Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Hello my friends! Friday already? This week has gone by fast!! We are getting nicer weather now, it's 16 above zero now and tomorrow will be quite a bit warmer!! We appreciate this a lot! Still can hardly wait until spring! We are doing some planning etc. for the Anniversary - will look at a place tomorrow. Please would you pray that everything will turn out right? So undecided about the date - when Darla will be able to be here - and if she gets the job at St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN they can move back to Mpls and everything will work out well, but we don't know yet - she wants to get out of Texas. She has an interview in Tampa, Fla. on Feb. 6th. That's even further away! May God put her just where He wants her to be and blossom for Him.

Daily Inspiration, Scripture, Meditation and Prayer

Let life's lessons grow into wisdom so that you may be the light for someone

else's darkness. Lord, help me put to good use that which today brings so

that I am better prepared for tomorrow.

Scripture for the Day

"He said to them, 'Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest

a while.'" — Mark 6:31

Meditation for the Day

I can sometimes go aside into a quiet place of retreat with God. In that

place, I can find restoration and healing and power. I can plan quiet times

now and then, times when I can commune with God and arise rested and

refreshed to carry on the work which God has given me to do. I know that God

will never give me a load greater than I can bear. It is in serenity and

peace that all true success lies.

Prayer for the Day

I pray that I may strengthen my inner life. I pray that my soul may be

restored in quietness and peace.

Prayer for Peace

Send Thy peace, O Lord,

which is perfect and everlasting,

that our souls may radiate peace.

Send Thy peace, O Lord,

that we may think, act, and speak harmoniously.

Send Thy peace, O Lord,

that we may be contented and

thankful for Thy bountiful gifts.

Send Thy peace, O Lord,

that amidst our worldly strife

we may enjoy Thy bliss.

Send Thy peace, O Lord,

that we may endure all, tolerate all

in the thought of Thy grace and mercy.

Send Thy peace, O Lord,

that our lives may become a divine vision,

and in Thy light all darkness may vanish.

Send Thy peace, O Lord,

our Father and Mother,

that we, Thy children on earth,

may all unite in one brotherhood.

Amen

Simple Quotes

Gone to Fathers house to prepare your place, will be back soon to pick you

up.

I want the voice of the Lord to be the 1st voice I hear in the morning & his

is the last voice I want to hear at night.

My entire theology can be condensed into four words: "Jesus died for me"--

C.H. Spurgeon

The road to heaven is narrow- but wide enough for Jesus to walk with you.

You will not stumble while on your knees.

A Bible that is falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn't.

The one who walks with the Lord may be lonely on occasion but never alone.

The most powerful weapon in earth is the human soul on fire for God.

God is never in a hurry, but he is never late. -- Dr. John McCormick

The Lord doesn't take you into deep water to drown us but to develop us.

A Well read Bible is the sign of a well fed soul.

You can't start a fire without a spark...

Burned Biscuits

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now

and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast

after a long, hard day at work.

On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and

extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if

anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my

mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him

that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that

biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom

apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he

said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he

really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your

Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a

little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"

Life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best

at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like

everyone else. But what I've learned over the years is that learning to

accept each others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others

differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy,

growing, and lasting relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good,

the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God.

Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a

relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the

base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or

friendship!

"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in

your own."

God Bless You..... Now, and Always....

So Please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burnt one will do just

fine.!.!.!.! And PLEASE pass this along to someone who has enriched your

life... I just did!

THE CROSS IN MY POCKET

Author Unknown

I carry a cross in my pocket,

A simple reminder to me

That I am a Christian,

No matter where I may be.

This little cross isn't magic,

Nor is it a good luck charm.

It isn't meant to protect me

From every physical harm.

It's not for identification

For all the world to see.

It's simply an understanding

Between my Savior and me.

It reminds me too, to be thankful

For my blessings every day,

And to strive to serve Him better

In all that I do or say.

When I put my hand in my pocket

To bring out a coin or a key,

The cross is there to remind me

Of the price He paid for me.

It's also a daily reminder

Of the peace and comfort I share

With all who know my Master

And give themselves to His care.

So, I carry a cross in my pocket

Reminding none but me

That Jesus Christ is Lord of my life,

If only I'll let Him be.

Hi Harlene! Thanks for your continued prayers! May God's Will be done!! Praying about maybe not having the party - everything is so expensive. It would be okay with us.
