Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Sometimes the biggest blessing of the day is that which didn't happen.
Lord, thank You for my ordinary day, a day in which my loved ones
have remained safe and healthy.

Scripture for the day:

"Jesus straightened up and said to the woman caught in adultery, 'Woman,
where are they? Has no one condemned you?' She said, 'No one, sir.' And
Jesus said, 'Neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and from now on do not
sin again.'" ~John 8:10-11

Meditation for the day:

I can start a new life each day. I can put away the old mistakes and start
anew each day. God always offers me a fresh start. I need not be burdened
or anxious. If God's forgiveness were only for the righteous and those who
had not sinned, where would be its need? I believe that God forgives us all
our sins. We can honestly try to live today the way God wants us to live.
God forgives us much and we can be very grateful.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that my life may not be spoiled by worry and fear and selfishness. I
pray that I may have a glad, thankful and humble heart.

Hello my friends! Just an ordinary day here today except for the last two
hours my cleaning lady had here - my Christmas gift from Lori. I had her
thoroughly clean the bathrooms again, on her hands and knees because that's
what she does, and she wiped the walls all down with my Don Aslett
micro-fiber mop, dry. Amazing the dust that are just on the walls! My
house is all clean now - and easy to maintain for us. She said I can call
her back when I need help again, but we are doing a good job ourselves now.
She's a nice lady, and very busy for her age of 69, doing house cleaning for
so many years, over 35 at least. Linus went fishing to day with his
brother - got no fish but Ron had pickled some Northerns and he came home
with a quart jar of them, I tasted them and I'm not much of a fish lover,
but they were good!! The Northerns are fileted so well, there are no bones
in sight! Anyone like pickled fish besides herring?
Supper tonight was great - chicken on the grill - barbecued - potatoes on
the grill - and a great salad, and nice enough to eat out in the patio!
Wow! First time this year and it's still Feb. Next week is Lori's birthday!
We'll go shopping for more dishes for her - she loves Fiestaware - the
square plates. Well that's enough for today - waiting to hear about your
positive thoughts and days.

Greeting Mary
Hail Mary, hello, how are you?
I greet you with love,
And I thank you for being available.
Deeply, I breathe your roses,
The twelve fresh roses you place in my spirit
Every morning when I say hello to you.

Full of grace are you,
Grace spilling over Heaven's boundaries
Into my world, living water, bread and wine,
The unmerited favor of God
That you come carrying to me,
Your arms always full of gifts.

The Lord is with thee,
Jesus Christ the Messiah is with you,
And you teach me how to recognize
That the Lord is with me.

Blessed art thou amoung women,
Glowing with love for Jesus,
Pure blessedness never tainted
But alive with holy beauty.

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus,
The most blessed of humanity,
Delivered through you, Virgin Mary.
Jesus, the most cursed of humanity,
Who became a curse for me
So that I might be blessed
With his resurrection life.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Teach me to value motherhood,
Help me pray for mothers and fathers
To love and support each other.
Show me how God loves you.

Pray for us sinners now
And at the hour of our death.
Pray that I can live each moment
Consecrated to love, to Christ,
That I recognize each now
As the moment of salvation
So that I die prepared for eternal life.
Pray that I can crucify my passions,
Those passions that make me a sinner,
And that I can die to sin on the cross with Jesus
As you look on weeping and praying
But joyous, knowing that resurrection follows.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Gifts
~~~~~
Not more of light I ask, O God,
But eyes to see what is;
Not sweeter songs,
But ears to hear these melodies;
Not more of strength,
But how to use the power that I possess;
Not more of love,
But skill to turn a frown into a caress;
Not more of joy,
But how to feel its kindly presence near;
To give to others all I have,
Of courage and of cheer.
No other gifts, dear God, I ask,
But only sense to see;
How best to use these precious gifts;
Thou hast bestowed on me.
Risking
To laugh is to risk appearing the fool
To reach out to another is to risk involvement
To place your ideas, your dreams before the crowd is to risk
their loss
To live is to risk dying
To try is to risk failure
But the risk must be taken, because the greater hazard in life is to
risk nothing
The person who risks nothing, does nothing and is nothing
He may avoid suffering, but he simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow,
live
Chained by his certitudes, he is a slave
Only a person who risks is free
Take a risk
"If you don't take great risks for God, you will never do anything
great for Him" (St. Louis-Marie de Montfort)
Lord,
Some days as I wake up I remember You
and praise and surrender my day to You.
Then, whatever may happen,
my whole day flows in serenity and inner peace and joy.
Some other days I forget You all day long.
Then, by the end of that day I feel so lonely,
miserable and angry with the world and myself.
Lord, if I remember or forget You, I know that You never forget me.
I live for Your mercy and Your love and hope that I will be as close to You,
as I know Your love wants me to be.
Amen
God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsakeyou.”
Promises
Morning rush hour traffic was bumper-to-bumper on the interstate. My
friend gazed out the window at a dismal, gray day. She was despondent.
She'd been sharing with me how it seemed her life was falling apart
around her, even as she tried to carry on and muddle through it.
Suddenly right in front of us a glorious sight broke into the gloom.
Stretching all the way across the horizon was a double rainbow. What a
sight! It was as though the finger of God was painting a message in
neon, a proclamation of the incomparable promise: the gift of God's
presence with us.
Rainbows speak of a promise God gave a long time ago. After the flood
that destroyed nearly all life (chapters 6-9 in the book of Genesis),
God made a covenant, with Noah and his descendants, for all
generations to come. The Lord said, “Never again will there be a
flood to destroy the earth. This is the sign of the covenant....I have
set my rainbow in the clouds....whenever it appears...I will remember
the everlasting covenant I have established between me and all life on
the earth.” Each time we see one (or two!) we can be reminded of God’s
promises and His faithfulness to us.
That is good news.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for the outward signs You give us to help
recall that You are a covenant-making God, and that You are our
faithful heavenly Father, who is always, always with us. In Jesus’
name, amen.
God bless your Friday in every way - enjoy your weekend! Praying for all of
your needs daily - and thanking you for your prayers for us.
