Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Enthusiasm will be yours if you love God, love people, and love life.
Lord, the nearer I follow Your way, the happier I become.

"I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the
world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the
world!" ~John 16:33

"I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the
world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the
world!" We can keep an undaunted spirit. We can keep our spirit free
and unconquered. We can be undefeated and untouched by failure and
all its power, by letting our spirit overcome the world. We can rise
above the earth's turmoil into the secret place of perfect peace and
confidence. When a challenge comes to us, we can remember that we have
God's help and nothing can wholly defeat us.

I pray that I may have confidence and be of good cheer. I pray that I
may not fear the power of failure.

Greetings my friends! Hope you all had a very blessed Sunday. It was for
us - beautiful weather, beautiful Mass with beautiful singing, wonderful
homily by Fr. Matt, and we were invited to Linus' brother's place for a
meal - all his siblings. Once a year they invite us all for their
chokecherry dessert - and wine. They make wines, so we had wine tasting
too. It was a good day!
Although I was having a problem this morning with bladder infection, it
didn't keep me away from Mass or going to his brother's place. So that was
a great blessing! It's back now, but I'm not worried - it'll go again soon.
My back has been sore yet since chopping on those apples, and on Tuesday
Lori has time for me for a massage!! Another blessing! Hope you all have a
great Monday and sleep well tonight - Sweet Dreams!

ONE

ONE SONG CAN SPARK A MOMENT,

ONE FLOWER CAN WAKE THE DREAM.

ONE TREE CAN START A FOREST,

ONE BIRD CAN HERALD SPRING.

ONE SMILE BEGINS A FRIENDSHIP,

ONE HANDCLASP LIFTS A SOUL.

ONE STAR CAN GUIDE A SHIP AT SEA,

ONE WORD CAN FRAME THE GOAL.

ONE VOTE CAN CHANGE A NATION,

ONE SUNBEAM LIGHTS A ROOM.

ONE CANDLE WIPES OUT DARKNESS,

ONE LAUGH WILL CONQUER GLOOM.

ONE STEP MUST START EACH JOURNEY,

ONE WORD MUST START EACH PRAYER.

ONE HOPE WILL RAISE OUR SPIRITS,

ONE TOUCH CAN SHOW YOU CARE.

ONE VOICE CAN SPEAK WITH WISDOM,

ONE HEART CAN KNOW WHAT'S TRUE.

ONE LIFE CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE,

YOU SEE, IT'S UP TO YOU.

--
We need to get away at times
From life's demanding ways
And find some quiet, little nook
in which to dream or pray

A small escape from daily trials
that temper joys of life
and burden us with little fears
that add to tears of strife

a private place where we can be
alone in God's embrace
and dream, a little, and dwell, a little
in arms of Holy Grace

A place to rest our heart and soul
against what is to be
when return to what we left
and what we can't foresee.

IN MEMORIUM

Who cannot remember?
Who cannot pause
For a moment of prayer
United in one cause
~ Because ~

We care on 9-11-01's ~ 10th Anniversary!

Heavenly Father, Almighty God,
You know the wherefores and the whys;
You have heard those thousands of cries
As the Twin Towers tumbled,
And human bodies crumbled,
As Washington and Pennsylvania
Suffered also terrorist mania.

You met them where they were
While Your Love in their hearts did spur
Some to become heroes to the end ~
They knew You were their Best Friend.
Their Faith did not bend.
Their reward, Your Gift to them,
Paradise, a Treasure, and Precious Gem.

Bless with healing those who remain
Be their refuge; keep them sane.
Bless them with Peace of minds
And with Graces of all kinds.

Comfort them with the thought
They all are Blood-bought.

May their souls aspire higher
'Til You meet them,
Greet them,
and
Seat them
At the Grand Banquet of The Lamb.

Mel Patterson, 9-11-06

Father,
May I always remember
that all the parts of my body are good because you made them,
that my body does not belong to me but to you,
who bought it at my Baptism
at the price of Christ's Cross
and that my body is the living temple of the Holy Spirit.
Give me self-control over my passions, appetites and imaginations;
give me respect for the opposite s$x
and esteem for my own;
create in me that wholeness and integrity
that all my powers may be consecrated to your service
according to my state in life.
May Mary the Blessed Virgin Mother,
watch over me through Christ our Lord. Amen.

A PRAYER FOR AMERICA
Father, we beg Your blessing for the Right to Life, the Unborn, the weak,
the sick and the old; all who are finding themselves being targets of the
vicious culture of death; that our Lord Jesus bless and protect all who
stand up for the Christian dignity of persons. That God enlighten those who
are traveling down death's highway by their involvement, in any way, with
either the contemporary death culture, selfism, relativeism, or any of the
new age errors of our times, that God envelop our culture with His Divine
protection and help us both individually and as a nation to true
enlightenment, conversion and repentance of our selves and our culture. Help
us to turn from our national sin of abortion, and return to, and once again
become a Christian nation, on the narrow road, that is, the path to becoming
a nation and culture, under God. Amen.
