We don't choose how or when we will die, but we do decide how we will live.
Lord, forgive my frequent drifting and help me to see clearly the best path
for me.
Scripture for the day:
"The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of a teacher, that I may know how to
sustain the weary with a word. Morning by morning he wakens-- wakens my ear
to listen as those who are taught." ~Isaiah 50:4
Meditation for the day:
My five senses are my means of communication with the material world.
They are the links between my physical life and the material manifestations
around me. But I can sever all connections with the material world when I
wish to hold communion with God. I can hush my mind and bid all my senses
be still, before I can become attuned to communicate with the God who
created me and loves me so much.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may get my spirit in tune with the Spirit of God. I pray that
through faith and communion with God I may receive all the strength I need.
Hello my friends! Tonight we picked up Darla from the airport. She came
alone because airline tickets are sky high - $600 for one ticket! So Lori
drove and we came along, and we all went out to eat - got back not too long
ago. Had some phone messages from my sisters so called them first. My
blessings today was seeing our daughter again - glad she flew instead of the
long drive. It's been a busy day - and tomorrow will be a hard day - I know
I can count on your prayers for Erma and her girls - and now I'd better get
to bed.
Blessings of the day
I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He
didn't trust me so much.
There is hunger for ordinary bread, and there is hunger for love, for
kindness, for thoughtfulness; and this is the great poverty that makes
people suffer so much. I believe in person to person. Every person is Christ
for me, and since there is only one Jesus, that person is the one person in
the world at that moment.
There is but one love of Jesus, as there is but one person in the poor --
Jesus. We take vows of chastity to love Christ with undivided love; to be
able to love him with undivided love we take a vow of poverty which frees us
from all material possessions, and with that freedom we can love him with
undivided love, and from this vow of undivided love we surrender ourselves
totally to him in the person who takes his place.
Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls. A joyful heart is the
inevitable result of a heart burning with love. Let no one ever come to you
without leaving better and happier. Be the living _expression of God's
kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your
smile.
When Christ said: ''I was hungry and you fed me,'' he didn't mean only the
hunger for bread and for food; he also meant the hunger to be loved. Jesus
himself experienced this loneliness. He came amongst his own and his own
received him not, and it hurt him then and it has kept on hurting him. The
same hunger, the same loneliness, the same having no one to be accepted by
and to be loved and wanted by. Every human being in that case resembles
Christ in his loneliness; and that is the hardest part, that's real hunger.
Do not think that love in order to be genuine has to be extraordinary. What
we need is to love without getting tired. Be faithful in small things
because it is in them that your strength lies.

