Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Stay close to God because He is the solution to all problems. Lord, I will
live in Your presence, protected by You and Your peace will be mine.

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and
I will give you rest." ~Matthew 11:28

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and
I will give you rest." For rest from the cares of life, we can turn to
God each day in prayer and communion. Real relaxation and serenity come
from a deep sense of the fundamental goodness of the universe. God's
everlasting arms are underneath all and can support us. We can commune
with God, not so much for petitions to be granted as for the rest that
comes from our relying on God's will and God's purposes for our lives.
We can be sure of God's strength available to us, and conscious of God's
support. We can wait quietly until that true rest from God fills our
being.

I pray that I may be conscious of God's support today. I pray that I
may rest safe and sure therein.

Hello my friends! Today has been a blessing seeing my sister, Deil, again,
as we brought our Sammy over for her to take care of while we're in Texas.
I called later to find out how he is, he first cried - then her neighbor
came over and took him out for a walk. He'll be ok there, he was there for a
week before with no problems. He just didn't like to see us leave without
him!
I have to cut this really short as we will soon be leaving so have good
blessing days!!! Wishing you all the best! Pray for our safe trip!

GOOD WAY TO START THE DAY
Author Unknown

Dear God,

I'm writing to say I'm sorry
For being angry yesterday
When you seemed to ignore my prayer
And things didn't go my way

First, my car broke down
I was very late for work
But I missed that awful accident
Was that your handiwork?

I found a house I loved
But others got there first
I was angry, then relieved
When I heard the pipes had burst!

Yesterday, I found the perfect dress
But the color was too pale
Today, I found the dress in red
Would you believe, it was on sale!

I know you're watching over me
And I'm feeling truly blest
For no matter what I pray for
You always know what's best!

I have this circle of E-mail friends,
Who mean the world to me;
Some days I "send" and "send",
At other times, I let them be.

When I see each name download,
And view the message they've sent;
I know they've thought of me that day,
And "well wishes" were their intent.

I am so blessed to have these friends,
With whom I've grown so close;
So this little poem I dedicate to them,
Because to me they are the "Most"!

So to you, my friends, I would like to say,
Thank you for being a part;
Of all my daily contacts,
This comes right from my heart.

God bless you all is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until we write again.

God Bless You.

Ears Wide Open

Over the years my grandfather taught me many lessons, none more important
than this: A closed mouth and open ears insure a great opportunity.

While running his gasoline station, I saw him listen to farmers when they
stopped in for coffee. He gave an attentive ear as he filled gas tanks. I
noticed that people would tell my grandpa anything. They would bear their
souls and open their hearts whenever they saw him. I always thought it would
be easy to solve their problems with some good advice, but Grandpa would
simply listen. He would not speak unless and until they asked. When he did
speak, they listened because he knew their story and they trusted him.

Scripture talks repeatedly about the importance of being prudent with our
words. No wonder my grandfather's example made such an impression. An ear
quick to listen is far more powerful than a tongue that is quick to wag. My
grandpa taught me that an open ear can be the key to significantly helping
someone experience God's love in their life.

— Doug Baker

Lord, open my ears and help me hold my tongue so that I can be your ear to a
hurting world.

Sweet Life

Life is so sweet
How can I repay?
For all the joys
I reap day by day.

The beauty of nature
I steal by the hours
The aura of God
The soul holds and devours

There are sweet moments
That live in my heart
And all thru a lifetime
We're never apart

We have but to note them
This beautiful place
Full of God's blessings
And filled with His grace.

I thank you so, Father
For all the gifts you bestow
So that in my heart
Love continues to grow

Meditation on Easter Thursday

Charity is not simply liking someone; it is not outward kindness. Charity is
to seek the good of the loved one, to give oneself to the loved one.
Sacrifice is the price and measure of charity.

This terse definition must make us sit up! Are we as charitable as we think
we are? Well, no, but also yes. My personal opinion is that most wives have
a good degree--perhaps a high degree--of charity in the sense that they seek
the good of their spouse and family during their 80-hour weeks and for
thirty, forty, fifty or more years. It is second nature for them to serve,
to clean up, to bear patiently the inevitable family limitations.

That's it until I come back - Thanks for Lucy for taking over! Praying her
computer doesn't crash!! God be with you always!!
