimes get, how proud, how arrogant, how rude.
Tell Me how overly emotional you sometimes feel, how frustrated, how touchy,
how impatient. What else don´t you like about yourself? I already know these
things, and yet I love you no less for them. Ask Me to help you improve, and
I will gently work to transform you.

There is nothing good that I would not give you. Our Father created the
universe and all that is in it. Everything is at My disposal to do as I
desire, and I desire to give good gifts to you. Tell Me what you want. You
have no idea how much I long to give you what is good! Much more is
available to you than what you have now.

Peaceful Place

Heavenly Father
Full of Grace
Please take me to
A peaceful place.

When the burdens of this world
Seem to great to bear,
Help me to place them at the cross
And leave them in Your care.

And, Lord, help me to remember
That my needs; both great and small
You have promised to provide for me --
You will hear me when I call.

So when this world's got me down
And I don't know what to do,
Help me to remember You're there for me
And I can run to You.

You wrap me in
Your warm embrace
And wipe each tear
From my tear-stained face.

Heavenly Father
Full of Grace
It is in Your arms
I find my peaceful place.
