I just learned that Dolly actually owned an apartment on 5th Avenue when she was starting her movie career and working with a new record label to establish a "pop" career and she was quite active in the NY scene:
With Andy Warhol and Jim Belushi at Windows on the World, with Giants players, disco Queen Grace Jones and dancing at Studio 54 with Steve Rubell.
Everyone loved Dolly! She transcended everyone and everything!

I guess Dolly was LOVE personified. What a fine person she was! It seems that most people felt calm and loved in her presence.
If each of us has only a few molecules of what propelled and inspired Dolly, we can help alleviate sadness and suffering in the world if we put those molecules to work.

Dolly at a Calvin Klein show with Diane von Furstenberg and Fran Leibowitz!
What did Fran say about Dolly??
"Who doesn't love Dolly Parton? I personally am certain that she is the most popular person in the country. People who hate each other love Dolly Parton.
I have never heard anyone say they didn't and they don't even like her, they love her."

I'm loving all of these threads about Dolly. Crazy to think someone complained about two threads! Someone needs some of Dolly's positivity!

A little while ago I read that only Dolly could elicit the sincere and heartfelt condolences of both Hillary and Donald.
I think that person is correct.

I remember thinking there isn't anyone who didn't love Dolly. There was something magical about her, even at a young age.

My mother was a tough no nonsense nurse trained at Belleview in the 1930's (she was 40 when I was born dad was 47 so had older parents).
She was stoic and quiet mostly, but when she saw Dolly on TV she lit up and was lifted up.
And thank you @They CallMe MRWILKES for the pics ![]()
No other celebrity did that for her.

@They CallMe MRWILKES if you have not done so or not aware I highly encourage you to google her manager (deceased in 2017) Sandy Gallin. They shared that NYC apartment at 800 5th ave....Dolly refered to it as the north homebase. ( Gallin was gay, she referred that living together like Will & Grace).
They launched together a production company Sandollar Productions. Im going down this rabbit hole as I type this omg. Buffy The Vampire Slayer, one of my favorite movie remake of Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride II, Common Threads: Stories from the Quilt....so much more
