Do not leave for another day a task which God would have you do today.
Lord, give me the determination to not procrastinate and the joy to do my
work well.

"The greatest among you will be your servant. All who exalt themselves will
be humbled, and all who humble themselves will be exalted." ~Matthew
23:11-12

We can remember that the first quality of greatness is service. In a way,
God is the greatest servant of all, because God is always waiting for us to
ask for help in all the good work we do. God's strength is always available
to us, but we can ask it of God through our own free will. It is a free
gift, but we can sincerely seek it. A life of service is the finest life we
can live. We are here on earth to serve others. That is our mission, and a
sign of how well we do God's work here on earth!

I pray that I may cooperate with God in all good things. I pray that I may
serve God and others and so lead a useful and happy life.
But he was wounded
for our transgressions,
he was bruised
for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace
was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.
(Isaiah 53:5)
Happy Easter!
May you have peace in your life and always feel His love within your heart.
Thank you all for the kind words on Saturday’s thread. You all continue to be one of my blessings each day and I love reading your words and cherish your friendship. I pray that each one of you who visits here today has a wonderful Easter Sunday. I’ll be spending the day with family--they give me such joy and I am blessed to have each of them, as I am each of you.
Dear Lord Jesus, by your Passion and Resurrection you brought life to the world. But the glory of the Resurrection came only after the sufferings of the Passion.
You laid down your life willingly and gave up everything for us. Your body was broken and fastened to a Cross, your clothing became the prize of soldiers, your blood ebbed slowly but surely away, and your Mother was entrusted to the beloved disciple.
Stretched out on the Cross, deprived of all earthly possessions and human aid, racked with pain and burning with fever, you cried out to your Father that the end had come. You had accomplished the work given you, and you committed into his hands, as a perfect gift, the little life that remained to you.
Lord, teach me to accept all afflictions after the example you have given. Let me place my death in your and my weakness in your abandonment. Take hold of me with your love, that same "foolish" love that knew no limits, and let me offer myself to the Father with you so that I may rise with you to eternal life.
THE MAGIC OF THREE DAYS
-- by Patt Barnes
It was a beautiful spring day, and a sense of peace stayed with me as
I left the cathedral on Easter Monday morning. I paused for a moment
on top of the steps leading to the avenue, now crowded with people
rushing
to their jobs. Sitting in her usual place inside a small archway was
the old flower lady. At her feet, corsages and boutonnieres were
parading on top of a spread-open newspaper.
The flower lady was smiling, her wrinkled old face alive with some
inner joy. I started down the stairs--then on an impulse, turned and
picked out a flower.
As I put it in my lapel, I said, "You look happy."
"Why not?' she answered. "Everything is good."
She was dressed so shabbily and seemed so very old that her reply
started me. "You've been sitting here for many years now, haven't you?
And always smiling. You wear your troubles well."
"You can't reach my age and not have troubles," she replied. "only
it's like Jesus and Good Friday...." She paused for a moment.
"Yes?" I prompted
"Well, when Jesus was crucified on Good Friday, that was the worst day
for the whole world. When I get troubles I remember that, and then I
think of what happened only three days later-Easter and our Lord rose
from the dead. So when things go wrong, I've learned to wait days and
somehow everything gets much better."
She smiled good-bye, but her words still follow me whenever I think I
have troubles... "Give God a chance to help...wait three days."
Happy Easter, Angels. He lives!
