Daily Positive Thread - Thursday, June 27

Hello my friends,

Well today my husband got to the doctor's and got some antibiotics - he had a fever, and still couldn't eat, and no appetite. I made him some buttered noodles with a little cheese on it, he had a little. Could be some ecoli or food poisoning from the food at Perkins Saturday morning because it was since then he started to not feel good. Thanks for your prayers, hoping and praying he'll be able to make his two appointments for Lighthouse tomorrow afternoon. One little sign of his getting better after another nap, he thinks he starting to get his appetite back. It'll be a great blessing to have him well again. May God grant him healing all over! Sorry today's thread got poofed - I did send it out.

Do what is right and good in the eyes of the Lord and receive
the fullness of His blessings. Lord, I thank You for the gifts that
I have received and ask forgiveness for all that I have done wrong.

Scripture for the day:

"Whoever was called in the Lord as a slave is a freed person belonging to
the Lord, just as whoever was free when called is a slave of Christ. You
were bought with a price; do not become slaves of human masters. In
whatever condition you were called, brothers and sisters, there remain with
God." ~1 Corinthians 7:22-24

Meditation for the day:

Cooperation with God is the great necessity for our lives. All else then
can follow naturally. Cooperation with God is the result of our
consciousness of God's presence. Guidance is bound to come to us as we live
more and more with God. We can have many quiet times when we not so much
ask to be shown and led by God, as to feel and realize God's presence. New
spiritual growth and life comes naturally when we cooperate with God.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that God may supply me with strength and show me the direction in
which God wants me to grow. I pray that these things may come naturally
from my cooperation with God.

Here's a Franciscan Morning Prayer:

Jesus Lord, I offer you this new day because I believe in you,
love you, hope all things in you and thank you for your blessings.
I am sorry for having offended you and forgive everyone who has offended me.
Lord, look on me and leave in me peace and courage
and your humble wisdom that I may serve others with joy,
and be pleasing to you all day. Amen.

ACCEPTANCE OF GOD'S WILL

In all things may the most holy, the most just, and
the most lovable will of God be done, praised and
exalted above all for ever. Your will be done, O Lord,
your will be done. The Lord has given, the Lord has
taken away,, blessed be the name of the Lord.

SOMETIMES GOD WHISPERS
by Jeanette Hays

An old preacher spoke something in reply to a question from a young man,
something so hushed it was indistinguishable. The young man stepped across
the room. "What did you say?" he asked. The preacher repeated himself, but
again in a tone as soft as a whisper. So the young man moved closer until he
was leaning on the preacher's chair.

"Sorry," he said. "I still didn't hear you." With their heads bent together,
the old preacher spoke once more. "God sometimes whispers," he said, "so we
will move closer to hear him."

We all want God's voice to thunder through the air with the answer to our
problem. But God's is the still, small voice ... the gentle whisper.

Perhaps there's a reason.

Nothing draws human focus quite like a whisper.

God's whisper means I must stop my ranting and move close to Him, until my
head is bent together with His. And then, as I listen, I will find my
answer.

Better still, I find myself closer to God.

And there is no better place to be.
