Daily Positive Thread - Wednesday, July 31

Hello my friends! Every day God grants us many blessings, doesn't He? This day's blessings are mostly quality time with Darla, and seeing on Facebook little captions on Lori's trip. Still in Canada, seeing much of God's Beauty.

Be sensitive to the feelings of others and show the same forgiveness and compassion
that the Lord gives to you. Lord, give me the wisdom to know when to speak
and when to listen.

Scripture for the day:

"Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and
slander, together with all malice, and be kind to one another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children, and live in love, as
Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and
sacrifice to God." ~Ephesians 4:31-5:2

Meditation for the day:

We cannot believe in God and keep our selfish ways. When we believe
more strongly in God, we begin to abandon our selfish ways. The old
self can shrivel up and die, and God's image can become much clearer.
The gradual elimination of selfishness in the growth of love for God and
our fellow human beings is a wonderful goal in our lives. As the
picture grows, we can reveal more and more of the likeness of God until
those who see us can see in us the power of God's grace at work in a
human life.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may grow in my likeness to God. I pray that others may
see in me some of the power of God's grace at work.

Thou shall not worry, for worry is the most unproductive of all human activities.

Thou shall not be fearful,
for most of the things we fear never come to pass.

Thou shall not cross bridges before you come to them,
for no one yet has succeeded in accomplishing this.

Thou shall face each problem as it comes, you can only handle one at a time anyway.

Thou shall not take problems to bed with you,
for they make very poor bedfellows.

Thou shall not borrow other people's problems.
They can better care for them than you can.

Thou shall not try to relive yesterday for good or ill,
it is forever gone. Concentrate on what is happening in your life and be happy now!

Thou shall be a good listener,
for only when you listen do you hear different ideas from your own. It is hard to learn something new when you are talking, and some people do know more than you do.

Thou shall not become "bogged down" by frustration
, for 90 percent of it is rooted in self-pity and will only interfere with positive action.

Thou shall count thy blessings, never overlooking the small ones, for a lot of small blessings add up to a big one.
A Savior Meditation
Be good, and you'll never regret it.
Be bad, and you'll never forget it.
If mistaken, be first to confess it.
If right, be the last to express it.
If wrong, then be quick to redress it.
If it's slander, be sure to suppress it.
Be kind, but let no one suspect it.
Be wise, but let no one detect it.
Be fair, for your friends will expect it.
Be swift, or perhaps you'll neglect it.
If it's borrowed, be quick to repay it.
If it's loaned, make excuse to delay it.
Be selfish, and no one will miss you.
Be a fool, and the demons will hiss you.
Be yourself, and the Good Lord will kiss you.

0 if only you knew the gift of God!

LORD, you loved me from all eternity; therefore you created me.

Behold you are precious in my eyes and glorious: because I love you (Isaiah 43:4)

You loved me after you created me; therefore you became man for me.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16).

You loved me after you became man for me; therefore you lived and died for me.

Christ loved me and gave himself for me! (Galatians 2:20).

You loved me after you died for me; therefore you rose for me

I arose and I am still with you—even to the end of the world (Ps 138 and Mt 28:20).

You loved me after you rose for me; therefore you went to prepare a place for me.

/ am going to prepare a place for you that where I am you also may be (Jn 14:3).

You loved me after you had gone to prepare a place for me; therefore you came back to me.

O Jesus, you love me and you want to live in me and be one with me—to become my very food and drink.

Take and eat; this is My body for you. Take and drink—this is My blood poured out for you (Lk 22:19).

This is the mystery on our Altar, the mystery of the Blessed Sacrament, the mystery of unspeakable love.

0 if only you knew the gift of God! (John 4:12).
