Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Peace of the Lord be with you all! Hope you all are having a good day today - we have it cold and rainy, but no frost just yet. Today my blessings - my husband is back home, and he picked some watermelon from the garden and it's delicious!! I made a potato dish with left over chicken for supper, which was my own creation and it turned out good! Not much to say tonight so I'll leave you with these inspirations:

When children speak, listen. They freely share the joys of life that we
are often too preoccupied to remember. Lord, help me bring back those
qualities that I had as a child that would allow me to be more lighthearted,
more playful and more determined to live happy.

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:8

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

The grace of God can cure disharmony and disorder in human
relationships. We can directly put our affairs, with their confusion
and their difficulties into God's hands. God can begin to effect a
cure of
all the disharmony and disorder. We can believe that God will cause
us no more pain in the doing of it than a physician, who plans and
knows that he can effect a cure, would cause his patient. We can have
faith that God will do all that is necessary as painlessly as
possible. We can become willing to submit to God's treatment, even if
we cannot now see the meaning purpose of it.

I pray that I may willingly submit to whatever spiritual discipline is
necessary. I pray that I may accept whatever it takes to live a
better life.

Twelve Biblical Reasons For Wanting To Spend One Hour With Jesus
In The Blessed Sacrament

1. He is really there!
"I myself Am the Living Bread come down from Heaven." (Jn 6:35)

2. Day and night Jesus dwells in the Blessed Sacrament because of his
Infinite love for you!
"Behold I will be with you always even to the end of the world," because "I
have loved you with an everlasting love, and constant is My affection for
you." (Mt 28:20; Jer 31:3)

3. The specific way that Jesus asks you to love Him in return is to spend
one quiet hour with Him in the Blessed Sacrament.
"Where your treasure is, there is your heart...." "Could you not watch one
hour with Me?" (Mt 6:21; 26:40)

4. When you look upon the Sacred Host, you look upon Jesus, the Son of God.
"Indeed, this is the will of My Father, that everyone who looks upon the Son
and believes in Him shall have eternal life. Him I will raise up on the last
day." (Jn 6:40)

5. Each moment that you spend in His Eucharistic Presence will increase His
Divine Life within you and deepen your personal relationship and friendship
with Him.
"I have come that you may have life, and have it more abundantly." "I am the
Vine and you are the branches. Whoever remains in Me and I in Him shall bear
much fruit because without Me, you can do nothing." (Jn 15:5)

6. Each hour you spend with Jesus will deepen His Divine Peace in your
heart.
"Come to Me all of you who are weary and find life burdensome and I will
refresh you..." "Cast all of you anxieties upon the One who cares for
you..." "My Peace is My Gift to you." (Mt 11:28; 5:7; Jn 14:17)

7. Jesus will give you all the Graces you need to be happy!
"The Lamb on the Throne will shepherd them. He will lead them to the springs
of life-giving water." (Rev 7:17)

8. Jesus is infinitely deserving of our unceasing thanksgiving and adoration
for all He has done for our salvation.
"Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive honor, glory and praise."
(Rev. 5:12)

9. For Peace in our country!
"When My people humble themselves and seek My Presence... I will revive
their land." (2Chr 7:14)

10. Each hour you spend with Jesus on earth will leave your soul
everlastingly more beautiful and glorious in heaven!
"They who humble themselves shall be exalted...." "All of us, gazing on the
Lord’s glory with unveiled faces, are being transformed from glory to glory
into His very image." (Lk 18:14; 2Cor 3:18)

11. Jesus will bless you, your family and the whole world for this hour of
faith you spend with Him in the Blessed Sacrament.
"Blessed are they who do not see and yet believe..." "Faith can move
mountains..." " What is needed is trust... " "Behold I come to make all
things new." (Jn 20:29; Mk 11:23; Mk 5:36; Rev 21:5)

12. Each moment you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament brings joy,
pleasure, and delight to His Sacred Heart!
"My joy, My pleasure, My delight is to be with you." (Prov 8:31)

MAN'S DESIRES
Author Unknown

A young man is getting ready to graduate from college. For many months
he had admired a beautiful sports car is a dealer's showroom, and
knowing that his father could well afford it, he told him that was all
he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young awaited signs that his father
had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his
father called him into his private study. His father told him how
proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved
him. He handed his son a beautifully wrapped box. Curious and somewhat
disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-
bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angry, he rose
his voice to his father and said "with all your money, you
give me a Bible? And stormed out of the house."

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business.
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized that his
father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had
not seen him since that graduation day.

Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him
his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his
son. He needed to come home right away and take care of things. When he
arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his
heart.

He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the
still gift-wrapped Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With
tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father
carefully underlined a verse, Matthew 7:11, "And if ye, being evil,
know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your
Heavenly Father who is in Heaven, give to those who ask him?" As he
read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had
a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car
he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the
words PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessings because we can't see past
our own desires?

THE MOUNTAIN CLIMBER
Author Unknown

They tell the story of a mountain climber, who desperate to conquer
the Aconcagua, initiated his climb after years of preparation. But he
wanted the glory to himself, therefore, he went up alone. He started
climbing and it was becoming later, and later. He did not prepare for
camping but
decided to keep on going. Soon it got dark...

Night fell with heaviness at a very high altitude. Visibility was
zero. Everything was black. There was no moon, and the stars were
covered by clouds. As he was climbing a ridge at about 100 meters from
the top, he slipped and fell. Falling rapidly he could only see
blotches of darkness
that passed. He felt a terrible sensation of being sucked in by
gravity.

He kept falling....and in those anguishing moments good and bad
memories passed through his mind. He thought certainly he would die.
But then he felt a jolt that almost tore him in half. Yes!! Like any
good mountain climber he had staked himself with a long rope tied to
his waist.

In those moments of stillness, suspended in the air he had no other
choice but to shout, "HELP ME GOD", "HELP ME!"

All of a sudden he heard a deep voice from heaven..."What do you want
me to do?"

"SAVE ME"

"Do you REALLY think that I can save you?"

"OF COURSE, MY GOD"

"Then cut the rope that is holding you up."

There was another moment of silence and stillness. The man just held
tighter to the rope.

The rescue team says that the next day they found, a frozen mountain
climber hanging strongly to a rope... TWO FEET OFF THE GROUND.

How about you? How trusting are you in that rope? Why don't you let it
go? I tell you, God has great and marvelous thing for you.

CUT THE ROPE AND SIMPLY TRUST IN HIM...
