Hello my friends! Today's blessings - Erma is stabilized at ICU now - Got this message from my niece, her oldest daughter: "Mom scared us today and took a turn for the worse. She is in cardiac icu but she's there to help support her breathing. I left at 7om and she was sleeping comfortably. I'm Encouraged but she needs prayers because she still has pneumonia. Hopefully she will come thru this quickly." On a positive side, we celebrated Harold's 76th birthday today at a Mexican restaurant with our friends, Ron and Karen and Lorraine, his wife. He has AlZ. and seemed to enjoy the evening. After the meal we went to their house - it was nice. But I had the phone handy for updates on Erma. Now I told Lori about it all, and she is thinking she should drive us to see her at the hospital tomorrow night, that is an hour and a half away from here. We'll see. She will call Donna, Erma's other daughter who lives close to her and see what she thinks. Prayers are always welcome.
Today ask God for anything that is in line with His will for you. Plead with
Him
and Tell Him your needs and keep praying.
Scripture for the day:
"Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes
refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, until the
destroying storms pass by." ~Psalm 57:1
Meditation for the day:
"My soul is restless until it finds its rest in Thee." A river flows
on, until it loses itself in the sea. Our spirits long for rest in the
Spirit of God. We can yearn to realize a peace, a rest, a satisfaction
that we have never found in the world or its pursuits. Some of us are
not conscious of our need, and can shut the doors of our spirits against
the Spirit of God. That makes it difficult for us to find true peace.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may feel the divine unrest. I pray that my soul may find
its rest in God.
Healing Prayer
Dear God:
Be my redeemer, my internal teacher, my divine physician.
Thank You for your presence in my life.
I surrender to You all I am, all I think, all I feel, and all I have.
I recognize in this moment that Yours is the power to heal and make whole.
You who have the power to work miracles,
You who rule time and space, please take me in Your arms and hold me.
Dear Lord, please lift me up and heal me.
Cast out of my mind all thoughts that are not of You.
Cast out of me all harsh and critical nature.
Cast out of me all violence and all anger.
Cast out of me all demons from my past.
For I would be made new.
I wish to walk so close to You that we might be as one.
I ask for new life, new mind, new body, new spirit.
Dear God, please come into me and release me from this pain.
Amen.

HE IS THE GREAT I AM
Author Unknown
He is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End!
He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all!
He is the Architect of the universe and the Manager of all times.
He always was, He always is, and He always will be...
Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone!
He was bruised and brought healing!
He was pierced and eased pain!
He was persecuted and brought freedom!
He was dead and brought life!
He is risen and brings power!
He reigns and brings Peace!
The world can't understand him,
The armies can't defeat Him,
The schools can't explain Him,
and The leaders can't ignore Him.
Herod couldn't kill Him,
The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him,
and The people couldn't hold Him!
Nero couldn't crush Him,
Hitler couldn't silence Him,
The New Age can't replace Him,
and Donahue can't explain Him away!
He is light, love, longevity, and Lord.
He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God.
He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure.
His ways are right, His word is eternal,
His will is unchanging, and His mind is on me.
He is my Redeemer, He is my Savior,
He is my guide, and He is my peace!
He is my Joy, He is my comfort,
He is my Lord, and He rules my life!
I serve Him because His bond is love,
His burden is light, and His goal for me is abundant life.
I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise,
the power of the powerful, the ancient of days,
the ruler of rulers, the leader of leaders,
the overseer of the overcomers, and the sovereign Lord
of all that was and is and is to come.
And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size.
His goal is a relationship with ME!
He will never leave me, never forsake me,
Never mislead me, never forget me, never overlook me,
and never cancel my appointment in His appointment book!
When I fall, He lifts me up!
When I fail, He forgives!
When I am weak, He is strong!
When I am lost, He is the way!
When I am afraid, He is my courage!
When I stumble, He steadies me!
When I am hurt, He heals me!
When I am broken, He mends me!
When I am blind, He leads me!
When I am hungry, He feeds me!
When I face trials, He is with me!
When I face persecution, He shields me!
When I face problems, He comforts me!
When I face loss, He provides for me!
When I face Death, He carries me Home!
He is everything for everybody, everywhere,
every time, and every way.
He is God,
He is faithful.
I am His, and He is mine!
My Father in heaven can whip the father
of this world. So, if you're wondering why I
feel so secure, understand this...
He said it and that settles it.
God is in control,
I am on His side, and that means all is well with my soul.
Everyday is a blessing for GOD Is!
Words of Encouragement
God is No Stranger to Suffering!
1 Peter 4:12
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which comes upon you to
prove you, as though something strange were happening to you.
We are creatures of habit. One of the oddest things about the way people
behave in crisis situations is that they very frequently do nothing at all.
A few years ago at an air fair in Germany, two planes collided and crashed
in flames on a crowd of spectators. The odd thing about it was that videos
of the disaster showed an amazing stillness in the crowd for several seconds
after the crash. People simply couldn’t believe it was happening to them.
The message of the cross is that such things do happen to good people, even
to great people, even to divine people. This does not mean that God is
capricious, any more than he was capricious with himself when he surrendered
himself to be crucified. Rather, it means that, because he handed himself
over to death, there is no ordeal we can go through where he is not with us
and we with him. Stay with him and he will refine you like gold tested in
fire.
Just a Word of Encouragement
from Mark Shea and Jeff Cavins.
Almighty God,
we rejoice in the protection of the Virgin Mary.
May her prayers help to free us from
evil here on earth and
lead us to eternal joy in heaven.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

