Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Be a patient person but, most of all, be patient with yourself. Lord, may
I be blessed with a calm spirit and diligence as I do my work today.

Scripture for the day:

"Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus
Christ. Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always
excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord
your labor is not in vain." ~1 Corinthians 15:57-58

Meditation for the day:

Without God, no real victory is ever won. All the military victories
of great conquerors have passed into history. The world might be
better off without military conquerors. The real victories are won in
the spiritual realm. "He that conquers himself is greater than he who
conquers a city." The real victories are victories over sin and
temptation, leading to a victorious and abundant life. Therefore, we
can keep a brave and trusting heart. We can face all our difficulties
in the spirit of conquest. We can remember that where God is, there
is the true victory.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that the forces of evil in my life will flee before God's
presence. I pray that with God I will win the real victory over
myself.

Greetings to all! Hope your day went well. Darla arrived at around noon
today - sore, very sore, but fine. She rested a bit and I gave her some
heat packs for her back. Then we had a nice visit with her, I had made some
vegetarian soup, turned out good, and after she rested, we had that and
later we went to the café and had some hordourves and a drink, ordered pizza
there, and Lori joined us there after work, then to our house and we had a
tree trimming night - it was fun and we have the more beautiful tree ever!
We say that every year! This is a real tree! I hope and pray it works out
well with her things to do etc. that we can get her to Dr. Mike to help her
pain. It's soft tissue from an accident 9 years ago. Thanks for your
prayers for her safe traveling - she's here and safe!! It's so nice having
her home! What a blessing!

Advent Prayer

Lord God, may we, your people, who look forward
to the birthday of Christ experience the joy of salvation
and celebrate that feast with love and thanksgiving.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,
for ever and ever. Amen.

You will make it to a PLACE called SUCCESS!

There is a CURVE called FAILURE,
A LOOP called CONFUSION,
SPEED BUMPS called FRIENDS,
RED LIGHTS called ENEMIES,
CAUTION LIGHTS called FAMILY,
And, you will have FLATS called JOBS.

BUT . . .

If you have a SPARE called DETERMINATION,
An ENGINE called PERSEVERANCE,
INSURANCE called FAITH,
And a DRIVER called JESUS,
You will make it to a PLACE called SUCCESS!

The Straw in the Christmas Crib

When the shepherds of Bethlehem visited the Infant Jesus, one of the younger
boys took along some straw from the crib. "What have you got there in your
hand?" asked one of the shepherds.

"Just some straw from the crib where the baby was sleeping." "Straw?"
laughed the others. "That's just rubbish. Throw it away." The little boy
shook his head and said, "No. I'm keeping it. These pieces of straw remind
me of that baby, and what the angels said about him."

The next day the shepherds asked the boy, "Do you still have those pieces of
straw? You do? Look! Why don't you throw away that worthless stuff?" " No,
it is not worthless," said the little shepherd. "God's baby has slept on
it." "So what?" the others answered. "It's the baby that is important and
not the straw."

"That's where you're all wrong," explained the little shepherd. "This straw
IS worth something. If there were no straw in the crib, what could the poor
baby have slept on? No, this handful of straw tells me something. It tells
me that God makes use of small worthless things. God needs us, little
people, to help him do his work."

Mother Teresa Said...

Let's not live distracted lives.
Let us know ourselves so that we can better understand our brothers and
sisters.
If we want to understand those with whom we live, we need to understand
ourselves first of all.

Good night all - Sweet Dreams! Bout time I get some! See you tomorrow!!
Have a wonderful start of a new weekend! God bless you!
