Daily Positive Thread - Sunday, August 11

Hello all your grateful gals and positive people! Hope your Saturday went well - tomorrow morning Lori leaves for home from Montana. Darla and Greg are on their way to Texas. It was nice, but miss them already cuz we know it'll be a long time before we see them again, well, Christmas. We were invited for a late lunch at Greg's parents today - she sure did a lot of cooking, I brought a cuke salad and gave them some of our cucumbers. Then we said Goodbye to Darla and Greg. Please keep them in prayer for a safe journey and that Darla can be relieved of her pain. Thanks! Praying for all of you!

God can calm your fears, bring rest to your worry and fix your broken heart if
only you give Him all of the pieces. Lord, I ask You to fill me with Your peace
as I turn my troubles over to You.

Scripture for the day:

"Do not forsake me, O LORD; O my God, do not be far from me; make haste
to help me, O Lord, my salvation." ~Psalm 38:21-22

Meditation of the day:

It is not our circumstances that need altering so much as ourselves.
After we have changed, conditions will naturally change. We need spare
no effort to become all that God would have us become. We can follow
every good leading of our conscience. We can take each day with no
backward look. We can face the day's problems with God, and seek God's
help and guidance as to what we should do in every situation that may
arise. We need never look back. We need not leave until tomorrow the
thing that we are guided to do today.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that God will help me to become all that God would have me be.
I pray that I may face today's problems with good grace.

Be Yourself

Be strong enough to face the world each day.
Be weak enough to know you cannot do everything.

Be generous to those who need your help.
Be frugal with what you need yourself.

Be willing to share your joys.
Be willing to share the sorrows of others.

Be a leader when you see a path others have missed.
Be a follower when you are shrouded in the midst of uncertainty.

Be the first to congratulate an opponent who succeeds.
Be the last to criticize a colleague who fails.

Be sure where your next step will fall, so that you will not stumble.
Be sure of your final destination, in case you are going the wrong way.

Be loving to those who love you.
Be loving to those who do not love you, and they may change.

Above all, be yourself!

The Jack in Us

A man named Jack was walking along a steep cliff one day, when he accidentally got too close to the edge and fell.
On the way down he grabbed a branch, which temporarily stopped his fall. He looked down and to his horror saw that the canyon fell straight down for more than a thousand feet. He couldn't hang onto the branch forever, and there was no way for him to climb up the steep wall of the cliff. So Jack began yelling for help, hoping that someone passing by would hear him and lower a rope or something. "HELP! HELP! Is anyone up there?"
He yelled for a long time, but no one heard him. He was about to give up when he heard a voice. "
“Jack, Jack, can you hear me?"
"Yes, yes! I can hear you. I'm down here!"
"I can see you, Jack. Are you all right?"
"Yes, but who are you, and where are you?"
"I am the Lord, Jack. I'm everywhere."
"The Lord? You mean, GOD?"
"That's Me. "
"God, please help me! I promise if, you'll get me down from here, I'll stop sinning. I'll be a really good person. I'll serve You for the rest of my life. "
"Easy on the promises. Jack. Let's get you off from there - then we can
talk." "Now, here's what I want you to do. Listen carefully.
"I'll do anything, Lord. Just tell me what to do."
"Okay. Let go of the branch. "
"What?"
"I said, let go of the branch. Just trust Me. Let go."
There was a long silence. Finally Jack yelled.
"HELP! HELP! IS ANYONE ELSE UP THERE?"
Have you ever felt like Jack? We say that we want to know the will of God, but when we find out what it is, we can't handle it. Sounds too scary, too difficult. We decide to look elsewhere. When He says, "Let go of the things that stand between you and Me. and trust Me with your life," it sounds pretty scary. But when we let go, we find freedom and safety in His hands. .
" Have a Blessed Day and remember that Jesus Loves You

Move Your Mind Forward

Whatever you dwell upon in your mind, you give power to. So of course it makes sense to focus on what you want rather than what you don't want. Yet there are many ways in which the things you don't want can sneak into your thinking.

Worry and doubt focus your thinking on what you don't want. Rather than worrying about the bad things that might happen, direct your actions toward making positive things happen.

Complaining can also get your mind sidetracked into thinking about what you don't want. What do you complain about? The things you don't like. Rather than complaining, take action. Action moves you toward what you do want.

Anger is one more way to get your thinking negatively directed. Rather than getting angry about what you don't like, use that energy to give you determination for what you want to achieve.

Keep your mind positively focused on the good things that life can offer. Those things will grow stronger and more abundant in your world.