Such a blessing
Such a blessing, such as this,
That together we are more
when I turn on my computer
It seems like you're at my door !
Welcome my cyber sisters
Welcome brothers "in the Lord"
Today is a new day
Great blessings and great joy !
Father bless my "special" friends
Ones with no faces for me to see
But with the key pads ,
we can feel the love
And pray and intercede !
Keep us forever, remembering
That we are truly blessed
I pray for each new cyber-friend
And for those still to come!
Thank you, Father
Love, me
TEN WAYS TO HAVE A GREAT DAY
1. TODAY I WILL NOT STRIKE BACK:
If someone is rude,
if someone is impatient,
if someone is unkind....
I will not respond in a like manner.
2. TODAY I WILL ASK GOD TO BLESS MY "ENEMY":
If I come across someone who treats me harshly or unfairly,
I will quietly ask GOD to bless that individual.
I understand the "enemy" could be a family member,
neighbor, coworker or stranger.
3. TODAY I WILL BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT I SAY:
I will carefully choose and guard my words being certain that I do not
spread gossip.
4. TODAY I WILL GO THE EXTRA MILE:
I will find ways to help share the burden of another person.
5. TODAY I WILL FORGIVE:
I will forgive any hurts or injuries that come my way.
6. TODAY I WILL DO SOMETHING NICE FOR SOMEONE, BUT I WILL DO IT SECRETLY:
I will reach out anonymously and bless the life of another.
7. TODAY I WILL TREAT OTHERS THE WAY I WISH TO BE TREATED:
I will practice the golden rule-do unto others as I would have them do
unto you-with everyone I encounter.
8. TODAY I WILL RAISE THE SPIRITS OF SOMEONE WHO IS DISCOURAGED:
My smile, my words,my expression of support, can make the difference to
someone who is wrestling with life.
9. TODAY I WILL NURTURE MY BODY:
I will eat less;
I will eat only healthy foods.
I will thank GOD for my body.
10. TODAY I WILL GROW SPIRITUALLY:
I will spend a little more time in prayer today:
I will begin reading something spiritual or inspirational today;
I will find a quiet place (at some point during this day)
and listen to GOD's voice!!! "But since we belong to the day,
let us be self controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate,
and hope of salvation as a helmet."
RECIPE FOR KINDNESS
Author Unknown
Fold two hands together
And express a dash of sorrow
Marinate it overnight
And work on it tomorrow.
Chop one grudge in tiny pieces
Add several cups of love
Dredge with a large sized smile
Mix with the ingredients above.
Dissolve the hate within you,
By doing a good deed
Cut in and help your friend
If he should be in need.
Stir in laughter, love an kindness
From the heart it has to come,
Toss with genuine forgiveness
And give your neighbor some.
The amount of people served
Will depend on you,
It can serve the whole wide world,
If you really want it to.
A nice story
There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given
a slingshot to play with in the woods. He practiced in the woods, but he
could never hit the target.
Getting a little discouraged, he headed back to dinner. As he was walking
back he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot
fly, hit the duck square in the head, and killed it. He was shocked and
grieved. In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile, only to see his
sister watching. Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.
After lunch the next day Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the dishes." But
Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen." Then
she whispered to him, "Remember the duck?" So Johnny did the dishes.
Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and
Grandma said, "I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper."
Sally just smiled and said, "Well that's all right because Johnny told me he
wanted to help. She whispered again, "Remember the duck?" So Sally went
fishing and Johnny stayed to help.
After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's he finally
couldn't stand it any longer. He came to Grandma and confessed the he had
killed the duck.
Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug, and said, "Sweetheart, I know. You see,
I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing. But because I love
you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a
slave of you."
Thought for the day and everyday there after: Whatever is in your past,
whatever you have done and the devil keeps throwing it up in your face
(lying, debt, fear, hatred, anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, etc.) whatever
it is, you need to know that Jesus Christ was standing at the window and He
saw the whole thing, He has seen your whole life. He wants you to know that
He loves you and that you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you
will let the devil make a slave of you.
The great thing about God is that when you ask for forgiveness, He not only
forgives you, but He forgets.
Dear Lord Jesus,
May we stand before you in our brokenness,
our weakness and our fragile humanity.
We are sorrowful for all the times we've disappointed you.
We pray that the next time we are tempted to gossip, to accuse, to judge or
to despise another,
we may instead be strengthened with the Grace of the Holy Spirit to speak
words of godliness
and to act with Charity.
May we make Love the motive for every decision we choose in our lives.
Amen

2 Corinthians 13:4 - For even though it was in weakness that he was put to
death on the cross, it is by God's power that he lives. In union with him
we also are weak; but in our relations with you we shall share God's power
in his life.

PERSONAL PRAYER
Lord Jesus, you are passionately in love with the human race. You want us
to be aware of the love your Father has for us. Help us to come to a better
understanding of this your immense love.
Help the Church and the human community to appreciate the richness of
talents with which you have enriched them. Your presence in the Eucharist is
the sign and the pledge of this richness. We thank you for your continued
presence with us in word and sacrament.
Increase our devotion to your mother Mary. Once in Cana she told those
asking your help to do whatever you would indicate.May she continue to lead
us to a greater love of you. Amen.
May you all have a wonderful blessed Friday - and enjoy the start of the
weekend. God bless you all!
