Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Hello my friends! My husband just got home a little while ago from taking Lori to her eye doctor, she's having eye surgery on the 1st of Feb. for laser, where she won't need glasses or contacts anymore. Her sister had that done years ago and loves it! Lori says good timing, she's out of contact solution and now she won't have to buy any. She's supposed to wear her glasses every day until the surgery. She has to stay overnight in Mpls. then to have to doctor look at it again. So she wants us to come and have a sister weekend with my sisters! I'll have to see how many can come and also if one of my sisters can have us over, she's got room. Blessings today - they didn't run into much traffic, and everything went smoothly. Praying for all who are feeling sick with flu, or anything else, that God will definitely heal you whole again soon! Please say a prayer that my husband's hearing will get better - we can't afford a hearing aid, God knows that. He did say, "Ask and it shall be given to you," so we are asking.

Enthusiasm will be yours if you love God, love people, and love life.

Lord, the nearer I follow Your way, the happier I become.

world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the

world!" ~John 16:33

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

"I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the

world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the

world!" We can keep an undaunted spirit. We can keep our spirit free

and unconquered. We can be undefeated and untouched by failure and

all its power, by letting our spirit overcome the world. We can rise

above the earth's turmoil into the secret place of perfect peace and

confidence. When a challenge comes to us, we can remember that we have

God's help and nothing can wholly defeat us.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may have confidence and be of good cheer. I pray that I

may not fear the power of failure.

...Here are 21 things to remember.......

1. No one can ruin your day without YOUR permission.

2. Most people will be about as happy, as they decide to be.

3. Others can stop you temporarily, but only you can do it permanently.

4. Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will

have.

5. Success stops when you do.

6. When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.

7. You will never "have it all together."

8. Life is a journey...not a destination. Enjoy the trip!

9. The biggest lie on the planet: "When I get what I want, I will be

happy."

10. The best way to escape your problem is to solve it.

11. I've learned that ultimately, 'takers' lose and 'givers' win.

12. Life's precious moments don't have value, unless they are shared.

13. If you don't start, it's certain you won't arrive.

14. We often fear the thing we want the most.

15. He or she who laughs......lasts.

16. Yesterday was the deadline for all complaints.

17. Look for opportunities...not guarantees.

18. Life is what's coming....not what was.

19. Success is getting up one more time.

20. Now is the most interesting time of all.

21. When things go wrong.....don't go with them.

Remind Me God!

When I am lonely and Perhaps I feel despair,

Let not my ailing heart forget That YOU hear every prayer...

Remind me that no matter what I do or fail to do,

There still is hope for as long as I have FAITH in YOU...

Let not my eyes be blinded by Some folly I commit,

But help me to regret my wrong And make amends for it.

Inspire me to put my fears Upon a hidden shelf,

And in the future try not to Feel sorry for myself.

Give me the restful sleep I need Before another dawn,

And bless me in the morning with THE COURAGE TO GO ON

Prayer for Perseverance in Faith

Father, keep us from vain strife of words. Grant to us constant profession

of the Truth! Preserve us in a true and undefiled Faith so that we may hold

fast to that which we professed when we were baptized in the Name of the

Father, Son and Holy Spirit - that we may have Thee for our Father, that we

may abide in Thy Son and in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus

Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Saint Hilary of Poitiers, Bishop and Doctor

To Mary: Spouse Of The Spirit

Daughter of the most High,

mother of God

faithful spouse of the Holy Spirit --

yet also

Mary of Nazareth,

Joseph's wife,

my mother --

hear my prayer for grace, O full of grace.

Pray your spouse the Holy Spirit

to come upon me --

to shelter me from all ill,

to strengthen me to do what is right,

to teach me all truth.

Pray the Spirit come to me,

and abide with me,

and be within me a fountain

springing up into eternal life.

May the Spirit sustain me in sorrow,

sanctify me in life,

and receive me at the hour of my death.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray these things for me.

Prayer for My Child

I come to You in Jesus name and give (name of

child) to You. I'm convinced that You alone

know what is best for him/her. You alone know

what he/she needs. I release him/her to You

to care for and protect, and I commit myself to

pray for everything concerning him/her that I

can think of or that You put upon my heart.

Teach me how to pray and guide me in what to

pray about. Help me not to impose my own will

when I'm praying for him/her, but rather

enable me to pray that Your will be done in

his/her life.

Thank You that I can partner with You in raising

him/her and that I don't have to rely on the

world's unreliable and ever-changing methods

for child rearing, but that I can have clear

directions from Your Word and wisdom as I pray

to You for answers.

Thank You, Lord, for the precious gift of this

child. Because Your Word says that every good

gift comes from You, I know that You have

given him/her to me to care for and raise. Help

me do that. Show me places where I continue

to hang on to him/her and enable me to release

him/her to Your protection, guidance, and

counsel. Help me not to live in fear of possible

dangers, but in the joy and peace of knowing

that You are in control. I rely on You for

everything, and this day I trust my child to You

and release him/her into Your hands.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Thank you gloriajean. I really needed to read this prayer and post today. I suffer from deep depression. I'm going thru a divorce and because of its severity my ex husband is keeping me from seeing my children. I have 3 but I am only allowed to see my 7 y/o once a week for 1 hour. I have been reading your threads for strength daily for a long time and appreciate knowing I have a place to go and connect and not feel alone. I pray for you and your family and believe in my heart that Loving God is blessing us. Felicia

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Praying for your family gloriajean, and Felicia.

I have been so blessed throughout my life. I've had many good and hard times, just like many others throughout history, but thankfully, God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He will always be here for us now, and in eternity.

He died on a cross to pay the debt He did not owe, for the debt we could not pay. I pray to always remember His love that is so deep, my pea brain can't comprehend it. But, I'll take it and be thankful for it.

Blessings to all here. It is cold, BRRRR! -3 right now. Thay say there will be no warm up here until into Feb.

I am thinking good thought to all here and hope you think good thoughts for me too. The cold has affected my COPD. I have an appointment with the lung Dr this afternoon. I hate going out in the cold. I always pray to Jesus to get me home safe and sound and He always does. What a great God we serve.

Gloria, I'm going to pray for your needs and the needs of the other posters too. God answers prayers. Have a good day and God bless you all.

Please report how Lori's eye surgery goes. I am contemplating the same surgery as I am tired of wearing contacts and glasses for backup.

Hi topaz gem.... I had lasik 10 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did! I was tired of wearing contacts and glasses and the lasik restored my eye vision better then 20/20! It was painless and the recovery time was 24 hours. Hope this helps. Felicia
