God will give you strength because He will give of Himself.
Lord, thank You for the many gifts of which You always bless me.

"Put these things into practice, devote yourself to them, so that all
may see your progress. Pay close attention to yourself and to your
teaching; continue in these things, for in doing this you will save
both yourself and your hearers." ~1 Timothy 4:15-16

Our true measure of success in life is the measure of spiritual
progress that we have revealed in our lives. Others should be able to
see a demonstration of God's will in our lives. The measure of God's
will that those around us have seen worked out in our daily living is
the measure of our true success. We can do our best to be a
demonstration each day of the power of God in human lives, and example
of the working out of the grace of God in our hearts.

I pray that I may so live that others will see in me something of the
working out of the will of God. I pray that my life may be a
demonstration of what the grace of God can do.
Hi my friends! I'm counting on God's strength, you, too? We all need that in our lives no matter what we do. Hope you all had a good day today. I've been busy cleaning out drawers and throwing away a lot of paper etc. that had accumulated thru the years. Old letters, old emails I printed way over 10 years old when my Glory of God List was just beginning and my members were emailing me telling me all about themselves - that was so nice. Some of them have gone - and don't have their current email address anymore, but I still have a lot of members from the very beginning. Another not bad day for Linus at work - guess his new shoes are working. But towards the end of six hours, his feet start getting tired and sore.
He's off tomorrow, Saturday work 9 hours, he'll take another pair of shoes, Sunday he's off, then he works Monday, Tues. and Wednesday and off Holy Thursday - the day we leave for Texas. Then he's on vacation for 10 days. This morning Jesse, our realtor, was over, and gave us paper work, but we don't sign until Tuesday, then the house goes on the market.
I called the Housekeeper company that Gift Cert. I got for six hours of cleaning house from Lori - and a man is coming on Wednesday after Easter. It'll be the first time anyone cleaned my house, besides my sisters when we moved here, nothing professional. I'm not asking my sisters to help anymore, they've helped me plenty.
Holy Thursday morning Jesse is taking us to see the townhouse I want to see, and also the house next door to Lori. Lori will go along with us as she has a cancellation.

Don´t Just Tell the Truth: Be true!
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Gn 17:3-9 / Jn 8:51-59
One of the saddest and most painful passages in all of American literature is found at the very end of Hawthorne’s novel, THE SCARLET LETTER. The Reverend Dimmesdale had lived a lie for many years, pretending to a life of virtue while leaving the woman he “loved” to reap the scorn of an adulteress in a Puritan community. When at last his end came, the final words from his agonized heart revealed what his sin had taught him, “Be true, be true, be true.”
That is the very advice that Jesus gave to us, not just by his words but by his deeds, by the very shape of his life. At almost any moment up until his last hours, Jesus could have saved his life and secured a long, comfortable life just by “fudging” the truth a little, going along to get along. He could have saved his life and gone home to his mother, found a wife and been a beautiful father. And he would have lost his soul. He knew that it sounded good, but that it was a bad bargain.
Just a few weeks ago, on Ash Wednesday, your forehead was marked with ashes in the sign of a cross. You were marked as a follower of Jesus. Remember that mark always and the commitment to a life of integrity that that mark speaks.
Living each day truthfully, not just telling the truth, but being true, is the only way of living that will grow into eternity!
Sayings of Mother Teresa
When it is hard, remember we are not called
to be successful but to be faithful.
Fidelity is important in the least things, not for their own sake --
for this is the work of small minds --
but for the sake of the great thing which is the will of God.
St. Augustine said, " Little things are indeed little,
but to be faithful in little things is a great thing.
Is not Our Lord equally the same in a small Host as in a great one?
A little boy's hand got stuck in a bottle and his parents tried their best to get his hand out and they couldn't, the only choice left was to break the bottle, but before the father asked his son to open his hand and slowly try to get it out and the boy replied: "If I open my hand, I will drop the dollar?"
Dear Lord,
here we are on this earth,
our total freedom is attached to material objects,
we try to forget about it and make you the centre of our lives, but we fail.
Help us Lord to focus on you as our treasure
and not let go of your love and grace,
and just then we'll find freedom and happiness. Teach us love.
Amen

Luke 12:15 - And he went on to say to them all, "Watch out and guard yourselves from every kind of greed; because a person's true life is not made up of the things he owns, no matter how rich he may be."
Ecclesiastes 5:10 - If you love money, you will never be satisfied; if you long to be rich, you will never get all you want. It is useless.
Ecclesiastes 6:9 - It is better to be satisfied with what you have than to be always wanting something else.