10 Foods for a Good Night’s Sleep
Want a good night’s sleep? Put down the pill bottle and head to the kitchen.
Some foods help relax your body and quiet your mind while others stimulate
the production of sleep-inducing melatonin and serotonin. Choose from this
list of foods to help send you to dreamland.
Bananas. Bananas contain magnesium to relax muscles, and also melatonin and
serotonin as well.
Warm milk. Mom was right — the amino-acid tryptophan found in milk acts like
a sedative, and the calcium helps the body use it.
Potatoes. Potatoes cancel out the acids that can interfere with
snooze-inducing tryptophan.
Chamomile tea. A long-time staple of teas formulated for drinking before
bedtime, chamomile acts as a mild sedative.
Oatmeal. Oats are rich in melatonin — and are filling, so as to tide you
over during your journey through the land of Nod.
Cheddar cheese. A wedge of cheddar cheese is also rich in tryptophan.
Honey. A bit of honey to sweeten tea or warm milk will help your brain
switch off orexin, a neurotransmitter that helps keep you alert.
Whole-wheat bread. Add a piece of toast to tea that’s sweetened with honey,
and insulin will help convert tryptophan to serotonin.
Almonds. Heart-healthy almonds also contain tryptophan and magnesium.
Turkey. Loaded with tryptophan, a couple of slices of turkey on whole-wheat
bread will help bring a restful night’s sleep.
You Are Very Special
In all the world there is nobody, nobody like you. Since the beginning of
time there has never been another person like you. Nobody has your smile,
your eyes, your hands, your hair. Nobody owns your handwriting, your voice.
You're Special.
Nobody can paint your brush strokes. Nobody has your taste for food or music
or dance or art. Nobody in the universe sees things as you do. In all time
there has never been anyone who laughs in exactly your way, and what makes
you laugh or cry or think may have a totally different response in another.
So - You're Special.
You're different from any other person who has ever lived in the history of
the universe. You are the only one in the whole creation who has your
particular set of abilities. There is always someone who is better at one
thing or another. Every person is your superior in at least one way. Nobody
in the universe can reach the quality of the combination of your talents,
your feelings. Like a roomful of musical instruments some might excel in one
way of another but nobody can match the symphonic sound when all are played
together. Your Symphony. Through all eternity no one will ever walk, talk,
think or do exactly like you. You're Special.
You're rare and in all rarity there is enormous value. You're Special and it
is no accident you are. Please realize that God made you for a special
purpose. He has a job for you to do that nobody else can do as well as you
can. Out of the billions of applicants only one is qualified. Only one has
the unique and right combination of what it takes and that one is you.
You're Special!

After telling Lori tonight about Erma's update etc. she's decided to pick me up, go to Deil's, and then to Ethel's, in Mpls. and that's quite a bit of driving - taking them to the door of the hospital, so they don't have to walk so far, and we'll all see Erma. I have no idea what time I'll get back home. We'll leave after her work. Please - continue prayers. Just left a voice message for Darla.
