Daily Positive Thread for Friday

The moment you include God in your thoughts you prepare yourself
for positive results. Lord, I invite You into my heart to free me from
all negativity and worry and to clear my path to success in my undertakings.

Scripture for the day:

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate
your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who
persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven;
for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on
the righteous and on the unrighteous. For if you love those who love
you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the
same? And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are
you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Be
perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." ~Matthew
5:43-48

Meditation for the day:

I can practice love, because lack of love will block the way. I can try
to see good in all people, those I like and those who fret me and go
against the grain. They are all children of God. I can try to give
love; otherwise, how can I dwell in God's spirit from which nothing
unloving can come? I can try to get along with all people, because the
more love I give away, the more I will have.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may do all I can to love others, in spite of their many
faults. I pray that as I love, so will I be loved.

Greetings my friends! How was your day? We had a gorgeous day here in MN
today! We could eat in the patio again and sit in the swing watching the
birds. Just like summer!! I know it won't last but we enjoy it when we can.
That was a big blessing for today! Today we had a new garage door put in -
our old one had trouble working - and it wasn't insulated, and was in poor
shape, this new one is insulated well and should help a great deal in our
heating bills - we heat the garage to about 40 degrees all winter. Our
potatoes are in there, so they won't freeze. Got a nice email from Darla -
she doesn't write much because she's so busy so when I do - it's a blessing!
Emails are such a blessing. Remember how it was years ago when we only had
letters to write and put a stamp on them and they'd get there days later? I
like the fastness of email.

Being Transparent

It is hard to be transparent. No one likes to show a side that would
indicate any irresponsibility or failure. No one wants others to know about
their embarrassments, or their inconsistencies. Being transparent can prove
that we are not who we seem to be, or bear witness to the fact that we
aren't as good at something as we thought we were.

Sometimes being transparent is just letting others see your vulnerable self.
It is letting others see you cry, moan, weep or gnash your teeth. It is
letting others in on your heartbreak, your hurt, and your sensitive areas.
It is coming off the pedestal and standing down in the midst of the crowd.

It is being Jesus, and being hung to die on a cross for all the world to
see.

My Wish For You

May you find serenity and tranquility
in a world you may not always understand.

May the pain you have known
and the conflict you have experienced
give you the strength to walk through life
facing each new situation with courage and optimism.

Always know that there are those
whose love and understanding will always be there,
even when you feel most alone.

May a kind word,
a reassuring touch,
and a warm smile
be yours every day of your life,
and may you give these gifts
as well as receive them.

May the teachings of those you admire
become part of you,
so that you may call upon them.

Remember, those whose lives you have touched
and who have touched yours
are always a part of you,
even if the encounters were less than you would have wished.
It is the content of the encounter
that is more important than its form.

May you not become too concerned with material matters,
but instead place immeasurable value
on the goodness in your heart.
Find time in each day to see beauty and love
in the world around you.

Realize that what you feel you lack in one regard
you may be more than compensated for in another.
What you feel you lack in the present
may become one of your strengths in the future.
May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility.
Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience.

May you find enough inner strength
to determine your own worth by yourself,
and not be dependent
on another's judgment of your accomplishments.

May you always feel loved.

A Visit with Jesus
I will pay a visit to Jesus at least once each day. In my own words I will
tell Jesus that I believe that He is truly present in the tabernacle and
that I adore Him, as He is my God. I will talk to Him about any joy or
trouble I have had since my last visit. I will say a short prayer, for
instance: "Jesus, my God, I adore Thee here truly present in the Sacrament
of Thy love." Amen.

Face To Face With

A woman arrived at heaven's gate and met Jesus face to face. As he reviewed
her life with her, she could see every event just as clearly as if it were
happening right then and there. Looking at a time in her life filled with
sorrow, she asked him a question that had long been on her heart:
"Lord, look at my time of greatest trouble. I prayed and prayed but I heard
no word from you. I would have despaired had it not been for all the people
who helped me: the friends who listened and consoled, who brought me food
and understanding, who cried with me and stood by me, and my family who gave
me a reason to go on living. But why did you abandon me? Why didn't you help
me?"

"My child," Jesus answered,
"Why didn't you recognize me?"

Good night everyone - Sweet Dreams and may your Friday be filled with many
blessings!!

Unceasing Prayer

Dear Father, who answers our prayers,

Help me to be steadfast in my praying to you, even to stay awake that I may
pray!

Fill my life with thanksgiving to you.

O God, I pray for all your servants everywhere that you may open a door for
us to proclaim your Word, to declare the now-public secret - Christ
crucified, glorified, and coming - and to make the message clear, as we
ought to speak.

In the name of Jesus I ask you to fill our lives with your holy life and to
claim all our motives and deeds as your own. Amen.