"You are richer today if you have laughed, given, and forgiven." (Anon.)
The Anatomy Of A True Friend
Eyes:
Will always see you for the way you really are, your true self.
Ears:
Will always have them open to listen.
Mouth:
To always tell you the truth and give their opinions, tell you when you
mess up or do something good.
Shoulder:
Will offer when you need one to cry on, will be your strength when you
find it hard to carry yourself. Will always let you lean on them.
Heart:
To love you for who you are and not judge, Will always have a place there
for you.
Hands:
To hold yours when you need a little guidance, to lend when you need
help, and to help you up when you may fall.
Arms:
Will always make you feel comfortable in them and to offer hugs when you
need one. Will try to warm when you are cold.
Feet:
To walk with you throughout your life and be the best friend they can be.
The Emperor's Seed
Once there was an emperor in the Far East who was growing old and knew it
was coming time to choose his successor. Instead of choosing one of his
assistants or one of his own children, he decided to do something different.
He called all the young people in the kingdom together one day. He said, "It
has come time for me to step down and to choose the next emperor. I have
decided to choose one of you." The kids were shocked! But the emperor
continued. "I am going to give each one of you a seed today. One seed. It is
a very special seed. I want you to go home, plant the seed, water it and
come back here one year from today with what you have grown from this one
seed. I will then judge the plants that you bring to me, and the one I
choose will be the next emperor of the kingdom!"
There was one boy named Ling who was there that day and he, like the others,
received a seed. He went home and excitedly told his mother the whole story.
She helped him get a pot and some planting soil, and he planted the seed and
watered it carefully. Every day he would water it and watch to see if it had
grown.
After about three weeks, some of the other youths began to talk about their
seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow. Ling kept going home and
checking his seed, but nothing ever grew. Three weeks, four weeks, five
weeks went by. Still nothing.
By now others were talking about their plants but Ling didn't have a plant,
and he felt like a failure. Six months went by, still nothing in Ling's pot.
He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall
plants, but he had nothing. Ling didn't say anything to his friends,
however. He just kept waiting for his seed to grow.
A year finally went by and all the youths of the kingdom brought their
plants to the emperor for inspection. Ling told his mother that he wasn't
going to take an empty pot. But she encouraged him to go, and to take his
pot, and to be honest about what happened. Ling felt sick to his stomach,
but he knew his mother was right. He took his empty pot to the palace.
When Ling arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by all the
other youths. They were beautiful, in all shapes and sizes. Ling put his
empty pot on the floor and many of the other kinds laughed at him. A few
felt sorry for him and just said, "Hey nice try."
When the emperor arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted the young people.
Ling just tried to hide in the back. "My, what great plants, trees and
flowers you have grown," said the emperor. "Today, one of you will be
appointed the next emperor!"
All of a sudden, the emperor spotted Ling at the back of the room with his
empty pot. He ordered his guards to bring him to the front. Ling was
terrified. "The emperor knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me killed!"
When Ling got to the front, the Emperor asked his name. "My name is Ling,"
he replied. All the kids were laughing and making fun of him. The emperor
asked everyone to quiet down. He looked at Ling, and then announced to the
crowd, "Behold your new emperor! His name is Ling!" Ling couldn't believe
it. Ling couldn't even grow his seed. How could he be the new emperor?
Then the emperor said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone here a seed. I
told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me
today. But I gave you all boiled seeds which would not grow. All of you,
except Ling, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found
that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I
gave you. Ling was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a
pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new
emperor!"
Inspirational:
The cry of man's anguish went up unto God:
"Lord, take away pain!
The shadow that darkens the world You have made;
The close-coiling chain that strangles the heart;
The burden that weighs on the wings that would soar --
Lord, take away pain from the world You have made,
That we should love You more!"
Then answered God to the cry of His world:
"Shall I take away pain,
And with it the power of the soul to endure,
Made strong by the strain?
Shall I take away pity that knits heart to heart,
And sacrifice high?
Will you lose all your heroes that lift from the fire
White brows to the sky?
Shall I take away love, that redeems with a price,
And smiles at its loss?
Can you spare from your lives that would climb unto mine
The Christ on His cross?"

Closing prayer:
Prayer for Christ's Mercy
O Lord, show your mercy to me and gladden my heart. I am like the man on the way to Jericho who was overtaken by robbers, wounded and left for dead. O Good Samaritan, come to my aid, I am like the sheep that went astray. O Good Shepherd, seek me out and bring me home in accord with your will. Let me dwell in your house all the days of my life and praise you for ever and ever with those who are there.
