When your burden seems heavier than usual, know that your blessings
are more than usual. Lord, I call on you for the strength, the wisdom
and the confidence that I will need today.
Scripture for the day:
"When they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried
out; for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to
them and said, 'Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.'" ~Mark 6:49-50
Meditation for the day:
I can take the most crowded day without fear. I believe that God is with me
and controlling all. I can let confidence be the motif running through all
the crowded day. I need not be worried, because I know that God is my
helper. Underneath are the everlasting arms of God. I can rest in them,
even though the day be full of things crowding in upon me.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may be calm and let nothing upset me. I pray that I may not
let material things control me and choke out spiritual things.
Hello my friends! Today I thought I'd finish my list with Gmail - found out Gmail won't work for my list- can't use it - wasted a lot of time on it, so I'll be using Hotmail. Charter and Hotmail are related being charter has Windows Live Mail. They both have my whole list - I like charter better, but it's a shame some people don't receive my mails through it. Anyway, I offer it up to the Lord - Who went through a whole lot more than my frustrations! On a positive note, found out that we are getting a better refund than expected from income tax and my dear husband is planning a trip to Texas for his birthday in March - me too. We're thinking my sister, Deil, can take care of Sammy, if that works out for her. We're still talking about it. He's already experiencing no call backs when he calls about Lighthouse and the secretary says the priest will call back, so far it's just one, please pray. Lori has been sick the last 3 days, went to the doctor today to find out she doesn't have the flu - it's a virus and it has to run its course. I made her some chicken noodle soup which she loved! Glad she doesn't live so far away. Praying for you all - thanks for your prayers for us.
I Own The Fence
There was a large group of people. On one side of the group stood a man, Jesus. On the other side of the group stood Satan.
Separating them, running through the group, was a fence. The scene set, both Jesus and Satan began calling to the people in the group and, one by one - each having made up his or her own mind - each went to either Jesus or Satan.
This kept going. Soon enough, Jesus had gathered around him a group of people from the larger crowd, as did Satan.
But one man joined neither group. He climbed the fence that was there and sat on it.
Then Jesus and His people left and disappeared. So too did Satan and his people. And the man on the fence sat alone.
As this man sat, Satan came back, looking for something which he appeared to have lost. The man said, "Have you lost something?"
Satan looked straight at him and replied, "No, there you are. Come with me."
"But", said the man, "I sat on the fence. I chose neither you nor Him."
"That's okay," said Satan. "I own the fence."

If
If a soul can be touched, by what I have to give,
Then let me give unconditionally.
If a heart can be healed by the feeble words I pray,
Then let me pray unceasingly.
If my walk through the fire keeps someone from getting burned,
Then let me walk through the flames without faltering.
If the love that I share can reflect your love in me,
Then let me shine, radiantly.

Life's Not Fair But Good
I have four daughters, one son, and twelve grandchildren. When we
have get-togethers, there are twenty-four of us around the table---
all ages. A wonderful family. But our family has had some tough times.
My wife had cancer and had a breast removed. The toughest time was
when I was in Korea. I was ministering and I got a telephone call.
The call was from an American and the caller said, ' Dr. Schuller,
your daughter Carol has been in a terrible accident.' Carol was
thirteen at that time.
She went for a ride as a passenger on a motorcycle. Her driver went
faster and faster. All of a sudden he hit an oncoming car, and Carol
was thrown through the air seventy-five feet. Her left leg was hanging
by a tendon. She was bleeding badly and screaming in pain.
The doctor came, but couldn't give her anything for her pain. She
endured the pain as she was rushed to the hospital. The doctor worked
to save her life. She had blood transfusions---seventeen pints of
blood. Now, that is getting pretty close to losing your life. The
doctor called me in Korea and said, ' We are going to have to amputate
her leg.' The word cut through me like a knife--- amputate! My wife
and I caught the first flight home to America.
On the way back, I could tell I was going to cry. I went to the toilet
and closed the door. I started to cry out loud, and I prayed, 'Oh God,
if there is a God, why did this have to happen?' It hurt me so badly to
know when I got home my daughter would have only one leg. Then a thought
went through my mind: play it down, and pray it up. I thought to myself:
it's not so bad, she still has one leg, two arms, her face, two eyes---
she's alive! Look at what she has left, instead of what she has lost.
Today, twelve years later, that beautiful girl is married and has two
children. She is very happy.
Do you know what she would say...? She would say what I said, from the
Bible: "I have a plan for your life, a plan for good, not evil, a plan
to give you a future with hope."
You can choose either to be a skeptic or a believer. Birds were meant
to fly. Flowers were meant to bloom. Humans were designed to believe
in beauty, in love, in truth, in God.

Prayer to Stop Abortion
Father in Heaven, we thank You for the gift of life. Grant that all mothers who give birth will welcome their babies with love, but if the mothers feel they are unable to raise their babies, grant that they may be compassionate toward the life You have given and not destroy it before birth. To those children who have been wantonly deprived of earthly life grant whatever happiness to which they are entitled. And to the mothers who have denied them life in this world grant Your merciful grace of repentance and reconciliation with Our Savior, so that they may obtain eternal life. Grant also the grace of conversion to those who perform abortions and anyone associated with abortion.
Mary, Mother of God, intercede for us. Holy Innocents, pray for us. Amen.

PRAYER TO OUR LORD IN HIS QUALITY OF ALL-POWERFUL PHYSICIAN
O Jesus, my love, in memory of the Sacrifice of Thyself which Thou didst offer on the Cross and which Thou dost still offer in the Blessed Sacrament, I beg of Thee to accept that which I make of my whole being, immolated and sacrificed to Thy adorable designs and wishes. Receive me in the spirit of penance and sacrifice. O Heavenly Physician of my soul, Sovereign Remedy for my evils, I present myself to Thee as a sick person without hope in any other but in the charitable Heart of my Savior, who alone knows my maladies and can cure me of them.
I hope for this favor from Thy bounty, since in this amiable Sacrament Thou hast made Thyself my medicine, my healing balm. My cowardice and my coldness in Thy love have been the cause of all my infirmities; but Thou canst, if Thou wilt, cure me, for I am ready to suffer anything in order to be cured. Cut, burn, amputate; provided that I love Thee and be saved, I will submit to everything. On my part, I am ready to apply the iron and fire of entire mortification and crucifixion of myself to cure the wounds which pride and self-love have caused to my soul.
Apply Thyself then to my poor languishing heart as a balm of love. O my charitable Physician, have pity on my weakness and deliver me from it for the glory of Thy name. Amen.
