Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Hello my friends! Hope your day is going very well. Just the ordinary here for me, but ordinaries are always good and positive. My blessings today are emails, it's so nice to keep in touch with friends. Wasn't feeling the best this morning, so took a nap and I feel much better now. Looking forward to tomorrow night - Sister Pat and Sister Phyllis are coming over for dinner - they haven't been here for a long time, as Phyllis fell and broke her leg, now that's all healed up so they can come and maybe play some cards after we eat. We know these Benedictine nuns for about 25 years or more. Sister Phyllis is 80, or a little more, retired from teaching Biology at the College, Very smart woman! Sister Pat is younger than we are, and she's Dietitian for the Convent. Very busy gal, she is!! We met at a retreat about 25 years ago - and stayed good friends. Prayers for all!

Often times that which we find difficult is that which teaches.
Lord, may I always be able to see the good that comes from
even my trials.

S C R I P T U R E S F O R T H E D A Y

And out of gloom and darkness, the eyes of the blind shall see. The lowly
will ever find joy in the LORD, and the poor rejoice in the Holy One of
Israel. ~Isaiah 29:17-24

Then he touched their eyes and said, "Let it be done for you according to
your faith." And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly,
See that no one knows about this." But they went out and spread word of
him through all that land. ~Matthew 9:27-31

We are called to be people of hope, trusting that the unexpected and even
the impossible are possible with God. We can hope for justice and the
lasting peace that is its result.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may trust that all things are possible with God. I pray
that I may work for the justice that can lead to lasting peace.

Too Often

Too often we don't realize
what we have until it is gone

Too often we wait too late to say
"I'm sorry - I was wrong."

Sometimes it seems we hurt the ones
we hold dearest to our hearts

And we allow foolish things
to tear our lives apart.

Far too many times we let
unimportant things into our minds

And then it's usually too late
to see what made us blind.

So be sure that you let people know
how much they mean to you.

Take that time to say the words
before your time is through.

Be sure that you appreciate
everything you've got

And be thankful for the little things
in Life that mean a lot.

Growing old surrounded by those we love
is a privilege denied to many
Never leave behind regrets.

Prayer to Defeat Satan
O Divine Eternal Father, in union with Thy Divine Son and the Holy Spirit
and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

I beseech Thee to destroy the power thy greatest enemy, the evil spirits.

Cast them into the deepest recesses of H ell and chain them there forever!

Take possession of Thy kingdom which Thou hast created and which is
rightfully Thine.

O Heavenly Father, grant us the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the
Immaculate Heart of Mary.

I repeat this prayer out of pure love for Thee, with every beat of my heart,
and with every breath I take.

Amen.

Prayer for healing

O Jesus, we believe in you, we hope in you, and we love you.
Strengthen our faith, renew our hope and love, and grant our prayers.
Touch with your healing love, O Lord, all who feel the hurt of life's
wounds.

Long ago, when people prayed to you for healing,
you listened to them, blessed them
and answered their prayer.
Heal us now of our sinfulness
and of the hatred that divides us.

Take away our hardness of heart.
Open our eyes which are often blind to the needs of others.
Remove our selfishness and our greed.
Give us self-control at all times,
and fill our hearts with your eternal love.

O Jesus, we ask you now to heal and bless us,
and fill us with your peace. Amen.

Now let Me fill you

I fill you with My Love. I fill you with My forgiveness. I fill you with My
generosity. I fill you with My gifts. I fill you with My strength.

I touch your eyes. See yourself as you really are—as I see you. See Myself
in the people around you. See the needs in the people whom I call you to
serve.

I touch your ears. Hear My voice. Hear My expressions of love and gratitude
for the person you are and the things you do to please Me. Hear the pleas of
the people whom I call you to serve.

I touch your mouth. Speak My words. Hold back all that is unloving, unkind,
unholy. Proclaim the kingdom of God in the way that I call you to serve.

I touch your heart. Your stony heart is replaced by My sacred and pure
heart. I heal the pain from old and new wounds, and I give you the pain that
I feel in My heart, caused by the sins and wounds of others, and through
this I call you to love the sinners unconditionally.

I touch your hands. Reach out and heal others with Me. Give to them My
embrace. Stroke their shoulders to give them My encouragement, and pat their
backs to give them My affirmation.

I touch your feet. Go wherever our Father sends you. I will be with You
always. I walk with you. My Spirit guides you, keeping you on the right
path. Be assured, you will not make lasting mistakes, you will not stray for
long, for I am walking with you. I have everything in My control. Fear
nothing, My wonderful, dear, dear friend. Fear nothing, for My love for you
is all consuming, and always victorious.

I LOVE YOU!

Advent Liturgical Prayer

Come, long-expected Jesus. Excite in me a wonder at the wisdom and power of
Your Father and ours. Receive my prayer as part of my service of the Lord
who enlists me in God's own work for justice.

Come, long-expected Jesus. Excite in me a hunger for peace: peace in the
world, peace in my home, peace in myself.

Come, long-expected Jesus. Excite in me a joy responsive to the Father's
joy. I seek His will so I can serve with gladness, singing and love.

Come, long-expected Jesus. Excite in me the joy and love and peace it is
right to bring to the manger of my Lord. Raise in me, too, sober reverence
for the God who acted there, hearty gratitude for the life begun there, and
spirited resolution to serve the Father and Son.

I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, whose advent I hail. Amen.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

GLORIA thanks for the bread recipe. I hope you and Linus and the two sisters have a great time at dinner. My sciatica decided to act up it is now going down my right leg and the Chiropractor seems to think that the hernia that was repaired in 2008 that is popping out again is causing a lot of my problems. So I have an appointment with the surgeon on the 22nd. Bluegrass, I seem to beat that crossroad in your graphic. Lucy love the graphics especially the last one, I needed that laugh. Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Hey Blue, I will definitely keep you and everyone else company while Gloria is gone. I have been putting up with quite a bit lately between the sciatica and a bad foot and the hernia, but this too shall pass. "Remember if God brings you to it, He will get you through it." I will never lose my faith in Him and I know that He will take care of these things one at a time for me and I will be just fine. I also have a pretty good sense of humor and that helps a lot. So laugh a lot!!!

Danky, you are in my prayers. God bless you.

Counting my blessings, and blessings to all.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Hi Everyone!

I'm late today as I had to pick up a prescription at my doctors out of town, and finish some shopping for the holiday while in the area. I took a break after lunch to watch a few shows I had dvr'd, but can't say I regained much energy afterwards. It's quite gloomy here, with some rain at times. I'm so glad it isn't snow, as you don't have to shovel rain!

Harlene: I"m so sorry about all of the pain you're having to go through right now.I wish I had as good an attitude as yours when I have pain of my own to deal with.

Blue: Beautiful graphics! Hope all is well, and you're enjoying any holiday preparations you're doing.

Gloria: Sounds like you had a nice evening with the sisters. You're lucky to see lots of friends and family regularly! You and Linus make lots of things that I'd never thought to try, like the wine. You're very inspiring.

The weekend's come quickly this week. Mass is the only outing planned, for now anyway. I hope to get some holiday food prepared, and probably will wrap some gifts if I'm not in a cooking mood. Hope you all enjoy your evening, and have a good weekend! pinky
