We are judged by our actions, not by our intentions. Lord, may I show
my love for You through charity and goodness toward others.
Scripture for the day:
"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."
~Matthew 18:20
Meditation for the day:
"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."
When God finds two or three of us in union, who only want God's will to
be done, who want only to serve God, God has a plan that can be revealed
to them. The grace of God can come to people who are together in one
place with one accord. A union like this is miracle-working. God is
able to use such people. Only good can come through such consecrated
people, brought together in unified groups for a single purpose and of a
single mind.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may be part of a unified group. I pray that I may
contribute my share to its consecrated purpose.
Greetings my friends! How was your day? It was colder here today - but not
too bad and no snow in sight yet! Please continue praying for Darla's
health, I'm always asking you for prayers! Linus is checking the airlines
to see if we can get a good rate in Jan. or Feb. to fly out there for a
visit - so far no luck with reasonable prices. They are coming here for
Christmas as usual.
I am grateful for my DH, my daughters, and of course, Sammy, who always
makes us smile! I am very grateful for all of you who read and come here to
post with us. Without you, this thread could not exist.
LAMB OF GOD POEM
Author Unknown
November 10, 2011
Mary had a little Lamb,
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.
He followed her to school each day,
When it wasn't against the rules.
He made the children laugh and play,
To have a Lamb at school.
Then the rules changed one day,
Against the law it became
To bring the Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak His Name.
Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh and play,
You heard them crying tears.
What must we do to stop the crime,
That's in our schools today?
Let the Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray.
NATURE
Look outside right now, better yet, go outside. Daytime or nighttime, it
doesn't matter. Just look around
you. If you live in a concrete jungle as so many of us do, look up at the
sky. Imagine for a moment the
immensity of God's creation, the grandeur of it. And yet, He calls mankind
His most splendid creation....
all the rest was called into being only to benefit His human creation. God
values you above all else that
He created. Look at the sky and consider that.
Our God cares about details. You see it throughout His creation. Every
species is unique, and every
creature unique within its species. Human beings, created in His image and
yet each one of a kind.
Flowers and trees awash with color and refinement, even those growing along
the highway, sown as
it were by the wind. When you wonder if God is interested in the details of
your life, consider the
evidence demonstrated in nature. He cares about everything --- no matter how
inconsequential.
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his
handywork.

The Spirit Is Already within You
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Wis 7:22-8:1 / Lk 17:20-25
In every age there has been an ample chorus of voices proclaiming the
imminent arrival of the end of the world. The volume only gets louder at
the end of a century, to say nothing of a millennium. And people watch with
fascination for signs and wonders and portents.
It has always been so, hence Jesus takes special pains to remind us in the
gospel that we already have what we’re looking for so anxiously: “The reign
of God is already in your midst,” He says. Look no further.
The Holy Spirit already dwells within every one of us, only waiting for us
to open our hearts and our lives to the Spirit’s healing and guidance. Life
could take on a very different shape now, if we could bring ourselves to
doing that with confidence and trust. That is the challenge that confronts
us repeatedly across the whole span of our lives: To trust in the Holy
Spirit’s presence, to open our hearts, and to keep them open. That task will
never be complete in this life, but for some it has not yet begun.
May we not find ourselves in that sorry company.
My New Coat, God
I have a new coat, it was designed by God and given to me by Jesus Christ.
All I had to do to receive this coat was to believe in God's only Son.
I find it fits me perfectly unless I allow myself to become puffed up with
foolish pride, then it's too tight. If I walk with my head high, trying to
be above those about, then it is too short. But if I walk humbly as I should
before God, it fits me just right.
How is the coat made?
The shoulders are wide and roomy so that I can help my fellow man carry his
burdens.
The collar is made of God's mercy, yes, the mercy of God's promises. First
that I may become his child and second, that I will one day dwell with Him
in that home prepared for His saints.
The cuffs are narrow, so that there is no room to tuck away grievance and
hard feelings toward my neighbors.
The pockets are oversized, One is for the love of God; the other is to hold
my love for my fellowman and all humanity.
There are three buttons on my coat, which stands for faith, hope and
charity. I check on them often so that none becomes loose or lost.
The lining is made of God's forgiveness, which I need so often that I want
it next to me at all times.
The belt is made of God's love that encircles me everyday.
The material is thick enough to protect me when the storms of life come my
way, but not too thick that I will not be able to feel the presence of the
Holy Spirit who guides me.
There are many threads in my new coat, but not one thread of doubt that
God's promises are true,
Do you wonder about the color of my coat? Why, it's the color of Jesus' eyes
that must sparkle when a lost soul accepts Him.
I will need my coat all through life. When I travel through the valley of
death and when I view the future, I will always wear my new coat.

Prayer for the Salvation of the World
Father, hear our prayers for the salvation of the world. Grant Mercy to all
souls that turned away from you. Open their hearts and minds with Your
light.
Gather your children from the east and the west, from the north and the
south. Have mercy O God on those who do not know You. Bring them out of
darkness into your light. You are our saving God who leads us in our
salvation. Protect us from evil.
Bless and praise You O Lord, hear our prayers and answer us. You, our
Savior, are the hope of all the ends of the Earth and the distant seas. May
Your way be known upon Earth; among all nations Your salvation.
We put the world in Your hands; fill us with Your love. Grant us peace
through Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
Food for Thought:
IT IS ALL IN THE RESUMES

RE: Personnel Evaluations
Thank you for submitting the resumes of the twelve men you have picked
for managerial positions in your new organization. All of them have
now taken our battery of tests, and we have not only run the results
through our computers, but also arranged personal interviews for each
of them with our psychologist and vocation aptitude consultant.
It is the opinion of the staff that most of your nominees are lacking
in background, education and vocational aptitude for the type of
enterprise you are undertaking. They do not have the team concept. We
would recommend that you continue your search for persons of
experience in managerial ability and proven capacity. We have
summarized the findings of our study below:
Simon Peter is emotional, unstable and given to fits of temper.
Andrew has absolutely no quality of leadership.
The two brothers, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, place personal
interests above Company loyalty.
Thomas demonstrates a questioning attitude that would tend to
undermine morale.
We believe it is our duty to tell you that Matthew has been
blacklisted by the Greater Jerusalem Better Business Bureau.
James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus, definitely have radical
leanings. Additionally, they both registered high scores on the manic
depressive scale.
However, one of the candidates shows great potential. He's a man of
ability and resourcefulness; he is a great networker; has a keen
business mind; and has strong contacts in influential circles. He's
highly motivated, very ambitious and adept with financial matters. We
recommend Judas Iscariot as your Controller and Chief Operating
Officer.
All the other profiles are self-explanatory. We wish you the utmost
success in your new venture.
What if Jesus had chosen the twelve based on the modern methods of
leadership selection? Most of them would have never had a chance to
participate. Jesus chooses people not for who they are, but for what
they can become in Him. Aren't you glad that when Jesus looked at you,
He didn't take you for what you were (a sinner); but He took you for
what you could be? Jesus sees the potential in all of us, and has
called us to be disciples. Jesus is still saying, "Follow Me!"
Good night all - Sweet Dreams and God bless your Friday!!
