Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Choose the direction of your day and then make a point of enjoying your
choices.
Lord, help me to do what I can when I can, but also, help me to know when
doing
nothing is the better choice.

Scripture for the day:

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I
will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am
gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my
yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Matthew 11:28-30

Meditation for the day:

In our times of meditation we can seem to hear: "Come to me, all you that
are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Again
and again we can seem to hear God saying this to us. "Come to me" for the
solution of every problem, for the overcoming of every temptation, for the
calming of every fear, for all our needs ... physical, mental or spiritual,
but mostly "come to me" for the strength we need to live with peace of mind
and the power to be useful and effective.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may go to God today for those things which I need to help me
live. I pray that I may find real peace of mind.

Hello my friends! Today it was hot out for a change - and Linus bought a
bunch of Phlox plants which we planted, and he bought two different kinds of
lettuce and planted them by the peas, and now I've got my herbs, but they
are not planted just yet, they are sets - dill, rosemary, sweet basil,
spearmint and he also bought stevia, I don't know how to use that with the
leaves, we'll see. Maybe it will be interesting. I got so tired out from
the heat and helping him plant I wasn't about to go to Home Depot with him
to get more plants, so I took a nap! I was surprised he had so much energy.
Friends, he so loves garden work and digging in the dirt and creating things
in the yard and enjoying his time off - he so wishes he could be done at
that job which is so taxing on his body, but we have to be patient for the
appliance job to be ready for him - he said selling appliances was the most
fun job he ever had. Please continue praying for him - these long days are
so hard on him - Saturday he works from 10 until 8:30 - then next week
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Saturday - long 8 hours on the feet!
Whew! No chance to sit down - only for lunch - no other breaks, and he's
73. Thanks for your prayers! Carolina, praying for Holly - how horrible
for her! and for Carol and all who needs our prayers. Hello to Lucy, and
Juanita! Carba, my heart goes out to you, my dear friend! If you remember
the Footsteps poem - it's right now that He is carrying you! Yes, keep your
trust in God - He loves you so very much, and the devil hates it, don't let
him bother you - do you have Holy Water - if so, sprinkle your house and you
and the devil flees. That is a fact! I am so glad to read that you are
keeping your trust in and Faith in God - and you have our prayers - and our
support!! Carba, if you'd want to email me - I'd love to hear from you -
lgflint@charter.net
I'll always be here for you! And always in my prayers - I know things are
going to look up! They just have to! We're all here for you!! God bless
you, and may Mary, our Blessed Mother, also intercede for us in your behalf.

The Inner Voice

To be heard, the inner voice of our wisdom requires
a daily shower of stillness and prayer.
In addition, awakened senses are needed,
as is a deep trust of God's love and enduring goodness.
Trusting and reverencing the still, small voice of inner truth
is precious to God, others and us.

Prayer to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, longing to love Jesus as He had never been loved
before, you gave yourself entirely to Him, refusing Him nothing. In union
with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, you accepted His call to satiate His
infinite thirst for love and souls and became a carrier of His love to the
poorest of the poor. With loving trust and total surrender you fulfilled
His will, witnessing to the joy of belonging totally to Him. You became so
intimately united to Jeus your crucified Spouse that He deigned to share
with you the agony of His Heart as He hung upon the Cross.

Blessed Teresa, you promised to continuously bring the light of love to
those on earth; pray for us that we also may long to satiate the burning
thirst of Jesus by loving Him ardently, sharing in His sufferings joyfully,
and serving Him wholeheartedly in our brothers and sisters, especially those
most unloved and unwanted. Amen.

Times Of Our Lives

There will be times in all of our lives

where we're treated very harshly and unfair.

And no matter how hard we look for the justice

we find that it just isn't there.

When we're offended and in pain, our normal response

is to retaliate and somehow repay.

For we want that person to see how it feels

to have the heartache we're feeling that day.

But as natural as it seems to want to get even

it's the opposite of what God says is true.

For He is desiring that His servants be different

and be Christ-like in all that we do.

As incredible as it sounds, He wants us to repay them

with a blessing instead of more pain.

And He will give us the power we need to be kind

and the strength we need to refrain.

We have to trust Him and fully believe Him

Knowing His ways truly are best.

We have to be encouraged knowing He saw the injustice

and let Him give us comfort and rest.

The person who offends us is not declared innocent

by the kindness we place on their head.

But God takes all the heartache retaliation would bring us

and gives us a blessing instead.

Prayer for Guidance

Come, Holy Spirit, fill my heart
And kindle within me the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit, O God.
And renew the face of the earth.

As you have taught all your people by the light of the Holy Spirit,
Grant that by the gift of the same Spirit I may find wisdom
and always rejoice in you peace. Amen
