Do not leave for another day a task which God would have you do today.
Lord, give me the determination to not procrastinate and the joy to do my
work well.
Scripture for the day:
"The greatest among you will be your servant. All who exalt themselves will
be humbled, and all who humble themselves will be exalted." ~Matthew
23:11-12
Meditation for the day:
We can remember that the first quality of greatness is service. In a way,
God is the greatest servant of all, because God is always waiting for us to
ask for help in all the good work we do. God's strength is always available
to us, but we can ask it of God through our own free will. It is a free
gift, but we can sincerely seek it. A life of service is the finest life we
can live. We are here on earth to serve others. That is our mission, and a
sign of how well we do God's work here on earth!
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may cooperate with God in all good things. I pray that I may
serve God and others and so lead a useful and happy life.
Greetings my friends! It was a somewhat snowy day today - but not too much
came down. Linus and his brothers spent the whole day visiting his cousins,
one of them being the mother of the one who shot himself. She needed them
and they were there for her. I spent a good part of the day cleaning and
organizing the office - sometimes the desk can get so cluttered! I had a
stir fry made with rice when he got home today - he loved it! Tomorrow
we'll make some venison steak we got from our friends - it'll go in the slow
cooker with saurkraut, that what they say to do, along with onions etc.
Should be interesting.

"The Church of God needs saints today. This imposes a great responsibility
on us. We must become holy, not because we want to feel holy, but because
Christ must be able to live His life fully in us."
Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta
For Reflection:
How fully is Christ able to live His life in me?
God's Boxes
I have in my hands two boxes,Which God gave me to hold. He said, "Put all
your sorrows in the black box,And all your joys in the gold."
I heeded His words, and in the two boxes, Both my joys and sorrows I stored,
But though the gold became heavier each day, The black was as light as
before. With curiosity,
I opened the black,I wanted to find out why,And I saw, in the base of the
box, a hole,Which my sorrows had fallen out by.
I showed the hole to God, and mused, "I wonder where my sorrows could be!"
He smiled a gentle smile and said,
"My child, they're all here with me..I asked God, why He gave me the boxes,
Why the gold and the black with the hole? "My child, the gold is for you to
count your blessings,The black is for you to let go."
We should consider all of our friends a blessing.

Heat the oven to 350 F (180 C). Lightly coat 4 mini loaf pans with baking

PART 1:
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the first ingredient until
light and creamy. Add the second ingredient and beat until fluffy, about 2
minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl after the first minute.
One at a time, add the third ingredient, beating well after each addition.
Mix in the fourth and fifth ingredients. Set aside.
PART 2:
In a large mesh strainer or flour sifter, combine the ingredients listed in
Part 2. Sift the ingredients together onto a sheet of parchment paper or
into a bowl. Reserve 1/4 cup (60 ml) of the mixture.
With the mixer on low, add half of the remaining Part 2 mixture to Part 1.
Mix only until thoroughly blended, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.
Add the remaining Part 2 mixture and mix until blended to create the batter.
PART 3:
In a medium bowl, combine the Part 3 ingredients. Add the reserved Part 2
mixture and toss to lightly coat. Add this mixture to the batter and use a
silicone spatula to gently fold it in.
Transfer the batter to the prepared cake pans, filling them three - quarters
full.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted at the center comes
out clean. Cool on a rack for 15 minutes, then remove the cakes from the
pans and cool completely before serving. If desired, dust with powdered
sugar.
Too Often
Too often we don't realize
what we have until it is gone
Too often we wait too late to say
"I'm sorry - I was wrong."
Sometimes it seems we hurt the ones
we hold dearest to our hearts
And we allow foolish things
to tear our lives apart.
Far too many times we let
unimportant things into our minds
And then it's usually too late
to see what made us blind.
So be sure that you let people know
how much they mean to you.
Take that time to say the words
before your time is through.
Be sure that you appreciate
everything you've got
And be thankful for the little things
in Life that mean a lot.
Growing old surrounded by those we love
is a privilege denied to many
Never leave behind regrets.
